I used the 12 inch Sturdi Bag with my 5 pound chihuahua and could easily have fit another chi in there as well. I don't believe there should be an issue if your dog is less than 12 inches tall at the top of his head when standing normally. 10 hours in any carrier may be difficult due to time constraints, but in terms of space, this carrier should suffice. If you have the time, try this and the next size up to be certain. The Sturdi Bag is one of my favorites! It was also my chi's "safe place" no matter where we went because she felt so at ease there. A fantastic item!

Ever. I originally purchased the incorrect size of this bag, but I now have two larger sizes that I adore. Make sure to double-check the measurements! The "small" cube is actually quite small. incredibly, incredibly small My 7-pound chihuahua mix could not fit in there (unless I folded him extremely tightly). Unless your dog weighs less than 5 pounds, I recommend the larger 12x12 cube. Keep in mind that the "cube" isn't a cube at all. Because of the arched shape of the top, the carrier is only the stated height in the very, very middle, and then it drops off sharply on the sides. This means that only when your dog is lying down can he use the entire base. br>br>With the exception of that caution, I have nothing but praise for the carrier. It's fantastic in every way, but two stand out for me: 1. br>br> It isn't going to collapse in on your dog! At all. Anywhere. Every other carrier I've bought, and I've bought a lot of them at all kinds of ridiculous prices over the years, has either mushed inwards on the ends or on the sides. That is not the case with this one. Your dog will be kept warm and squishy at all times. free AND safe from anything on the outside that might slam into the carrier. br>br>2. It has a brilliant shoulder strap design with two points of attachment on each side, and each side's length can be adjusted independently. You make the one away from your body longer and the one toward your body shorter, and miracle of miracles, your dog now has a flat surface to ride on instead of a tilted floor that forces him to lean against the side of your body. It's also a lot more comfortable to carry, which is extremely important when you're on mile 8 of a cross-country race. Your toy poodle has begun to feel as if he weighs as much as a mastiff as a result of the airport journey. br>br>To summarize, this is the best carrier I've ever owned, and I'll never purchase another. The dimensions of this bag are 12x12x12. It will fit perfectly with the flex top. To meet the height requirements, simply squish the top down. The bag is extremely well-made and sturdy.

This Sturdi bag was purchased for air travel with a kitten. It squishes to fit under the seat in front of me without squashing the kitten, and it works well. Because of the ever-changing weather, I don't believe a larger size would have fit. The sardine cans that pass for airplanes these days are shrinking, and the plane is storing life preservers and other items beneath the seat. br>br>The cat carrier includes a comfortable cushion that can be removed. I threw a pee pad on top of it just in case, and the kitten wrapped it around herself like a blanket. All is well because she did not pee in the carrier. br>br>I've used other Sturdi products, such as their pop-up show shelter, and I've always been impressed with their quality.
