If you want to take your dog hiking or camping, then this backpack is your best friend. If I go hiking with my dog, I'm carrying more often than not my food, his food, water, lash, poop bags, and toys as if they were his personal items. I am walking too slowly up hills while a 70lb pitbull and husky mix, who is completely capable of carrying his own potty, looks down on me. * Pockets seem more durable and there are more of them. There is a transparent ID card pocket as well. This pack has mesh padding inside, which really helps to keep the pouch in place and has a better feeling for the dog. The original included a couple things that were not in the revised copy, which is kind of unfortunate Back of this watch does not contain a D ring. For hiking with a pet on a leash, it's a problem. The top is not equipped with a handle. Having this problem becomes problematic if I have to assist my dog during a difficult scramble or if we have to hold back the dog because of something like chasing a squirrel.
