I have two cats with long hair. This is something I use on a daily basis. It has significantly aided in the removal of hair from my carpet. Yes, it collects hair that has fallen out.
Yes, but there needs to be a method for using it. I'm the proud owner of a Shih Tzu. poo. By the time I purchased this, my dog's matting had worsened or his undercoat had become too tangled. For the price, it's a very sturdy brush; the best way to use it is to ask a groomer. We shave our dog, but this might be useful in between haircuts. I prefer visual instructions so I don't pull my dog's fur because the instructions are vague. His fur is currently cut very short.
It shaves through clumps and knots in the fur. A large amount of dead hair has been loosened. It's debatable whether it'll ruin a double coat. It may appear that way, but holding dead hair isn't good either. I groom my one Ragdoll who is prone to knotting, and it provides him with a lot of relief, but his coat does appear thinner without the clumps.
IT SHOULD BE EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE. ,MY DOG HAS LONG HAIR THAT IS THICK AND LIKE COTTON, SO HE HAS A LOT OF MATTING, AND I USE IT ALL THE TIME ON HIM BECAUSE IT IS THE BEST. MY DOG ENJOYS IT AS WELL. I'VE ALSO GIVEN THIS AS A GIFT TO MANY OF MY FRIENDS, AND THEY ALL SAY IT WORKS WONDERFULLY FOR THEIR PETS.

It's incredible how much hair comes off in just one swipe! It was impossible for me to believe what I was seeing. It effectively removed his undercoat, which was causing him a slew of issues, ranging from hairballs to knots and matting. I bought it because his fur had started matting and he couldn't keep up with it on his own. I was able to remove them EASILY, and his hair is now shiny. Awesome!.
My MaineCoon cat is extremely fluffy. I tried bathing him a few times but ended up mattifying his undercoat. I was in a bad mood. I purchased the Furminator only to discover that it did nothing but throw loose hair into the air. Yes, it would brush his hair, but I wanted to keep it contained so I could remove his matting. The straight edge dematting comb was then purchased, but it did no more than a regular comb. As a result, I took a chance and purchased this tool. The rounded edge comb, it turned out, was exactly what he needed to get the mats and loose hair out of his coat. It was a dream come true for me. My poor kitty would become irritated with me because all I wanted to do was brush him again and again. As a result, I worked in bursts. It, however, was successful.
We adopted a cat with several large tangles in her fur, which she refused to let us cut out with even a pair of small scissors. br>I came across this item while looking on Amazon for the "right" tool. FINALLY. My fuzzy bear/pupper has finally found a brush that works. Dwight, my Australian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix, has the most ridiculously long hair I've ever seen. It's fluffy, coarse, and extremely thick, and it matts easily. A rake was one of the tools I tried. I experimented with using a slicker brush. Even though they were working slowly, there was a lot of hair pulling, which Dwight despised. This brush is extremely effective. Dwight seemed unconcerned about it as well. His butt is fluffier than it was before.
I came across this while looking for shedding brushes, and I'm a little disappointed. This brush has blades on the inside of the curve (it won't touch your cat's skin, only their coat) that are great for removing tangled or matted hair, but that wasn't what I needed. I've had a long-term relationship with one of my coworkers. I already have a long-haired cat who is strewn about the house, and I don't need any more! I have seven cats, and they all need to be brushed on a regular basis. Once I catch her, I use this comb to get rid of her long hair and matted fur. By avoiding a groomer, I was able to save $80. Regular combing is a surefire way to make all cats happy. When the comb is brought out, they form a line to be groomed. I would strongly suggest it.
We have a rescue with a lot of mats from living outside for the past two years; none of our regular brushes were working, and her previous owner said they tried taking her to a groomer but couldn't get her to settle down long enough to groom her, plus she has seizures when she's stressed. So this brush was our last resort before scheduling an appointment with her veterinarian to see if the mats could be removed. This brush, fortunately, did its job. To be fair, it did work, but she didn't care for it. When we first started using it, there were times when it appeared to be hurting her, but we eased up and tried again. We discovered that it was due to the way we were holding the brush, which was at an incorrect angle and with strokes that were too long. It was always our fault, but once we figured out how she preferred to be brushed, everything fell into place and she didn't mind. We figured it out quickly, and she wasn't in any pain.
I used it to brush my two cats as soon as I got it yesterday. They were just a little hesitant because it had to feel strange to them. Isabelle laid on her back so I could do her tummy after a few stokes and let me get a lot of hair. I noticed she slept like a baby the other night. I'm so calm. It had to be a fantastic feeling for her. br>LoverBoy performed admirably, as well. Although his hair isn't as long as Isabelle's, I'm sure he enjoyed the new brush. br>I'm so glad I bought it for them both.
