Questions & Answers

What kind of cat litter can I use in this litter box?

I've had littermaid boxes since the 1990s and have experimented with a variety of litter brands. Arm is right now my favorite. This litter clumps well and is less likely to stick to the bottom of the box, and it appears to track a little less than other boxes. When litter is changed every 7 days for one cat, it also keeps odor under control and provides a fresh step, which was my second favorite.

Which of the following self-help books are you reading? Do you prefer to clean the litter box? scoopless, littermaid, and litter-free are all terms that people use to describe how they feel about their litter Is it a chillx autoegg or a robot?

I have a single cat and a multi-cat litter maid from an older model litter maid. They're the taupe-colored ones. I'm down to one cat box now because I tried crystal litter in the multi-box and it killed it. I wish I could get that model again, as what I've read about the new 3 makes me want it even more. 2 It becomes a manual box in the end. It also claims to clean after the cat has done its business after 20 minutes. I'm not sure how different your cat's poop smells from mine, but the model I have cleans 5 minutes after the cats are done, and even then I can smell it until it's contained. br>I'm still looking into other options that are less than $$$. If you don't like one type of cardboard tray, you may want to consider purchasing a permanent tray rather than replacing it and adding to the amount of non-recyclable waste. It also comes with a five-star rating. Set a timer for 15 minutes. I'm going to try the scoop for free because the litter robot is quite expensive. However, if the version I have was still available, I would gladly purchase it. I hope you found this information useful.

What are the dimensions of the litter area in actuality?

Thank you for getting in touch. The litter area measures 14" W x 16" L in actual size. LitterMaid can be reached at PetSupport@spectrumbrands for additional assistance. com. We'd be delighted to assist you.

Aside from the litter box, what else is included in the package?

What a fantastic query! A scoop and rake cleaner, four waste receptacles with carbon filters, a power adapter, and a ramp are all included in the litter box. Hard-clumping litter is the only other thing you'll need. LitterMaid can be reached at PetSupport@spectrumbrands for additional assistance. com.

Selected User Reviews For LitterMaid Multi-Cat Self-Cleaning Litter Box

Because I learned from bad reviews, I'm happy with my LitterMaid box! I chose this box over the PetSafe automatic litter box because PetSafe requires the use of Crystal litter, which I despise, and I didn't like the idea of a "disposable" box
4/5

That's a lot more waste than I'm willing to put up with. Both brands received positive and negative feedback, but it was the LitterMaid's flexibility in litter options and reduced waste that drew me in. br>br>After reading numerous reviews on each product, I was armed with "tricks" to avoid the common pitfalls with this particular box. Here are the details: br>br>THE MOST COMMON COMPLAINT: "Having to purchase additional items, such as new trash cans"br>SOLUTION: Instead of discarding the waste receptacle when it was full, one woman suggested lining it with a plastic bag. Genius - This is extremely effective! br>br>THE MOST COMMON COMPLAINT: "As it rakes into the waste receptacle, litter spills all over the floor. "br>SOLUTION: Another lady suggested (possibly the same one) that the gap space between the box and the waste receptacle be filled with good adhering tape (photos of what I do are attached). There is a gap, and litter will fall through it onto the floor beneath it. Once more, genius - This is extremely effective! If you're into buying accessories, LitterMaid makes one that claims to solve this problem.  .

The "hack" for Littermaid makes life a lot easier
4/5

Littermaids have been a part of my life for a long time. They've usually lasted a year or two for me, and I've been happy with that. For the current one, I finally realized what I was doing and was inspired by some Pinterest projects to "hack" my Littermaid by raising it up and placing the waste bin over a large cut-out. a large Rubbermaid Drawer with an outward opening I removed the bottom panel of the littermaid waste bin and inserted a large trash bag, which I secured with binder clips to the bin sides. To create seals along the edges and keep the bin in place, I use masking tape or blue painters tape. The trash is then placed inside the drawer in that large trash bag. I have two large cats, so I only have to empty the trash once every 10 to 2 weeks. In my opinion, there is no other option. Of course, litter gets stuck at the bottom of the Littermaid from time to time, so I have to scrape it every few days. In addition, there are two water fountains in my yard.

Littermaid is a jerk!! Complaints are being updated and retracted
5/5

It's been less than six weeks, and it's no longer working. I used to be able to buy Littermaids that lasted at least two years before the gears wore out, but that is no longer the case. The LM-II was purchased by me. 86579 was installed on November 8, 2016, and it stopped working in the first half of March, 2017. I purchased the LM980 on March 6, 2017, and it is no longer operational as of today, April 20, 2017. They'll just sit there with the green light blinking in their eyes. You can unplug them and leave them for a couple of hours before plugging them back in. The green light will glow steadily for a short time before blinking. The rake is not moving. There was no evidence that the rake got stuck and caused a problem in either case. I'm in a bad mood. For this one, I gave $140, and for the other, I gave $135. The original one, which I purchased 17 years ago when my two cats were kittens (and gave to my son, who has one cat), is still in good working order. I'm in a bad mood right now. br>I purchased this on Amazon. com, LLC, but it's been 13 days since the due date, so I'm afraid I'm stuck with it and have no recourse at this point. br>br>***************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** 800- 526- 0650 and I would not recommend calling that number because you will receive add after add; I gave up after the 4th or 5th add and being unable to speak with a human or get out of the add loop. br>br>I decided that if I actually spoke to someone about my problems, I should probably register both Littermaids that were not working. I found a warranty phone number at the bottom of the page after it was submitted and wrote it down when I registered them. Use the phone number that appears on the page. I won't include the phone number because you must first register your product. br>When I dialed the number, I was immediately connected to a live person who was extremely helpful. (Christina, please accept my heartfelt gratitude! )br>She insisted that I first try to reset the Littermaid. br>Kneel next to the dumping station, close to where the ramp is if you attached it. The point furthest away from you should be the battery compartment. Take your finger and follow the inside of the track that the rake's wheel travels in on the right side, starting at the battery compartment. A button will be found inside the track just before the dumping station. To reset the rake, press the button ten times. I unplugged and replugged the unit, then repeated the reset procedure without success. After turning the unit off and back on, the rake did not move as it should. She came to the conclusion that it was indeed a dead unit at that point. br>The model number and serial number are required (the serial number can be found on the second sticker in the battery compartment). Because they are guaranteed for one year, they will take your name and address and send you a brand new unit to replace the dead one. She took down my information for both non-working Littermaids on April 21, 2017, and today, April 26, 2017, I received two brand new replacement units. (You are not required to send them your broken unit. ) )br>I can't say enough good things about a company that stands behind its products. Since my two boys were kittens seventeen years ago, I've been using Littermaids. I've never used anything else, and they work perfectly for me as long as you use the right litter and fill to the right level. br>Many thanks for a product that has proven to be extremely beneficial to my two senior cats.
