The material is identical to that used in Menards or Home Depot's plastic basement utility sinks. I don't use the liners either, but I've noticed that very little seems to adhere to this box. You can get it as clean and white as it was when it first came out of the box after completely emptying it of litter for that once-in-a-while scrub down. and with a minimum of effort. I've had mine for about two or three years and it's still in excellent condition, with no warping, odor, or discoloration, and only a few shallow scratch marks. There are three cats in my house.
The bottom of the box as well as the box itself are both smooth. There are no ridges or recesses in this material. Litter sticking to the sides or bottom has never been an issue for me. I use clumping litter that is light in weight.
The opening on the front panel is 16 1/2 inches high and 14 inches wide (the top lid sticks out a little). The opening where the cat enters is 8 inches wide and 10 inches high, and it is 6 1/2 inches off the ground. Because I had a mat under my tape measure, it didn't quite hit the floor. I hope this information is useful.
This box appears to be a good fit for your young lady. I have a 6-year-old brother and sister whom I recently adopted four months ago. When they have to go to the bathroom, they both stand up. For me, this was the most suitable option. I did a lot of research on high boxes and wasn't sure if my lazy kitties would want to jump that high to use the boxes with top openings. I wasn't thrilled with the price, but it does include the tarp, as well as a scooper and a material liner. My cats both have claws, which was a concern because replacement liners cost $20. However, everything has gone well thus far. DEF compensates for having to clean the litter room's wall and floor by charging a small additional fee. There is also no seam for urine to get caught in (as there is with regular hooded boxes).

I really like it! My 18 lb. Because it is seamless, fatty catty can now use the litterbox without urine spraying out, unlike my old one, which was two pieces and leaked through the cracks. To demonstrate the size difference, I took a picture of both boxes side by side.
Initially, the price of this box, like that of many others, deterred me from purchasing it, despite the fact that it is a fantastic idea. But in the end, I'm glad I did. br>My 17-year-old cat has ALWAYS had a high pee-to-cat ratio. er, and it's been nearly impossible to find a litter box large enough to accommodate this. I tried using the pans with the top entry, but my cat refused to use them. br>This litter box is brilliant, and my cat now prefers it to all other litter boxes in the house. br>Because I live in a condo, I have limited space for litter boxes. My cat had decided to start peeing in the dining room, so I HAD to put one there. This box is small (but not too small!) and compact. ) and unobtrusive, and it easily fits in the corner of my dining room! My hardwood floors are no longer in jeopardy! It was well worth the money!.
We've had this box for about 6 months and decided to write a review after reading a comment that said it wasn't suitable for large cats. I have a 7-year-old male cat who is neutered and stays inside all of the time. As a result, he's a big feline. We've never had a problem with 25 pounds. He'll be able to get in and out with ease. I like the flip lid because it makes cleaning easier, and because he pees on his back feet, his spraying stays in the box. I would recommend this box to anyone who has a cat that is larger than a small.
My two cats appear to be in a race to see who can pee the most out of the litter box. Because one of my cats has arthritis, I can't use the dive-in style cat box that is typically recommended for high pee'ers, and I seriously doubt my other cat would use it given his temperament. After exhausting all other options, I was contemplating how to turn a 10 gallon Rubbermaid storage bin into a functional cat box when I came across a blog that recommended this cat box for high pee'ers. It's perfect; no pee has escaped the confines of the box thus far, and I like the feel and quality of the construction. In addition, the litter liner will make full-exchange days much more convenient.
There are some serious flaws in this product. Bought this litter box because of the lack of a seam in the middle (like 99% of the litter boxes out there) that my cat always seemed to aim at, and urine% For years, that was a major source of annoyance! So I was really hoping this would be the box equivalent of the holy grail. The Pros: br>br>The Pros: br>br>The Pros: br>b
- There's no more pee getting through the seam! Yay!
- It looks nice, and it's easy to open the top half or all the way. br>br>What's not so nice:
- The liner, which I was excited about, had seams and didn't fit perfectly (the top would droop inwards between the hooks that weren't holding it up), making the interior appear even smaller. I quickly stopped using it because of the stitching and seams, which made it difficult to clean.
- On the inside, there are hard square corners and a small ledge about 6" up from the bottom where urine collects and the litter gets stuck (see photo).
- The scoop (interior is a few inches smaller than ideal, width-wise) has very square corners with little room for maneuvering. wise) make it more difficult to clean br>Contrary to popular belief, the following is a list of flaws in this
- Every time I scoop, the lack of a "lip" on the opening that goes into the box, like on my old (1 Amazon seller) box, where you could hook the bag to put waste in while cleaning it, is a HUGE annoyance now. It's the little things like this that make life so much easier. Now there is a lot more litter on the floor. as a result of which I have arrived at the following conclusion:
- The nice openings on the bottom by the floor provide the perfect place for spilled/shaken off paws litter to go right under, making cleaning up around the box now require lifting it and sweeping/vacuuming under it as well. It's a real pain. br>br>To sum it up, this could have been the ideal situation. No, actually, my old one would have been the ideal litter box if it had no seam in the middle. Making a super-functional box isn't exactly rocket science. I wish Modko had approached me first:.
We've had trouble finding a litter box that's high enough around the sides to contain everything because he's a tall cat to begin with. Unlike dome-covered boxes, this is a single, seamless plastic box with no seams where leaking could occur. I wish I'd known about this box years ago - On paper towels and cleaning spray, I could have saved a ton of money! br>br>***EDIT**
I'm not going to change my 5-star rating because the litter box is still great. a rating of one star However, after a few weeks of use, I discovered that the liner is leaking. I couldn't figure out why the pail had such a strong odor despite the fact that it was clean. It turned out that urine had been seeping through the seams/stitching at the bottom of the liner and becoming trapped between the liner and the box because there was nothing to absorb it. SO GROSS. I've since discarded the liner and am only using the plastic box now. In the first place, the liner isn't really necessary.
My 'high flyer' kitty has never had a leak. Well-made and simple to maintain. You won't have to worry about a large weekly dumping and bag replacement every week. I simply scoop it out on a daily basis and dump it into my Litter Genie, adding a little more litter as needed. It's so simple because you don't have to scoop out litter with a dirty/urine-soaked lid on the floor. I keep it in the guest bathroom so that if I have an unexpected visitor who needs to use the restroom, I won't be embarrassed if they use it. There aren't enough good things to say about you. It's a great investment, and you won't have to worry about litter liners anymore. Modko, you've done a fantastic job!.
