If they only weigh 12 pounds, it's plenty big.

Okay, here's how I feel about this kennel. I'd give it an 8 out of 10 for overall quality. The following are the reasons. PROS: br>br>
- It appears to be fantastic! br>Rather than being an eyesore, it appears to be a piece of furniture. However, I wish it came in a variety of colors. A darker wood would look much better with the rest of my decor. However, it looks fine against my fake stone wall.
- It is completely secure! br>When I first got my dog, I needed something right away, so I went to Walmart and bought a $40 black metal cage, which did the job, but my dog suffers from severe separation anxiety and messed up his nose trying to get out. There is no exposed metal in this kennel where he could injure himself. CONS: br>br>
- THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE- The latches are a complete disaster! The flimsy latches and tiny screws that hold them on would rip right out if your dog tried to open it. br>It must have been designed with a purse puppy in mind. Because I have a 45-pound Pitt mix, I upgraded to heavier-duty latches and bolts and doubled up on them (as seen in the photos). The price for a set of four was $12.
- Aside from that, I don't think there are any. I wish there were more color options, as I previously stated. br>br>There are a few things to keep in mind:
- The cushion is extremely soft, but it is also extremely thin.
- Keep an eye on what you hang on the hooks because it's easy for things to get pulled in.
- When putting the panel together, you can place the side door on either side. br>- Chew proof gets three stars because it's still up in the air. I'll revise later if it stands up.
- For assembly, I gave it four stars. It is in- depth, but simple if you know your way around a screwdriver and legos. If you don't, you should probably not own a dog.
- Because it is, I gave it five stars for sturdiness. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> br>I still give this kennel a good overall rating after having it for two weeks. Although a couple of pieces were chipped out of the box, the company was quick to issue a partial refund. Also, the front gate's bars were easily bent, but I believe this was due to my dog's insanity rather than the product's fault.
It's a nice product, but it's a little difficult to put together. The directions weren't bad at all. However, you must crawl inside the unit to tighten the bolts in order to complete the assembly. This might be a problem if you aren't adaptable. br>br>This is a project that will require your undivided attention and a large amount of space to lay out the components. When you're fresh and not tired, start putting the pieces together. br>br>When finished, it's stunning. We bought two of them for our two dogs, and they really brighten up the room. This is unquestionably a sturdy and long-lasting piece of furniture.
This crate is fantastic. My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is smitten with his private haven. It was simple to put together, but I gave it a lower rating on the assemble because the packaging was a little confusing (possibly due to user error). We make frequent use of the side hooks and the drawer.
It appears to be exactly what is depicted, and it is very nice. It appeals to me. It was well worth the money.
I adore this cage.
Our puppy feels the same way. Is there anything that can't be chewed? I doubt it, but our new puppy enjoys chewing, and the crate has remained undamaged for the past three weeks. It is a stunning piece of furniture. Hundreds of dollars less than those "custom" crates found on the internet!.
Chips are simple to make. It was chipped just in the process of moving it to its permanent location after assembly, and we didn't even hit anything with it.
I upgraded from a 2" memory foam pad to a 3" memory foam pad, and it's now perfect.
