L-shaped latches made of heavy metal, two per door, with enough weight to keep the L-shaped latch in place. She was bought for a bassett, but she has never been able to get out. The cage I received is made of high-quality materials, has a chip-resistant paint finish, no sharp edges, and only collapses when you want to store it. I intend to purchase another for my other dog for travel; they travel well if you don't need to move it around a lot, as they have a clip-on handle that doesn't work well due to the size of the handle and the weight and size of the cage.
Yes, the outside edges are exactly 38" apart.
It's literally categorized for purchase by size in pounds... so if your dog weighs 45 pounds, get the one that includes that information. Alternatively, go up a size if you want him/her to have more room.
Product Dimensions can be found under Features and Details/Product Details/Features and Details/Product Dimensions. 4x31x29. I hope this has been of assistance.

They aren't, and you should be aware of the distinction. The advertised 24" model of the crate is what I have. It once belonged to my dog, who died late last year. She had reached the age of fifteen. She'd had that crate since she was a puppy. Even after 16 years, it's still going strong. br>br>Because my new dog is a little longer than Gizmo, he would be more at ease in a 30" crate (Gizmo loved her crate and would go in and out of it all day - For her, I left the door open). I've searched high and low for the same model or one with similar safety features. I was delighted to discover that Amazon had the crate I was looking for. I went over the description and images carefully, looking for certain safety features and quality indicators. Yes, I was successful in locating it. br>br>Except in this case. I didn't. The knock-on crate that has just arrived at my front door is a low-cost knock-on crate. based on the ad's description and photo The fasteners that hold the front and back panels to the top panel ARE NOT WHAT WAS ADVERTISED AND PICTURED, and they aren't nearly as secure as what I was led to believe I purchased. In addition, the advertisement depicts TWO L-shaped front door latches. design. The crate I received only has one front door latch and does not have the L-shaped latch. design. br>br>I've included photos of the panel fasteners and front door latches on my old crate, as well as the new crate's panel fasteners and front door latch, so you can see why I'm getting so worked up. The first two photos are of my old crate, but they have the exact same features as the new crate, which is why I bought it. These are critical security features. The knock-out images are the third and fourth. I received an off-crate from the seller. The crates appear to be identical at first glance. You'll notice a difference if you look closely. br>br>I suppose I'll have to go to another pet store to see what I can find. I'm extremely dissatisfied that my funds are being held hostage while the knock-on effects are being worked out. Because I bought the crate in good faith based on the ad's description and pictures, the crate is being returned and processed. This crate and its seller are both deserving of a one-star rating.
The photographs of this crate are completely inaccurate for the 1970s. Size: 90 lb, 42 x 28 x 30 in. Dual latches can be seen in the photos. I WOULD NOT TRUST A VERY AGGRESSIVE DOG IN THIS SINGLE LATCH CRATE HINGED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DOOR. This is a lightweight crate with only one latch. The wide side door, which is hinged on the right and thus opens from the left, is shown in this photo. The large side door opens in the opposite direction of the main door. Now I have to decide whether I want to keep it or return it because of the flimsy single latches on the wrong side. br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. Now that it's been a few weeks, I've decided to keep the crate - before this morning - When our Walker/Beagle had spent enough time playing with the door that the single latch slid open, he walked out. My wife, thankfully, was close by. NOW IT IS RETURNING. br>UPDATE: FINAL UPDATE: FINAL UPDATE: FINAL UPDATE: Instead of going through the trouble of returning this crate, I used heat shrink tubing to secure a fairly strong disc magnet to the latch. The dog can no longer press on the door, vibrate/slide/force the latch to move and release gradually. The magnet will not move once it has been placed on the wire crossbar. The issue has been resolved.
My miniature pinscher is kennel-trained. This is a good fit for her, as she is 16 pounds. With her blanket, she can move around and turn. Min pins burrow in blankets and require a large amount of space to do so. So far, everything appears to be in good working order. It's been a month. The door and latch are both in good working order. When latching the door, you must lift the entire door in order to secure the latch. The kennel will be more secure as a result of this. br>br>I also prefer this kennel to the plastic ones, because the latter can get very hot for the dogs in the summer, and I can just drape a blanket over it to keep it warm in the winter. br>br>This is a fantastic deal, and I would recommend it to anyone with a small dog.
The second one was unexpected and not what I had expected. This crate was ordered earlier this year, and I was very pleased with the door assembly. I ordered another one because the extra safety hasp and straight bar on the mechanism were so useful. I had ordered the same crate for the second one, but it was completely different. If the first one had the L-, then the second one should have the L- as well. I would not have ordered the second one because the first one is more difficult to operate. br>Be cautious when ordering because it appears that the crate will be shipped out by whoever has the lowest supplier bid. Clearly, these two crates did not come from the same source. The first crate was better than the second, which was just okay.
When my dog outgrew her small crate, I paid $70 for a new one from Petco. This one was purchased as a backup to keep at my mother's house when she dog sits my dog! This one is of much higher quality and slightly larger than my Petco crate. I was cheated out of a lot of money! So I returned my $70 one and purchased a new one from this site. I got TWO items for the price of ONE in the store! Some of the other reviews claim the edges are sharp, but they aren't. I'm not great at putting things together (that's something I delegate to my husband), but I had no trouble putting it together on my own. Both crates have made me extremely happy. That puppy is as well:.
It's so amusing that the puppy happily enters this crate and doesn't mind staying there for a few minutes! =) I gave it three stars for travel because it was too large to fit in our car. It'll also take up a lot of space in a big SUV. Aside from that, it was a fantastic buy! A+++++++.
I just wanted to let you know that the product you ordered arrived in perfect condition. After reading the one-star reviews warning that the product is not what it claims to be, I was a little hesitant. I bought a smaller version of this crate 5 years ago and loved it because of the 5-point locking system. I got the one I ordered on Amazon (32 inches high) tonight 1/2/19, and it has the 5 point locking system as described. I'm not implying that the other comments are false; rather, I've had a positive experience with this purchase thus far. I've also read some reviews that claim the quality isn't long-lasting; hopefully, I'll be able to provide an update on quality in six to twelve months. However, it appears to be of comparable quality to the petmate precision crate I purchased five years ago, which has never rusted and which I continue to use.
