Compared to the original one we bought from the same manufacturer two years ago (the black one in the picture), I like the new design better. In comparison to the original, the new collar has a smaller size but better range. It is great for bigger dogs, but if your dog is smaller, there will still be a lot of collar hanging out. My plan is to remove the collar that came with it and replace it with the old one. Despite the fact that my Bloodhound is one and a half years old and weighs 72lbs, I still need to shorten her collar to fit. A good range and excellent tone are both present in this remote control. As my wife and I were talking on the phone, I was working with the Bloodhound in the back yard, when our pup stopped following the commands I gave. I told my wife to use the tone feature to get her to follow.
