The side walls are not self-cleaning and must be purchased separately from the CatGenie. The CatGenie cleans itself, but the water does not reach all the way up the sidewalls. My sidewalls, on the other hand, have remained relatively clean for months.
It appears to be the only size available for any Cat Genie. But, yes, I purchased the AI version, which is perfect for my Cat Genie.
To begin, this is simply the CatGenie unit's sidewalls and accessories. The only tools required to connect the CatGenie units are a wrench to remove the toilet hose from the water valve and the same wrench to connect the included t-connector. connect the toilet's water hose to the t-connector and connect the adapter to the valve adapter. FYI- You'll need a flexible hose for the toilet fill line if you don't already have one; in most cases, the set-up is simple. Your CatGenie will be up and running in less than ten minutes.

After purchasing my fourth "self-cleaning cat box" of a different type, I realized I could have saved the money and purchased this instead. br>It took me about 10 minutes to install in my laundry room, which already had a drain. br>At first, I set it to the recommended "cat mode," which cleans it whenever one of my two cats enters. Well, that was quickly becoming a waste because they were going in not only to do their business but also to see where their stuff went, so the detector said, "Hey, I saw a cat, let me start cleaning again. "br>Well, I figured I could handle 6 hours of cat smell in my laundry room, which is closed off from the rest of the house, so I set it to clean 4 times a day. I haven't seen or smelled any other reviews of burning cat crap or anything like that, so this is fantastic. I put off writing this review in the hopes that it would appear later. Nope, nothing has been done in the way of maintenance. As for the pellets getting all over you, I'm not sure what you're talking about. I placed a tray beneath the cat genie, which was supported by a three-sided frame made of 2x2 boards. A fluorescent light's plastic screen is placed on top of the boards. (It has plastic squares) The cats get out, their paws open due to the screen, and the pellets fall into the tray; I haven't had to toss them back in yet, but if it gets too full, I'll toss them back in. br>The issue has been resolved. It's fantastic! br>.
The other prefers to go outside, which is fine as long as it is an option. The fact that I no longer have to deal with the small of a smaller box is fantastic to me because I always felt like you could smell it no matter how often I cleaned it. With the CatGenie, you'll never have to worry about that. I've had mine for a little over eight months. I had to return the processor because it stopped working under warranty, but the manufacturer was fantastic about getting a replacement out to me as soon as possible. I was concerned because it had broken so quickly. So, as things break every now and then (? ), I'll have to refrain from saying anything else about it. I've tried everything I can to keep the litter from falling to the floor. I bought the side walls, which helped (a little), but they didn't stop the mess. Because my single cat is too big to fit in the entire enclosure, I can't say if that would be of any use. Keep the manuals handy because there seem to be a lot of notices and beeps that you'll need to look up to see what they're telling you to do or look at right now.
I have a love hate relationship with my CatGenie, but I am 100% satisfied with my purchase of side walls. My cats were accustomed to using a deep litter box that they could dig into, and they always peed on the box's side wall (which was usually a 6" height plastic storage bin). )br>Because my female cats couldn't pee low enough to keep it in the CatGenie, these (expensive) walls were ideal! They also reduce scatter, which necessitates the use of a rug to prevent granules from strewn across your entire home. If you're on the fence about getting the side walls or if you're wondering if they'll help your cat get used to the CatGenie, I highly recommend it!.
It performs admirably and, after a cleaning cycle, the entire room smells pleasant. It took my husband only a few minutes to put it together. br>br>My cat is relatively easy to train to use a new litter box, but he is wary of strange noises, so I was a little worried about getting him to use the CatGenie. I started by moving his litter box halfway between its previous location and the Genie. I also began running the Genie while my cat was nearby, providing him with treats to encourage him to approach it. I never dragged him close to it or forced him into it. After that, I placed the litter box right next to the Genie and resumed the running/treating routine. Finally, I placed his litter box next to the Genie but dumped all of the litter out and sprinkled a smidgeon of catnip in the granules (though I'm not sure the manufacturer recommends this). My cat immediately began to use the Genie and has never left it. It took about three days to complete the process.
My mother moved in with me and has a cat, so I bought this for her. br>br>I'm not a big fan of cats, and I despise having to clean up after them. br>br>This is something that actually works. You'd never guess that I have a cat in my house. Except when he's using it, there's no odor. It's extremely clean and has been trouble-free for the past six months. br>br>If you absolutely must have a cat but despise the smell, this is a must-have item.
This is something you'll want if you have cats. It was connected to the washer's plumbing by my husband. We have two cats, and when my daughter visits every other weekend, we have three. We don't have a "smell" from the cat box any longer, and I love that you can program when to scoop out and wash it, or do it manually if necessary. Cats were unaffected by the change. even the pickiest of them all. We purchased additional litter but have yet to use it. We bought the height guards, but hubby hasn't had time to put them on yet, and since there isn't any litter on the floor, it's just a precaution.
What cat owner doesn't have at least one of these? WHY did I waste so much time cleaning a litter box when there was this magical machine? Wow, I've squandered a lot of time scooping cat poop. NOT ONCE MORE! Why not buy one of these if you believe in big-ticket items like washers, dryers, and refrigerators? Oh, my goodness, I wish I'd known about this years ago! "No more cat poop!" chant with me. "There will be no more cat feces!".
Keeping the granules in place is a little more difficult. I bought it primarily because I have one kitty who likes to raise her little booty halfway through tinkle time and end up going over the pan's sides. She won't be able to make it over because these are too high.
