These turners were purchased in preparation for turkey eggs. Although these are a little large for turkey eggs, the ones that come with the incubator are too small for all but the tiniest turkey eggs. My turkeys are from the past. I can fit six eggs per point side down on each plate. If I try to lay them flat, I'll get maybe five, which drastically reduces the incubator's capacity because these turners waste so much space. You must also ensure that the evaporation mat is flat, or these will not fit properly. br>br>These are the large turners that come with this incubator, so you don't really have a choice; I haven't hatched anything with it yet (eggs are in there now), so I can't comment on how well they work for hatching. This is the third egg turner I've tried, and it's by far my least favorite.
The quality is poor. Warped. The Hova-style Brinsea Ovator Advance incubator only comes with large egg carriers, unlike the Hova-style Hova-style Hova-style Hova-style Hova-style Hova-style Hova-style Ho Bator, which is ready to use right out of the box and can accommodate a variety of egg sizes. I had to order a new set of egg carriers, which were essentially the same carrier but with a plastic divider that divided the carrier in half lengthwise; however, the plastic dividers are warped, allowing some eggs to rest on the bottom sideways, and some areas of the divider are too narrow, causing the eggs to sit poorly in the carrier. I would return these carriers if I were within the window. My apologies for taking so long to respond.
Instead of the 7 chicken eggs that come standard with this incubator, I can fit 6 duck eggs per cradle (of which you get three), allowing me to fit a total of 21 eggs in my incubator. If I can get my hands on some goose eggs, I'll let you know how they fit in these cradles. br>br>.
Made to be used with larger eggs, as the name implies. That is precisely what it accomplished. We had no problems using it on duck eggs.
My egg capacity will be increased as a result of this.
