This specifies that it is a medium, but it also specifies that it is for cats and dogs. Isn't this a horse thing?

This is more appropriate for larger animals like a cow or a horse, in my opinion. It's for our cows, so that's what we got it for. It's far too large for a dog or a cat, in my opinion.
