This must-have item is essential for dog breeders! Are you preparing for a litter? Now is the time to order! My experience as a dog breeder has made Calsorb a MUST HAVE
5/5

Prevents the risk of preterm birth The cause of preeclampsia (hypocalcemia) is a deficiency of calcium seen after and during the birth of puppies, also known as "Milk Fever". If you're experiencing signs of ineffective labor, nervousness, or muscle twitching during pregnancy or right after childbirth, Calsorb is especially helpful. During pregnancy, it is good to know that you should not give calcium supplements as this will actually stop natural calcium production and can lead to calcium deficiency and milk fever. However, I do HIGHLY recommend giving calcium supplements during and after childbirth. In the early stages of labor (before the first puppy arrives but after it is certain early labor signs have started) I give up to three doses. I give one more dose after every 1 to 2 days. The litter consists of two At the same time, I will also give her a calcium supplement pill that also contains magnesium, zinc, and vitamin D in order to help her absorb Calsorb. The only way to promote absorption of Calcium is by giving it alone. In the case of my 55 lb dog, I will give 3ml In my opinion, less is probably needed for smaller dogs, but there is not a lot of info on the label about adequate dosing, which is quite There is just one line that says administer 1 There is one dose of 3 ml. *For more information, you may want to read the articles on the Revival Animal Health website titled 'How to use Calcium when whelping' and 'How to use Calcium after whelping'. It is certainly cheaper than the competition as far as price is concerned, however it works just as well for me especially if I combine it with a magnesium and vitamin D supplement, therefore charging TWICE as much as the other brand. As it already contains Vitamin D and Magine in it, a $10 bottle of 100 vitamins can do the same thing, so you can save money and time by taking them simultaneously. Because I buy several tubes of Calsorb at a time, this savings helps me a great deal, and it still works There has been some feedback that the bitter taste of Calsorb gel causes vomiting in some breeders, so I wrap the tabs in a piece of sandwich meat and they usually gobble it up right away. I have never experienced a problem with them vomiting after eating the food. It may be tempting to give soft food to a female who won't eat during whelping, preferably along with Dyne, which is a liquid food supplement for dogs with lots of calories or another liquid to mask the taste. Do you think it might be possible to put beef or chicken broth into an Calsorb was an essential part of keeping one of my daughters healthy and I believe it saved a few others from getting sick with measles Having it on hand is absolutely essential for me if I am suffering from a section or milk fever. My wish is that I had known about the importance of calcium during whelping sooner, hence my decision to write this review in order to share that information with my fellow dog breeders and their wonderful mothers. You'll notice if mom is acting nervous or if she's getting up and down, can't relax, not bonding with her puppies, laying on her belly instead of her side, unsteady gait, or clumsy steps after whelping. If you suffer from any of these symptoms, I definitely recommend that you take Calsorb as soon as possible. It is often very quick to notice an improvement following the Calsorb, and she continues to take the supplement every time she nurses. Please contact your vet as soon as possible if you don't notice improvement after several doses. In the absence of treatment, milk fever can be deadly. Sodium is the cure for calcium deficiency. I wish you the best of luck! There is no better way to spend your time.

BE SURE TO HAVE AT HAND IF YOU WANT TO BREED! The pros are The gel absorption is easy, you can't spit it out very easily and it is reasonably priced

It may potentially prevent the need for an emergency caesarian section The baby had to be delivered by section due to the delay in The cons are This soft gel substance does not taste pleasant to dogs, but it melts quickly in their mouths because it is a soft gel. Especially if they are in the process of whelping, if you give too much too soon they will throw up. Why are you using it, and what is its purpose? Whether you are a breeder or not, you will find this to be an excellent fast acting product! As a result of the stress of whelping, a lactating female's calcium stores are quickly depleted and she can barely hold on to her milk supply. helps the body to clear down to the cellular level so that labor can take place. It has been taught to me at seminars given by top vets in our county that during the birthing process and immediately following, the dog will use an enormous amount of This is the stage where they can almost not receive too much calcium. You should discuss the treatment plan with your vet prior to administering it. In the case of breeding, you should always have an emergency vet on call and a close relationship with your vet. However, as a very experienced breeder, I will give calcium once the real and actual labor has begun. THIS OR ANY OTHER CALCIUM PRODUCT SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN TO A DOG BEFORE HIS OR HER LABOR HAS BEEN COMPLETED! It is VERY important to follow these steps! The calcium supplement given prior to whelping actually causes the body to stop storing its own calcium, tricking the animal into believing it has too much calcium. Calcium will be unavailable during and after delivery, so she will not be able to get it. When pregnant women are whelping and immediately after they have given birth to a baby, Calcium supplements are GOOD. As someone who has used Calsorb for years, I can attest that it does the In any case, if you see your female shaking or acting "out of it" after giving birth, she needs calcium! It may also be that she is in labor and having one or two puppies and has more waiting, although labor does not progress. Make calcium a part of your diet! Dogs need food and water on a regular basis, so you never know when they will need them. Alternatively, prepare it before the puppies are due to ensure you will have it on hand if you need it. Or, if you want to avoid problems, give this to every female during whelp.

I am speechless! It took me a long time to research I am speechless! The research I did on calsorb use by different breeders to help with whelping was extensive
5/5

I am amazed at the You shouldn't give the girl anything before it comes time to whelp! Each time she came back, I would give her some more. I was pleased with the way it worked. My dog slowed down and had to reposition pups so I gave her some time. I gave her a little more time for the last few pups. I wish I had discovered this 10 years ago when I was first.

It's a great deal! Buy it now! Anyone who breeds should purchase this book
5/5

Although I have tested other brands (as well as TUMS, ice cream, and the like), this one seems to work the best. Give after each pup after Usually it gets things moving again if there is no puppy in an hour's time. If there is no puppy within an hour, I dose them again and we go for a short walk. The last two times that I ended up at the emergency vet during whelping I didn't have this brand on hand. Spend a little now or pay for a much more costly vet bill in the future. This is also a good option for lactating mothers. Whenever they have a break outside and come back in to eat, I give my girls a dose. It doesn't bother any of our girls at all! They lick it off my finger with delight.
