As I tried to demonstrate to my cats, I placed them inside, with and without the lid, but the oldest cat did not like I think it's a good idea to keep the old litter box next to it because I took mine away and only used the new one, which led to them going to the bathroom outside and beside the bin. After I put back the old litter box, I removed it so they can become accustomed to the new one and remove it when I see them using it like another answer suggested. Even putting the old litter in the new litter box did not help the cats use it since they were just too weary. The system should be up and running in a few days.
