Questions & Answers

Would I get regular pins or soft pins for my tangle-free Poodle?

The soft pins are what I use in my Goldendoodle and standard poodle. It does a good job of fluffing up my poodle's curls.

How long are the bristles in inches?

My brush pins don't even come close to an inch in length. I'd say it's a half-hearted attempt. 3/4 inch.

How big is the head of a regular pins brush? Thank you for your time. Is this a medium or large brush?

The brush head measures four inches in width and two and a half inches in length from front to back. The brush head is curved in both directions.

What is the best pin size and firmness for a Golden Retriever?

We have a standard poodle, and this worked great for here, as any groomer would tell you.

Brush is fantastic
5/5

Brushes that I really like. I've used the $60 Chris Christensen brush, and the differences in the two are minor and have no bearing on the product's function. br>br>For those looking for a great, more comfortable slicker for their long-coated dogs, this is it. Because the pins are longer, there is less pressure on the brush/dog/skin, and it is easier to get the pins down to the skin rather than just brushing the surface. Long-haired dogs, whether double-coated or not, must have this product. Even dogs who aren't particularly fond of brushing seem to enjoy it. This brush, however, will not compensate for bad brushing habits. You must brush your dog on a regular basis if it requires it. This brush will not compensate for irresponsible behavior.

Brush for your grooming kit that you must have
5/5

This is the one that I use. It is super soft, as shown, and never bothers the skin of almost any dog in coat (Shih Tzu, Maltese, Bichon, Havanese, Coton de Tuléar, Poodle, and so on). If you run into a bad tangle, I find it's best to switch to a stronger version from the same manufacturer for that tangle only, then return to this soft brush for the rest of the job. If you don't, the pins will be damaged. I couldn't live without this brush because it is so good for the price and so comfortable for both your dog and your wrist.

If your dog has a thick, long coat, this is a good option

get this! If you own a poodle, you'll know what I'm talking about. especially if it is a standard. This brush is an absolute must-have. I've had standard poodles my entire life (I'm 48 and grew up with them), and for the initial "brush out," I've always used a standard-length pin slicker brush (purchased from my fantastic groomer). " It usually takes about an hour to complete this procedure. " After that, I use a comb to go over the entire coat again to get down to the skin (in search of more mats). My white standard is currently clipped in a continental style and has a sheepskin coat. For those unfamiliar with clip names, it's a wool type coat that's difficult to brush. This is a beautiful clip from the show. You can look it up on the internet. I ordered this brush on February 27th and received it this afternoon, thanks to Amazon's fantastic shipping policies. I was blown away by what this brush accomplished in just ten minutes, compared to the 30-plus minutes it would normally take. 45 with a pin slicker that isn't quite as long as mine. The brush was completely covered in "baby mats" after just one stroke. those difficult-to-reach places Remove small mats before they grow into larger ones. To achieve this result with my old slicker, I'd need a lot more arm strength and at least 20 times as many strokes. It appears to be of excellent quality. The pins are held in place by a rubber/plastic base that appears to be solid. This is a brush that I wholeheartedly recommend. It will save you both time and effort!.

This is a must; brushing my golden doodle now takes me less than five minutes
5/5

It used to take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to complete. The time limit is 40 minutes. The extra-long bristles make a huge difference. Because I didn't understand the difference, I used my cat's slicker brush. br>I use the Safari Mat Remover and this new brush. Since getting this brush, I've only used the mat remover a handful of times! It's fantastic for both Lilo and me!.

one of my most used grooming tools This was purchased as a substitute for the $65 "big brand" long tine slicker
5/5

My purchase has exceeded my expectations - (I have miniature American shepherds (mini Aussies)) I also recommended it to all the doodle owners who visit my office as a must have!.

Long, soft pins are my favorite

Since we moved from Texas to Ohio, I have a short-haired cat with an unmanageable undercoat. My regular slicker brush couldn't keep up with the volume of undercoat shed this time of year. br>br>This slicker takes care of the blowing coat while also assisting in the removal of the guard hairs that she sheds so freely. br>br>Grievances: br>br>Grievances: br>br>Grievances For me, the curved shape is preferable to the traditional "flat" shape, but that could simply be because of my preferences. br>br>The hard plastic handle is the real issue here. Even with finger indentations and a textured handle, it's difficult to keep hold of. It still feels like it's going to fly out of my hand, which makes brushing with the proper pressure difficult. In my opinion, replacing the handle with a silicon one would make this a five-star product.

We've tried a lot of different things, and this is by far the best

There is an Aussiedoodle in our household. He's adorable, and we think a longer floppy coat would suit him best. The brush is better than the last, but his fur still mats in places where even this brush can't help, despite the fact that we brush him once a week.

Effective
5/5

I used to use a slicker brush with retractable pins, but they weren't very long, so I had to go back over my dog's coat with a comb after brushing him with it to get to the base of the hair. I finally gave in and bought a long pin brush, as recommended by his groomer, and it's a lot more efficient. The brush she recommended costs $65, but this one looks almost identical and isn't nearly as expensive. With this brush, I can just go over his coat once and it gets rid of all the tangles; no long-term maintenance required. It is necessary to use a toothed comb. It's been a week since I got it, and grooming him is a breeze. The part where the pins go is gray rather than red, as shown in the photo, but everything else is the same (same blue handle).
