Questions & Answers

Is it necessary for the controler to be near the collar when using the bark limiter setting?

No, you set it on the controler, and it continues to do so until you turn it off on the controler. It is possible to turn off or move the controller away from the colloar.

Is it vibration, tone, or shock in the bark limiter mode?

You have three options for setting it up. You can use an Autorise stimulation, which begins slowly and gradually increases in intensity as the barking continues, or you can set it to a specific stimulation level (1-100). 18) Alternatively, you can set it to vibrate only.

I read the instructions, but they don't explain how to activate the bark limited mode. What's the best way for me to accomplish this?

"On-" means that you must hold the bottom on the upper left side. Off " until you get the code VMC, but keep in mind that you must first set the strength. My Border Collie Mix weighs in at 60 pounds. Because she has long hair, I put it in a ten. It was set up with the assistance of my neighbors. I had to return a large number of them because they were defective. When you've decided on the strength and type of program you want (I prefer the VCM because it's a gentle one), all you have to do now is turn the On/OFF button every day until the pre-selected program appears. After that, all you have to do is test it with your hand to make sure it's the right one. I'm overjoyed because all I have to do is show my dog the command and she immediately obeys. I only had to correct her on rare occasions by pressing the middle button. Please consult any of your knowledgeable acquaintances. in order to obtain assistance! I did ! Every neighborhood has a group called " Neighbors," who will gladly assist you!

Is the bark control automatic or does it have to be done by hand?

Both are correct answers. Some of the responses are difficult to understand. br>br>After manually turning on and off the bark limiter, you can choose whether the collar is in automatic rise mode, vibrate mode, or on a set stim level. When the bark limiter is turned on automatically, it will always do what it is programmed to do; you will not have to correct the dog manually. br>br>You can also use the bark limiter in training mode, which allows you to correct manual barking while the collar corrects for it automatically. br>br>The collar isn't going to make you stop whining.

Barklimiter is in such a bad situation
3/5

I bought two of these for my labradoodles and have them linked to a single controller, though we've previously used two controllers so my wife could correct one while I corrected the other. I really like the Garmin as a remote collar; the bands are flexible but sturdy, and I've had mine on my dogs for about ten years. The battery lasts 4 hours when used for 12 hours per day. My dogs haven't needed correction in 5 days because they've gotten used to it. When I do use the correction, it is consistent, and the number of levels available to fine-tune the stim level is sufficient. Prior to the Garmin, I had the SportDog Fieldtrainer and felt limited in stim levels because even a 1 was too strong, but this is not the case with the Garmin (my dogs are annoyed and shake their heads to a stim level of a high 3 or low 4 with the Garmin). Because I paid extra for the BarkLimiter feature, which essentially doesn't work, I'm giving the collar a low rating. My collars are securely fastened, and the dogs reliably respond to manual stim, so I know it's not a contact problem. I've tried both long and short prongs, their autorise function, and setting a manual bark stim twice as high as my normal training stim level, I've positioned the receiver over their vocal cords as the manual suggests, and made sure the BarkLimiter function is actually turned on, but no luck. Despite my dogs barking every day when someone comes in the front door for the past three months and having the BarkLimiter function turned on the entire time, the BarkLimiter function has only gone off about ten times. My dogs have surprised me a few times when they growl during play and then go on a barking spree 5- The collar hasn't responded six times after that. The bark function is simply unreliable, and there is no way to adjust the bark sensing sensitivity to make it respond to sound, vibration, or both. Overall, the remote collar is good, but the bark collar is terrible.

My first impression of this device is that I absolutely adore it
5/5

My tenacious husky used to enjoy going on freedom runs and chasing deer, but now she just sits in the yard and watches. I haven't needed it in a long time, but isn't that what the collar is for? In months, my dog hasn't worn his collar. The battery in the collar lasts for two years. If left on 24 hours a day, it will last 3 days. The controller's battery is infinitely long lasting. I've had a few occasions where it hasn't shocked me, but I have a large, long-haired dog, and I don't like it too tight around her neck. Consider this if you're concerned about its brutality: I couldn't let my husky run around and have fun because she had to be on a leash, but now she can chase and play like a normal dog. I can take her on runs with me, and she follows me around when I feed the deer off-leash. She's in a much better mood now!.

Greetings, Tri- User of Tronics
3/5

As a long-time, happy Tri-State resident, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to you. I'm a Tronics user, and I'm disappointed by Garmin's changes. It was simple and intuitive to control multiple dogs with my old remote, and really any remote prior to Garmin, because you could tell what collar you were on and what stim level you were on just by feeling (assuming you took the time to get to know your remote). That isn't an option with this system. br>br> Looking at the display is the only way to know which collar is active. The process will be slowed as a result of this. The same can be said for the stim level. While some people use the same level all of the time or almost all of the time, my dogs need a significant increase when they're on a mission or focused on something. Making the necessary adjustments is difficult and time-consuming, especially if I don't have that dog chosen. When using this at night, having to look at the brightly lit display destroys your night vision quickly. br>br>I've also noticed that the system is sluggish. It takes longer than it did on my Tri-pod from the time I press the button until I see a reaction from the dog. While it may appear that the longer the dog is away from the Tronics unit, the longer the reaction time, this should be unnoticeable due to the speed of the signal, especially when we're talking about a hundred yards on a unit with a 3/4 mile range. br>br>When I put my remote in my pocket, I always turn the stim level to zero to avoid accidentally activating a collar. Another issue is that getting the remote back to ready is much more time consuming. br>br>If it weren't for the collar selection issue, which is the worst of it, I could handle most of it. The G3 and older units were much faster and easier to use because they didn't require looking at the remote before turning on the collar. The fact that the add-on collars, etc. are not backwards compatible makes the situation even worse, because if you have a problem with an older system or want to add a dog, you'll be forced to "upgrade" to this system or go to another brand that still has intuitive, easy-to-use remotes. br>br>I'll never understand why companies feel compelled to buy out a successful manufacturer and then drastically alter their successful line. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I gave up after a month with the Delta Sport and returned it. In addition to the issues I mentioned earlier, I believe the unit I received was defective. br>br>For starters, I frequently found myself pressing the remote's button to activate the collar of a dog that was 100 feet away and receiving no response. I finally got a response when I moved closer, usually within 20 feet, and pressed the same button on the same stim level. This happened dozens of times in different locations, indicating that it wasn't a matter of terrain (which was all flat) or competing radio signals/interference, especially when I was in a four-acre field surrounded by water or woods, where there aren't many electronic devices in use. At the same time, I was standing next to people wearing various brands of collars, as well as some Garmin users who were not having any problems. br>br>The Pro 550 was the only Garmin system that could provide everything I needed with an intuitive remote, and since I could get all of the features I needed for a much lower price from Sport Dog, I now have a Sport Dog ProHunter 2525. While I wish the Pro 550 had LEDs, I don't need the Barklimiter because, despite the fact that one of my dogs has a barking problem, he has already figured out that all he has to do is stop barking for a brief period of time and then resume barking. I have to use the remote to stop him from barking. My new remote has a dial, a toggle switch, and three buttons, just like the old ones did. It has 17 different training modes, 27 different stim levels, as well as tone and vibration. I've only had it for five hours, two of which were spent charging it, and I'm already able to operate it without looking at it. I have two dogs on it right now, but I can control up to six. Unlike the Delta Sport, I never have to be concerned about the training mode being accidentally switched. That happened several times during my month with the Delta Sport. br>br>The Sport Dog system I got is more expensive than the Delta Sport, but still less expensive than the Pro 550, and it gives me everything I want and need in a remote collar. br>br>If you're thinking about getting the Delta Sport, look into Sport Dog collars instead. I never imagined myself saying that, considering how many people I assisted in obtaining a Tri-State diploma. Over the years, Tronics has become more popular, but unless Garmin figures out how to make something as good as Tri-Tec, it will be a long time before Garmin can compete. I will not be able to recommend Tronics' training collars at the'sport' level.

Limiter for barking It is necessary for you to understand how it functions
4/5

This collar is one of my favorites. It has a faster response than another model I used, making training easier. On the bark limiter, a word of caution: It only responds to vibrations, so it needs to be tight enough that you can "feel" your dog barking. The collar must be snug enough to stay on the neck halfway. Before it fires, it will let the dog bark a few times. The manual does a poor job of explaining this, but I'm much happier with the bark limiter now that I've contacted Garmin support and had them train me. I prefer to use a bark limiter instead of shock for vibration correction because she seems to respond better to it. When she is shocked, I believe she becomes confused and believes she has hit the invisible fence.
