Our old staircase was too short for my Shih Tzu to climb up to the bed. We bought a new bed (about 32" high) and our old stairs are way too narrow. After discovering these steps, I realized they were tall and that would be the perfect choice. These steps are awesome. The first thing I noticed is that they are so much better than the old ones. They are ready to go straight out of the box and are remarkably durable. When you don't make sure it's slotted properly you can find that it slides down if you don't adjust the height carefully. Our dog is scared of these stairs because they are too narrow and narrow steps do not work for my family. Having now bought a $100 set of steps that I will never use, I have now wasted $100. No matter how much I bribe him, he just runs away when I offer him the steps. It would be like this if they were like 1 through 3 I agree that they would be perfect with 2" of depth.
In a nutshell, My Staffordshire Pitbull Terrier is 4yrs old, and has been diagnosed with (meaning her knee caps pop into and out of their joints) which is most commonly learned in dogs of smaller breeds. The fact that she is so active has caused her knees to get worse and so her first surgery is scheduled for 3 weeks in. As a result, she has been having difficulty jumping up and off of my bed due to the pain, so I bought her Although it took her a few days to get used to them, now she uses them without any issues!
They are very durable. They can be moved around easily, and they can be stored as well. found it the most difficult to go down them at first, especially because it was too steep, so her depth perception was off. But given how high my bed is, I was unable to drop them at all. Allowing it to sit with an inch or so of my bed, I have found that it has aided in keeping it in place, and being on a wood floor, it does not slide at all without the tape! I am very satisfied with my purchase. The product is well made and it is sturdy.
All dogs will have difficulty climbing the stairs because they are narrow and steep. Moreover, the stairs collapsed twice in a row! was not even cheap for an item that has no value. I recommend that you do not purchase.
As a whole, the product is well constructed and well made. It is easy to fold and has a good folding mechanism. The only problem is that its made of solid wood, so it is very heavy to move. The stairs may not be a problem if you are just leaving in one place, but if you are moving up and down every day, this could cause issues.
A ramp seemed like a good idea, but my Chihuahua would have none of it. In just a week, he was already going up and down these steps without prompting. Our (as senior citizens) lives of getting on and off of the bed are much easier now. It's a good thing about them.
There is a tendency for debris to collect in the carpet's fibers due to its thinness. There are longer fibers in it, kind of like felt.
This is a well made board that is very sturdy. My dog weighs 80 pounds and it is still quite sturdy. I really like the stairs!.
