Questions & Answers

How much would a small fit my Alaskan malamute? He weighs about 145 pounds, would he be able to fit in a large? What if he doesn't fit a regular size? Can I get him an Xlarge?

Since my boy weighs 87 pounds, he is very muscular as well. The malamute might be able to pull it off if it is taller than wide. Booker has a lot of adjustable straps, and if he were bigger, there would still be a lot of space. As of right now, they do not have X I believe the size is very large.

How do I know what size I need?

Mountainsmith has a website and I found it. It fits perfectly on my 95lb German Shepherd in a size large.

Can you fit the pack for a large Alaskan malumute that weighs 150 pounds?

It might be a good idea to ask seller for a better estimate.

Samoyed women usually wear a size 8-10. What size does a female Samoyed wear? It is estimated that the weight will reach approximately. They are about 16 kilograms but should be the same size as huskies, minus the floof, so does she fit in a medium or small kennel?

Make sure your dog is measured. Ensure that your girth fits properly by choosing the right size. If you'd like to see more charts or information, you can check their website. There's no doubt that this product is high quality.

Cheaper packs aren't worth the risk! I highly recommend this pack to you. Our dog and I recently went on a 27 mile trail hike that lasted for four days and three nights with this pack. Despite the padded latches, it did not rub on her because there was a layer between them and her skin. We only had to secure the latch when we remembered to do so. The ball, her leash, and her food were all in her hands. The medium size was ordered for a girl who weighs about 55 pounds. It was a great help to have the size guide to determine what There is no better pack than this one.

I would definitely recommend this to my hiking pal! It's been a while since my fur kid and I went hiking and we've gone through a lot of packs (for both of us) and this is the first dog pack that did what it needed to do. The other packs are always sliding off to one side or the other, no matter how well I try to balance, and you shouldn't strap it so tight it is uncomfortable for your pet. Since I started using this pack, I've literally scale weighed everything she carries down to the ounce, just like I do with my pack. What makes this pack stand out is the way the buckles stay put underneath, and the way the adjustment straps are placed on top adds the final touch. It would have been nice if the lead hook-up was at the tail of the pack instead of the lead, but it's not worth taking away Is it possible for Mountainsmith to make a suggestion for future models? I have also found the saddle bags to be the most roomy I've ever seen. While I don't recommend loading the poor girl down with heavy things (a six-pack of beer does sound good after a long hike, but neither she nor I are going to pack that) having room for some bulkier light weight items like her camp throw and a towel is super convenient. This is what she is carrying in the picture everything to survive an overnight trip Among the gear that must go along with the dog is a sleeping throw, towels, collapsible dog bowls, food, two bottles of water, garbage bags for packing out, a lead, and an apparent sleeping bag. It weighs approximately 4 pounds and is not overly After a trial hike of six miles, she carried it without slipping. In the long run, you will find cheaper packs, but you will save yourself the headache, the hassle, of trying to track down the cheaper packs (flip back to top). As it falls to the left, watch it. Once again, flip it up. If you get this, I'd suggest you watch it fall right and don't worry about your poor buddy's comfort on a long trail. Choosing to do so won't be a regret.

The product is high quality, it's thoughtfully designed, and the sizing is perfect! At last, a backpack that is worth purchasing! The majority of people know that no two dogs are alike, and anyone who has had difficulty buying products for their dog knows that this is true as well

My third backpack I have purchased based on the size chart and, finally, we have found the perfect fit. I measured my body and it fits perfectly according to my expectations. Additionally, the quality is far superior to those that I tried from other cheap brands. Besides the quality, this pack has some advantages beyond it, one of which is the extra attention given to details, which will help make the pack more comfortable for your dogs (like having extra padding under the straps and buckles when they rub against their skin). A good design and high quality are evident in all of the components. Make sure you measure your dog and follow the guidelines to ensure you get a good fit! You should note The dog I purchased is a 55 pound Vizsla / American Staffordshire Terrier mix measuring 27 inches at the girth, 19 inches at the neck, and 24 inches at the back.

The more comfortable the pack, the more the dog can carry

For use at the shooting range, I got my dog a "tactical" vest that can carry her own gear and a first aid kit, which she will wear while at the shooting range. She had to lug a lot of weight (4 bottles of water per side) after I put two 1-pint bottles of water in each side. Several of the bottles were heavy (about 4lbs), so I removed two and it helped. However, walking was still difficult Besides, when she sat, her belly belt caused her a lot of discomfort by cutting through her abdomen. My Mountainsmith K-1000 turned out to be a good purchase For comparability purposes, I tested it with one water bottle on each side of the 9 Pack and it was unlike the other pack -- she could easily walk around, sit comfortably, climb into and out of her car, wear it while riding in it, and even curl up and lie down without difficulty. One of the key aspects of this backpack's versatility is that each saddle bag hangs by two straps from the top portion, as opposed to being connected by a solid piece of fabric as in In this manner, the bags, as well as the dog, are able to hang naturally and are flexible enough to allow the dog and the bags to move around comfortably while maintaining security. There is only ONE improvement this pack could make, and that would be if the top portion of the pack was made of a mesh material to allow for air to flow through the pack and the dog's skin. There are still some really good designs in this pack, so there's no reason not to keep it! Our 5 month old lab is shown in the attached photo. We are wearing the Medium Dog Pack on River, an English Bulldog mix. The dog has a 24" girth, an 18" length, and weighs 38 pounds, so I think she can easily grow into the medium size.
