Questions & Answers

I'd like to hook this up to a faucet. I'm not sure what kind of adapter I'd get. or what is the hose's specification so I can look for it?

We bought the AVAbay Polished Chrome Faucet Diverter Valve (ASIN: ) from Amazon. B07MHJQK9Q) to connect to a single handle faucet on a utility sink in our garage (similar to far right photo posted by seller). We were able to connect it to our Waterpik PPR-100 with relative ease. We are happy with the products now that they are installed, especially the 252E Pet Wand Pro shower sprayer, which did not include this part.

Is the tub running while this is in use?

No, depending on which way the switch is turned, the water only comes out through the hose nozzle or the shower head.

Is the water pressure strong enough?

You should be fine as long as your water pressure is adequate to begin with. I have good water pressure, but I have to turn the outside faucet down a little to use it. Because of the splash back (they don't stand still), I prefer to use the smaller spray because it's more concentrated and easier to wet and rinse the thick fur (Alaskan Malamutes have a double coat with hair 6 to 10 inches long). I really like the on/off feature; there's a little dribble when it's off, but I'm outside, so it's not a big deal.

Is it relatively simple to attach the shower head? How so?

It's simple enough for a caveman to do. Instructions are simple to follow and only require a small crescent wrench. In less than 5 minutes, you can have it up and running.

My giant breed dog responded well to it
5/5

My poor dog has recently developed skin/coat issues, necessitating weekly baths (despite his protests to the contrary). It was a tense battle of wills and strength for both of us, and I only had a slight edge. And believe me when I say that there is nothing more depressing than a 125-pound dog sitting in the tub with a look of complete resignation on his face. br>br>After that, the actual bathing begins. I was showering in my bedroom's master bath, which has a hand-held shower head with a short hose. Basically, the hose was long enough for me to wash one side of him at a time, and since he refused to turn around (his butt must always be planted in the tub's corner, "NO STICK HEAD IN CORNER EVER," he said), we only washed one side. So I went on the hunt for a better alternative and came across this on a Lighting Deal. I put it in my cart, did some quick research, thought it looked great, read some positive reviews, and then decided not to buy it for some reason. br>br>Now fast forward two baths. I'm completely drenched from head to toe in water. The entire bathroom floor is flooded, water is dripping from the ceiling, and I've used up every towel in the house. toe, he's not soaked at all but still covered in shampoo; the entire bathroom floor is flooded; the entire bathroom floor is flooded; the entire bathroom floor is flooded; the entire bathroom floor is flooded; the entire bathroom floor is flooded; the entire bathroom floor is flooded; the entire bathroom floor is flooded; the entire Then I made the mistake of turning slightly to give him a 2" gap between myself and the tub wall. He was out of the tub and onto the linoleum in seconds, which of course resulted in him extending his doggy nails and sliding frantically across the floor, eventually collapsing into a pile against the far wall. I was completely demoralized. It doesn't get much worse than this. Then he stood up and shook his head frantically, spraying doggy shampoo directly into my gaping mouth. There needed to be a shift. br>br>I returned to Amazon, added this and a shower mat to my cart, and proceeded to check out without hesitation. It took under 5 minutes to complete the installation. The shower mat encouraged him to take a bath without engaging in a lengthy wrestling match the next time he bathed. It was simple to hang the wand on the suction cup when I wasn't using it, and I was able to wet all of him down with very little effort. There was enough water pressure with the full spray to wet down his back end's thick downy fur. Using the narrow spray and low water pressure, I was able to wet up under his legs and tummy with care. One- It was a little difficult at first, but I eventually got the hang of it. The hose was also long enough to reach his backside at the tub's far end. I'm blown away by how well it worked, because my closets are stuffed with doggy gadgets and toys that I thought would be fun but never used. br>br>My only criticism is that I wish you could turn the wand's dial to completely turn off the water, but there is always a small trickle. That little trickle bounced off the tub's wall and right into my face because it was hanging on the suction cup, and because of the layout of my bathroom. Finally, I just dipped it into the tub's water. br>br>To summarize, if you're a dog parent, this is a fantastic investment that will make bathing your dog a lot easier. It would also be suitable for my 10-pound short-haired dog. It's also very affordable, thanks to the $10 Waterpik rebate. I'm thinking about getting another one to keep outside for washing down my lab after her ocean swimming, woods tromping, mud puddle splashing, and rainy day muddy paws adventures.

So far, it's been working well
3/5

**NOTE: "Broken Diverter" has been updated. Today was my first time using this. It performs admirably, and the hose's length is adequate for my needs. If I had to make one suggestion, it would be for a more pliable hose. It's possible that this will loosen up with time, but it's difficult to hang right now. In addition, instead of the plastic shower head/pipe connector that came with it, I'd like to see a metal shower head/pipe connector. This is going to crack at some point, I'm sure. Otherwise, I like the product at first glance. br>br>****UPDATE 09- 18*** The plastic water diverter device did indeed crack and break, as I predicted. It is less than 5 months old and has only been used five times. Following this, I'll contact WaterPik to inquire about a warranty replacement. Instead of chrome-colored plastic, this diverter should be made of metal. br>br>However, I contacted Waterpik about it, and they replaced the entire unit under warranty at no cost to me. The diverter, he claimed, was unavailable. Customer service receives a five-star rating from me. "I'm going to see if I can find a suitable metal water diverter attachment. " I'm confident that this low-cost plastic will shatter once more.

Love it
5/5

It's not worth the trouble. The most amazing thing that has ever happened! It's a lot easier to remove all of the soap from my dog now. It's so much easier to use this shower head than it is to use a regular detachable shower head. The shampoo and water just slide right off, and getting under her neck, around her face, and underneath her body is a breeze! She's a lot cleaner now. br>br>So my Waterpik broke after only a few months. It was as simple as separating the mounted shower from the rest of the unit. It was fantastic, but it didn't last long enough for me to consider it worthwhile. And I just realized I never received the suction mount.

Hose isn't a hit, but the Wand is
4/5

What I liked about it:
- Rubber handle with a comfortable gripbr>- Switching from a wide water stream to a narrow water stream is done with a thumb wheel. br>- hose with a length of eight feetbr> Sprayer removes soap from the dog in a gentle and effective manner. br>- Spray length adjusts to allow for easier application around the dog's head and undersidebr>- What I didn't like:br>- The hook on the diverter is convenient for storing the wand when not in use. br>What I didn't like:br>- Plastic fittings are used on the hose, which is not metal clad. br>- In comparison to competitors, the hose is of poor quality, making the product a poor value at this price. br>br>My Experience: br>The fitting on the hose that I used to connect it to the shower plumbing split open the next day, rendering the unit useless. Waterpik replaced my unit with a brand-new one. Meanwhile, I upgraded to a metal-clad sprayer hose from Home Depot with metal fittings. If you go with this sprayer, be careful not to overtighten the plumbing end of the fitting.

I think this is the best dog product I've ever bought!   I'd give it a higher rating if I could
5/5

We'll see how long it lasts because I read a lot of negative reviews about how long this product lasts. BUT, I just connected it, and it's a lifesaver! We have four pits that need to be bathed on a regular basis because we go hiking a lot. Giving them all showers with our regular shower head was a pain, and I worried that I'd waste a lot of water. Because we don't have a detachable hose on our shower, I'd have to revert to pouring water over the dogs in a large cup (which is both time consuming and ineffective at removing soap!). )br>br>I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something, so I found this product that was just right in terms of price. It couldn't possibly be true, I reasoned. But, so far, it's the best pet product I've bought in a long time; it makes bathing a breeze, and my boyfriend didn't take long to install it on our clunky shower head. br>br>There is a switch that controls the flow of water from the hand-held accessory to and from the shower head. There's also a clip for hanging the hose when you're finished. Off, full spray, and half spray are the three water pressure settings that can be controlled with one hand. In a regular shower, the hose is long enough to reach from the shower head to the dog. It's also not too bulky, so I don't mind leaving it in the shower! As dog lovers and CLEANLINESS aficionados, we think this is fantastic.
