Questions & Answers

Is it possible to remove the door and put the crate together without it?

Yes, and I'll buy the door from you if you don't want it.

Is it possible to easily remove the melamine floor for cleaning, or do you have to reach in and clean it while it's still in place?

If you want to train your dog in this crate, I recommend starting with a metal crate and working your way up to this lovely crate. Cleaning should become a thing of the past once you've gotten used to it. Line the floor with a dog bed, as suggested by another.

What is the strength of this crate? I'd like to use it as a table, but I'm aware of how much my dog's metal crate sways when she moves. Is that the case here?

Reggie, good day! It is, in fact, quite durable. I still use my two as nightstands on both sides of my bed, but I no longer use them as dog crates because the bars were completely shredded by their teeth and nails. It's very sturdy and attractive; all I have to do now is figure out how to replace the bars.

Is this crate big enough for an 85-pound golden retriever?

Yes, your Golden should be able to stand and lie down comfortably - It's possible that you're not fully upright. Take a look at the dimensions of the Large- a crate that is the right size for your Golden Retriever For the past two years, I've been enjoying this crate. Crate-building is something I recommend. education (e.g., first (in a metal crate) to see if there are any anxiety issues that need to be addressed.

Selected User Reviews For Crown Pet Products Wood Pet Crate End Table

THE BEST DOG CRATE IN THE WORLD! Okay, so when I say I spent hours researching the internet to find the best furniture crate for the money, I am NOT exaggerating! When we first got our puppy, I borrowed a standard black wire crate, but he quickly outgrew it, as it was designed for puppies and small dogs
5/5

It served its purpose, but it was unsightly. We were fortunate in that our puppy was fine in the crate from the start, so we know we'll crate him when we're gone for long periods of time. That's why I wanted to find a beautiful and completely solid option that would look great in our home forever and grow with our puppy. His breed is a miniature Australian labradoodle, and when fully grown, he should weigh 32 pounds and stand at least 18 inches tall. We probably only needed the medium, but due to his height and his preference for sleeping stretched out, we wanted to make sure he had enough space: ) This crate is absolutely fantastic. This newer model has a removable plastic sheet that covers the front door in case you have a chewer (which ours does not), but it still looks nice and is a GREAT option for people who are training or have chewers. I've seen other crates that are a little less expensive (and have returned two different brands), but they aren't nearly as sturdy or look half as nice (plastic-looking and too flimsy). I couldn't be happier; I did my research and read reviews on a variety of brands, colors, and styles; both of the items I returned were less expensive, but it was obvious why when I saw them in person.

It was packed carefully and securely - One of the corners of the box had a large hole
5/5

This is an initial assessment: We put the crate together (without too much difficulty), but we haven't used it yet. The box contained all of the pieces, and it had been well and securely packed - The box had a large hole in one corner, but the sides, top, and bottom of the crate were all in good condition. There's a tiny scratch on one edge of the top, but it's nothing that a stain pen, like the one I use to fix scratches on my floor, can't fix - I'm not sure if it's worth it. br>br>Because it has a slight odor, we've put it on a patio table for the night. gassing. Because I read the reviews, I was expecting this, but it doesn't bother me because the smell has almost completely dissipated after a couple of hours. Aside from that, the pieces fit together snugly, the holes were all lined up correctly, and it looks exactly as we had hoped. We intend to use it in our travel trailer. br>br> We'll have an extra table surface and won't have to lug the home crate around as much. The dogs become overly excited as a result of this. (Because we have two Westies who share a crate, we chose the medium size; it's slightly larger than their cloth home crate. ) We'll have to fold a towel or blanket to fill the "gap" left by the slide-out floor due to the rigidity of the floor, but we'll have to do that for the other crate as well, so it's not a big deal. br>br>We believe that this crate will keep us warmer when we go camping in the winter. We removed the plexiglas door covering (and replaced the screws so there would be no holes to try to fill) because our dogs are four years old and do not chew. When it gets warmer where we're camping, we expect circulation to be fine. We think the color is exactly the same as it appears in the photo. We like how the door opens fully inward (as well as outward), allowing us to leave it open all day. Because our dogs don't bring toys inside, readjusting the mat for closing the door at night won't be an issue. br>br>After we've used the crate a few times, I'll try to remember to update this review. We'll either bring the crate pad from home the first couple of times, or use the new pad at home for a while, so the pad smells familiar to the dogs. In theory, this should make acclimating to the new crate go more smoothly. It's also a little taller than the one we used to bring, but it should still fit under the dinette table at camp. This is something we're really excited to have in the trailer - It appears to be quite appealing.

I couldn't be more pleased
5/5

Update: This end table crate has remained in perfect condition for over three years. and it's still one of my top five favorite/best Amazon purchases (and we order once a week). Original: br>br>Original: br>br>Original: br>br>Orig This crate is a hit with my entire family, including our dog. The setup was simple (though awkward enough that a second pair of hands comes in handy), the instructions were clear, and the finished product looks fantastic. Our dog had been crate-trained since he was a puppy. We had him trained for almost two years before we switched to this crate, so we haven't had any problems with him chewing or fighting it. The plexiglass on the front door was removed (though I think it's a nice touch to have as an option). While we're at home, we leave the door open, and our dog frequently retreats to it. This is the most satisfied I've ever been with a purchase.

It's sturdy, looks great, and is quite large
5/5

It was a breeze to put together, and the color is stunning. I made the mistake of putting it together outside because I didn't want styrofoam to get inside, so I unpacked it on the patio and assembled it there. I was unable to get it through the door. It's big. Take a look at these photos of my 65-pound lab, who jumped right in. (The scuff marks are mine; the item was in excellent condition when I received it. ) I'm using it as a den for her rather than a crate, so I had to pry the door open. It wasn't an easy task, but I'm pleased with the outcome. There's a bed from The Dogs Balls in there.

This crate is fantastic! We did a lot of research before deciding on this crate for a few reasons
5/5

The first step is to prepare. Because we have a 4-person family, having plexiglass installed is a bonus. Month-old puppy still using her teeth to explore the world. When this phase is completed, we plan to remove it. But it's a good thing for the time being. We also wanted to match the finish to our coffee table, and this is the closest we could get (we went with espresso). It's not difficult to put together the crate. It takes about a half-hour or less for one person to complete. When everything is put together, it feels very sturdy and solid. It complements our couch perfectly as an end table. We stuffed it with a nice cushion, and the pups have taken to it like a champ. We leave the door open so she can go in there whenever she needs a break. I'm at a loss for words. This is a fantastic crate.
