Any kennel with a metal door, I believe, should work. I only use it for the kennel of an air carrier. I'm confident it'll fit, but I'm not sure about the metal or wire kennel. I don't leave it in there all night because I'm afraid the dogs will chew the plastic, so I use a metal bowl that can also be hooked up.
Yes, they are manufactured in the United States, and both the colorant and the resin are BPA-free.
If you're referring to the Petmate 100 size (21′′L x 16′′W x 15′′H OUTSIDE), I believe the petite will be the best fit. Both the small and the Petite will fit side by side, but the Petite will snap on a little more securely to that door. Yes, the Large will accommodate a 50-pound person. Nicely sized kennel for a 70 pound dog.
Allow enough space on the top and sides to attach paperwork.

A double dish may be required by some airlines. Separation of food and water – This solves the problem. Attach the double dish to the inside of the travel crate with some food on one side and freeze some water on the other. The airline may fail to mention that you require a double dish (I speak from experience; shipping the animals freight or in cargo would be the same thing), but they will sell you one at the airport. I was fortunate in that one of the three representatives with whom I spoke mentioned the double-decker bus. METAL BOLTS and WINGNUTS are required for holding the crates' bottom and top together, as well as a dish requirement. Because nylon bolts and/or nuts may not meet the crate requirements for some airlines, consider replacing your nylon bolts and nuts before heading to the airport. or get a drill and drill some holes in the crates, then go to the hardware store and improvise some metal nuts/bolts to hold them together before finding out the hard way that they either refuse your crate or want to sell you another one once you arrive at the airport.
This gets three stars because 1) it appeared to be the only option large enough for my 60-pound German Shepherd that wasn't prohibitively expensive, and 2) it met airline (at least Alaska Airlines) regulations. To be honest, I'm not sure what the kit's purpose is. I didn't need any of the labels because the airline provided everything I needed, so I wish I could have just bought the dish instead of the entire kit. The dish also fell off during the flight, so when I picked up my dog at our destination, there was water all over the place. Overall, I was underwhelmed, but I didn't have any other choices.
This set was useful for my pet's kennel on the plane. The food and water combined bowl fit perfectly on the side of the kennel and stayed put the entire time, and it came with three live animal stickers and a form to fill out ahead of time with information about your pet. I thought this set was a little pricey, but I needed one right away and stores were out of them when I went looking, so I ordered it.
I couldn't find a food/water dish that met the strict requirements for my cats' kennel anywhere. It was the perfect size, easily durable enough for a cat and its travels, small enough to take up minimal kennel space, leaving more room for the feline to "stand, turn around, and lie down," and clipped easily and securely to the kennel gate, and I received it in plenty of time after informing the company. Great, efficient product at a reasonable price, plus excellent customer service! They've gained a devoted following in this town, and I highly recommend these people and their products. Thank you, KC Pet Products, for being there for Simba and me in our time of need; I don't know what we would have done if you hadn't been there! (It was likely that I would have died. ).
The items were found to be compliant with airline regulations. Because I couldn't find these two items in NYC, I ordered them from KC Pet Products LLC and prayed that they would arrive on time, which they did, and even ahead of schedule! I strongly advise all pet parents who fly their furry children to use this product.
This kit is a must-have for anyone shipping their pets via air cargo. Although most cargo shippers will give you the live animal stickers for free, the water dish that often goes missing when you buy a kennel (if it even comes with one) is well worth the price of this entire kit.
I already owned a smaller version of this, but when I saw the larger version, I decided to buy it. It's ideal for use with our puppy's playpen or crate. We don't put food in it, but it serves as his daily water source. It's well-made and should last a long time.
The product, on the other hand, meets all of the requirements for sending your pet by air, with the added bonus of handy stickers.
