Hello, I am the proud owner of the four-panel set. You can certainly make a rectangle out of two of those if you buy two of them. I also suggest using the mesh cover to prevent the open top from becoming an escape route.
You can use the pin as a door by pulling it out. I'm not sure if Velcro strips can be used to reattach the strips for future openings. br>However, the pin is easily removed, allowing access to the pen. etc.
I only use the 42x42 welping pads that are also available on Amazon. Put a plastic bag beneath the welping pad if you have a larger dog. It does not pass through otherwise. I'm a mother of four. In my pen, I have 5 pound dogs. I am completely enamored with this system!
When two panels are folded back to back, the width and height are the same as one panel, but the thickness is doubled. To keep the two panels together, a rod can be inserted in both ends. Back-to-back connections of four panels are also possible. The total length will be 50 1/2 inches (total length of two panels). The problem is that you won't be able to keep everything straight because you won't be able to put a rod in the middle of the sections, so things will be a little wiggly. However, for the past 15 years or so, we've used these up to 12 sections long to protect, say, a Christmas tree, and they're fantastic. When I'm not using them, I fold them into a single panel width (2 panels) and store them against the garage wall. When my young grandchildren come to visit, I'll be able to "harvest" as many as I need. I wish something similar (and soundproof) existed for the older grandchildren. All- They're all excellent for what they're designed to do.

This item has only been in use for about a week. The poles that are inserted between two panels have a plastic end cap on each end (the top of the pole has a flat cap and the bottom of the pole has a pointed cap), and this item is designed to be moved/taken apart. On the first use, the top flat caps started to fall off. I didn't give it a second thought and put them back on. However, after a few days of using the playpen with our new puppy, we noticed she was choking. Choking is a strong word. We were able to dislodge a white plastic top cap from the playpen after a frantic emergency scene involving the Heimlich maneuver and our hands down the dog's throat. The poor dog freaked out because she couldn't breathe and bit my mother, which resulted in a bloody scene. It was lodged in her throat, posing a serious risk of permanent injury or death. To make matters worse, my toddler was discovered with one of the caps in his mouth the same day - But, thankfully, we were able to avoid a disaster. I'm shocked that Amazon would sell such a dangerous product; no reasonable person would expect the end caps of a new product to fall off, posing a danger to children and pets.

I requested that an employee cut the PVC pipe into four pieces, each measuring 32 inches in length. Then I used a drill to make a small hole in one end of each PVC piece (making sure the holes were big enough to fit a zip-tie through). tying them together). I found a connector at the hardware store that would hold the four PVC pieces together in an "X" (or cross) shape. I also got a few zip-lock bags. ties. After putting the playpen together, I used zip ties to secure the PVC pieces and connector to the playpen's top. ties. It came out even better than I had hoped for! My 11- Like a tenacious mountain goat, the week-old puppy climbed right out of the pen. If your dog isn't half goat, you might have a better chance.
