Just a few weeks ago, I bought a Modkat XL from Modkat directly. The top hatch is also wonky and won't close properly, and I had some trouble attaching the step to the side entry opening. They completely ignored me after I inquired about their refund policy. They also refused to publish my 2-minute video. On the product's page on their website, they have a star review, confirming that they handpick reviews and use only the highest ratings. br>br>The box is fine in and of itself, but it is ridiculously overpriced! I foolishly assumed that if it was this expensive, it must be exceptional. But. It's a box made of plastic. For about $134 less, you can get the same result: a plastic box to hold cat litter from Target's Sterilite storage container. And, unlike with this--we didn't get litter *everywhere* when we used the Sterilite container. Litter gets all over the house when you use the side entrance. I'm not going to buy another one, and I'm now warning people about Modkat's poor customer service. br>br>Application: br>br>Application: br>br>Application: b Modkat XL, may you rest in peace. After all these months, I finally threw this ridiculous litterbox in the trash. Poop and pee started adhering to the super-clean surface. strange liner (which resembles duct tape in appearance). So, at this point, I have to ask myself if I really want to keep spending $40 on three liners? Or do I just want to toss this nonsense and return to the wonderful, low-maintenance life I used to have? non-stop upkeep litter- WHERE CAN I GET A $6 PLASTIC STORAGE BOX? Spoiler alert: a $140 litterbox is currently being dumped in a Chicago landfill! It was a good lesson. When it comes to silly things like $140 litterboxes, I have to trust my own logic.
My large cat (18 pound Maine Coon) has destroyed every liner and box we've purchased for her. She was neatly skipping over every mat we placed in front of her box, tracking litter all over the house. br>br>After a month with the Modkat XL, I can confidently say that it is the best litter box I've ever had, and it is well worth the money. Her scratching hasn't damaged the liner. But the best feature is the top entry, which forces my cat to leave the litter behind and makes cleaning a breeze. I was concerned about my cat's size and the top entry, but she fit perfectly.
Overpriced and unsatisfactory in every way. You could save $129 by using a cheap "Big Lots" Rubbermaid bin and cutting a hole in it.
It's extremely aggravating. Everything is about an eighth of an inch off, and putting it together was a real challenge. The new bags do not fit (despite the fact that they are the correct size). To keep the bag in place, I had to use tape to secure it against the unit. It's impossible to say whether or not this will succeed. I'm very frustrated, and I would normally just throw everything away. However, I spent a significant amount of money on the litter box as well as all of the additional supplies/liners, etc. It's extremely aggravating that this is falling apart after only a few months of use. SAVING MONEY IS A GOOD THING TO DO.
This litter box is a great idea, and it comes in handy in my one-bedroom apartment. In my apartment, there isn't really enough room for a traditional litter box, and I also wanted to reduce the amount of litter that my two cats tracked around the place. br>br>It reduces the overall amount of litter tracking, but it doesn't eliminate it entirely. It does a fantastic job of keeping odors at bay! Cleaning the box is more difficult than cleaning a regular box. br>br> You'll spill litter while cleaning, and you'll have to sweep around there anyway if you want a clean floor, so I don't mind doing a quick sweep once a day, whether with this box or a regular one. The rest of the apartment, on the other hand, has a lot less litter. Finally, my two cats had no trouble "learning" to use it and have had no accidents since I got it (even when I left them alone for a few days shortly after receiving it). br>br>Note that I haven't had to change the liner or anything else yet, but the clumps do easily scoop away from the liner.
So, I don't usually leave reviews, but because I find them to be extremely useful, I decided to do so for all of you cat lovers looking for the perfect litter box. br>I've only had this product for a short time, but I'm already impressed. My cat isn't a 20-pounder (he weighs in at a solid 14 pounds), but he's a strong 14. He prefers to have a lot of space when he goes to the bathroom (he weighs 5 lbs). He even tore the door off his previous litter box because he felt trapped. Anyway, he's a big fan of this litter box! Without any coaxing, he jumped right into it. It's a lot more durable than the last litter box I had. Some people have complained that the lid is unstable, which may be true for larger cats, but it is perfectly fine for mine, with no movement. For its size, it's also quite light. When I went to get it, I was pleasantly surprised. The step (which I discovered when I attached it that if my cat put too much weight on the outside piece of it, it would tip over, which would have definitely freaked out my scaredy-cat) is the only complaint I have with this thing. cat out) and the price (while this litter box is excellent, I believe the price is a bit excessive). Aside from that, everything is great! It was even delivered a day before it was supposed to.
It's a good size, and the liner makes cleaning a breeze. My large cat, however, frequently knocks the top entry lid off because it doesn't stay on tight. Overall, it's a good product, but the lid could be a little tighter.
