There is nothing better than this conditioner, which I use on my Maltese, Barney. People who do not realize that Maltese have hair are mistaken! This means no dander and no shedding, but you will accumulate a lot of mats and knots if you don't brush your cat every day. He has a lengthier tail than my dogs hair, but I keep it shot all year round. If he's a happy boy, you can imagine how matted he gets every day and how much tail wagging he's doing. If you own a Maltese or any other dog with this kind of coat, the rule is to NEVER let the matted hair get wet. It becomes almost impossible to brush out the mats as they become tighter! In addition to brushing my dog thoroughly before bathing him, I also brush my cat. There was one day when it all changed. It was his tail that I forgot to do. The last thing I could do was to dry him off! It was a lucky day for me because this conditioner worked perfectly. There's no other product like it on the market for me and it leaves my dog's coat so soft and easy to brush and always smells great.
