Questions & Answers

The collars that go to this machine aren't available anywhere, even on Amazon. It might seem crazy, but I tried searching worldwide. The number of ones I will need will exceed ?

A tag (that goes on your own collar) is provided with the machine. That's what I use and it works well. A larger selection of tags can be found

Is there a limit on the amount of food we can store?

The dimensions of my body allow me to fit 2 5 comfortably. The bowls should be filled with wet food from 5oz cans.

The Emily Richards review states that sureflap will not honor the 3 year warranty if the product is purchased through Amazon. Does this have any truth to it?

The website of this company suggests they will honor the contract. If you purchase it from Amazon, or whoever you purchased it from, you will have to return it.

Besides my 24 lb cat and 6 lb dog, I also have two mice. Can someone tell me whether or not they have used this device for their dogs? If so, how effective was Is the sensor causing them any fear?

two super tiny dogs (3lb/6lb) and bought the other bowls on this site that were round, but I discovered that the blue collar we received was too heavy for them, which prevented the lid from opening. In addition, one dog is a super scared dog, so whenever the lid flipped out, she would refuse to eat for 4 full days. I even tried to leave the lid open, but she knew it moved and avoided it like the plague. Are you hearing a noise when this lid is closed? Are you concerned that my dog will be scared to duck under that hoop and is the collar going to trigger once he has to duck Is there anything I can do for my super tiny dogs who are scared of everything to make them more comfortable? Is there a collar tag included with this product or do I need to buy it separately?

A customer who is dissatisfied
3/5

Aside from not having a barrier for preventing other household cats from simply walking around the side and helping themselves, this feeder is otherwise decent. While other customers were offered a free rear cover, I had to order one from the company's website at the time of purchasing the item. For the price of this item and the promises the company makes about limiting access to one pet, I believe that the rear cover should If the product actually works as described, then there is no reason for charging extra for it.

As it turned out, this was the perfect solution for our old Skinny cat who would abandon his food alone and feed the Fat cat
4/5

As long as he had this feeder, he had the freedom to leave and return whenever he wanted, and he was becoming a little heavier. Fat cat, however, proved to be far more persistent than we anticipated. In order to sneak food from behind the feeder, he first figured out a way to slide the feeder away from the wall, then jumped over/moved behind it while it was still open for Skinny guy to enjoy food. This problem was solved by adding an area under the kitchen desk to house the feeder as wide as it is (a trash can fills the rest of the space), so that only one cat can use it and that no one can slide it out or get behind it. This arrangement is satisfactory to skinny guy. The next thing we noticed was Fat cat pawing under the front of the plastic cover to steal food. We heard early morning noises from the kitchen, and found him with his paw under the top. Claw marks appear on the cover of the book, as if a bear has been there. By doing this, the cover was being pushed around a lot and unnecessary strain was being put on the In order to avoid this, we screwed in a piece of semi-circular wood This is a rigid plastic that prevents access to paws and claws while It took us carefully to take apart the feeder It is essential to remove the batteries first) and used short screws given that the circuit board is very close to the proximity. After trying glue first, plastic-based adhesive proved to be the most effective It is problematic to bond plastics and it did not For a better understanding of the defensive wall, here are some photos. As a result, the feeder will be harder to clean, but it will remain secure. Thus, in summary, the feeder works well, but your results will vary based on whether your other cats are persistent and clever.

There are a few serious design flaws in this product, which would make it a 5 star product
3/5

Neither of my cats is eating properly and one of them has a problem overeating Taking a meal. In order to fill her tummy, she will eat everything in sight and go looking for more food after He is a very leisurely eater, so he eats his food allotment over the course of the day at his own pace. since the male cat leaves his food unattended after eating a little bit of it, the female cat finds it and finishes eating I think she did a great job! I found this product to be a perfect solution for my situation because my cats are both For the cat that takes a long time with his food, the door in the feeder will automatically open for him without any issue. In the expected manner, he reached for the bowl and the door opened for him. In the next few minutes, I watched the other cat approach the bowl and watched her face melt into frustration as she faced the food she could clearly see! It suddenly became a puzzle for my kitty, who was so clever that she successfully solved it. It took her about five minutes to break into the unit by biting the large rubber button on the back of the unit that opens the door so humans can place food into it. To open this feeder, it would be nice if it required a two-factor method, such as pressing two buttons at the same time. There were two buttons on the unit one on the back and one on the side. So, I decided to try to prevent this by taping a piece of plastic on the back of the unit to cover it up. She could not get into the food this way, so I thought for certain. I guess that was the wrong conclusion as well. I noticed that my female cat began to follow my male cat as he approached his food dish. As you can see in the image, part of the back of the dish is visible because the door can fold up as it retracts. In this manner, females could approach the dish from all sides and eat from it. The second design flaw is that it is not modular. The dish could be improved by creating a hood that goes around it, so that the other cats cannot freeload on it. My own hood solved all of my problems for sure, and I knew it would prove to be a big help. My curiosity was satiated one day when I noticed that the female cat was biting at the door to open it. As I thought, it would not budge. This turned out not to be the case. Once enough biting force is applied, the door will retract and remain open until further action is taken. The food in the box was tasty and she could eat it all. My determined female cat was able to pry the door open without any real problems from that point forward, and as such I sent the unit back. The motor for the door is clearly not powerful enough, so I sent it back. Additionally, this system is battery operated and does not come with a power adapter, which is another flaw I believe should be addressed. There was also no indication that the batteries were low, as far as I recall. The product won't work for me because the way it is designed does not suit my needs. If the company wishes to use my determined, food-loving abilities, I will do so gladly Version 2 of the application utilized the obsession of a female kitty as a test subject.

I found this to be very disappointing
3/5

As a result of so many good reviews, I was anxious to get my hands on However, the first attempt was a complete failure. The feeder is not allowed to be used by either of the cats shown in the picture. We were able to move the authorized cat from the feeder as it remained open. A feeder that can't do this is totally I had to pay for return shipping as well, so I spent $20 on this item. *Edit to add Third-party seller kept a 10% restocking fee. A feeder did not work for what it was intended to, as revealed by a report on 04. 05. Amazon, thanks for your support.

My cat would love it, but it doesn't quite cut it for me
3/5

partially overweight cat (the orange one in the picture) that needs to eat more Unfortunately, I am not able to free myself Provide dry feed to your horse Since eating black cat food causes him to suffer urinary issues, I can't give him food any more. The cat who needs the wet food just isn't able to handle it with seven other cats who love eating (and do get enough wet food twice a day). In the event someone was able to explain a way to fix the main problem I have, this would be a 5 out of 10 This is one of my favorite products. The cat really does open the grate when he approaches it. There is a problem with it in that it does not close when the cat walks away (or is forced to go away that way because they climb over him to eat from it) while another is The other cat has done all the work so this one waits! The time switch has been adjusted and the service is now responding As I have watched it, it does not close until the other cat (who doesn't have a microchip) moves from the nowempty Having done so, I'll now go on to try making a smaller space so I doubt the other cats will be able to squeeze through. Observations suggest that this product may not make the best investment if your cat is crazy determined like mine (knock garbage cans over to see what's inside, open cupboards to steal treats, etc). The Kittens Nest Cat Condo would make an awesome investment for people with good, easygoing cats. The cats I have are not good -/ I wish I had better ones.
