I like to sit on the sofa with my dog, who gets into the habit of sitting on my lap when I'm elderly. He could climb these steps to get up there, so that was a good plan in my opinion. That's not so great. The top step came loose a few times, and he fell. It took a little while for him to adjust to these stairs. On Wednesday, the cheap posts that connect the side of the step to the step snapped and he fell into the space below! My thought was that because he only weighs 28 lbs that the stairs would be fine, but apparently they aren't. The poor, traumatized baby is now in a lot of pain. Rather than purchasing the same brand of steps, I will purchase another brand.

There isn't a cheaper pet staircase you can get on Amazon, so I placed an order for these. The stairs were purchased for a trial to see if our grumpy, lazy, biting, arthritic cat would even go up them.
