Questions & Answers

Is it necessary to first trim the nail?

If you trim your nails first, it will last longer.

My 16-pound cat has unusually small feet for a cat of his size. Should I go for the medium or large size?

I'd go with medium if he's just chunky. I'd go with large if he's a large-boned cat.

In the kit, how many clue tubes are included?

40 nail caps, 2 (TWO) Soft Claw Glue tubes, 6 (SIX) Applicator tips, and 2 (TWO) Soft Claw Glue tubes

Will these obstruct a kitten's ability to learn to scratch on a scratching post?

I used them on our adult cat first. They don't appear to be interfering with his usual scratching. When his cap is removed, his claw catches on fabrics, which irritates him.

There has been a shift

Something in the glue's formula has changed, I believe. Is it possible that we got a faulty glue? I've had these for at least 6 years and they've always worked well for me. They were there for a long time. I had dozens of extra caps from various old sets that needed to be used up, so I ordered just glue. They were only there for a couple of days. I assumed the glue was simply bad and possibly counterfeit, so I tossed the glue and old caps and decided to simply purchase a new complete set. Because the glue appeared to be less sticky, I immediately suspected I'd have the same issue. I spilled some on my skin and didn't have any issues with skin adhesion like I had in the past; I found caps scattered all over the house within hours, and by the end of the second day, he hadn't put one on. I've been successfully applying these caps for years, so I know what to do. Now I'm undecided about whether I should abandon this product altogether or go to the pet store and buy a set in the hopes that this was just a bad batch of glue.

They're even better than we expected, and they stay in place! We're blown away by how well they're working! Our big cat can be quite aggressive when he's playing, and he doesn't seem to realize how much damage his massive claws cause to our skin

He was giving my 7-year-old far too many big, deep scratches. We decided to give these a shot because we don't want him to lose his claws. Because our cat despises being "messed with," I had low expectations for how well the process of putting them on would go. Brushing, nail clipping, and other forms of fussing are not permitted. It took three of us to finish it, but it turned out better than I had hoped. We wrapped him in a towel, one paw out, and my husband held him while I slid the soft claws on that we'd prepared ahead of time. glue-filled container When we got to the second paw, he began squirming even more, so my son fed him treats while I finished the last five! Then we kept an eye on him to make sure he didn't lick them until they were dry - Using a cat laser toy to distract him was extremely beneficial. He licked them a lot that night after they'd dried, and I thought he'd start chewing them off after we went to bed, but they were all still on the next morning, much to my surprise. He licked them off and on and shook his paws every now and then for the first day, but he didn't seem too bothered. We're on our third day, and they're all still there, and he doesn't seem to notice them as much as before! What a breath of fresh air. Because they're clear and he has very furry paws, they're difficult to see in the photo, but they're there! The precision tips that come with the glue don't snap on, and they kept falling off the glue bottle while I was trying to fill the soft claws, which is our only complaint. It was stressful and messy, and I had the bottle super-glued to my face at one point. glued to the tips of my fingers For the next time we need to apply them, we're going to buy some krazy glue with a precision tip and skip the glue that comes in the package altogether, as suggested by another reviewer. This would definitely be a 5 star review if the glue that came with them was easier to use.

They keep your furniture safe! I assume my cats are at ease because they both smile
5/5

It takes about 5 weeks for them to fall off. Because our vet didn't break out in a cold sweat while putting them on, I gave it a 3 because I couldn't do it. My bengal and I play fetch every day and are very close, but when I tried to paint these on her nails, she put her PAW DOWN! No way! As a result, I hire a veterinarian to perform the procedure. The ride to the vet, on the other hand, hasn't gone well for her. Overall, these are an excellent product for preventing cats from destroying your furniture. They are extremely effective. Plus, if you have a sneaky cat, their little "click click click" on the floor is a dead giveaway that they're following you!.

The Best Cat Solution! Declaw is not a good idea! These nail caps are so cute! This product has been a long-time favorite of mine and comes highly recommended
5/5

br>Here are some tips to help you succeed: br>Purchase "Krazy Glue" with Precision Tip instead of the included glue because it's easier to work with. (Available on Amazon)br>Only fill the nail cap about two-thirds of the way. When the bottle is 3/4 full, push the cap onto the claw, and wait 5 minutes for the glue to set properly before applying to the cat's nail. (Now is a good time to give kitty a brushing. ) )br>It's easier to apply the nail caps the first time if you have a helper, one to fill and one to apply, because there are ten to do! br>As the claw of the cat grows and pushes the cap off, it's simple to apply nail caps one at a time. br>The most difficult part is loading the glue into the nail cap, but practice makes perfect!br>Using clear nail caps is best because you can see how much glue is left in the cap. The colored caps are cute, but they are more difficult to use.

That is not the case for me
3/5

I bought these, but after reading the warnings, I decided not to use them. It describes how the glue (Cyanoacrylate = super glue) is extremely adhesive and can instantly bind skin or cause eye problems if it gets into the eye. It is normal for cats to chew these items off their feet, according to the instructions. Why would I want my cat to eat the plastic claw cap and then lick the adhesive (even if it's dry) by accident? To avoid a few scratches, it appears to be far too risky.

The glue was already dry when it arrived
3/5

I do my cats' soft claws at home all of the time, and I've ordered this product several times. However, the adhesive glue in the tube was all dried up inside the tube the last time I ordered it, as if it was old or defective, and it came with two tubes of glue, neither of which worked. I couldn't use this product because the glue was so dry that it wouldn't even come out of the tube. This makes me hesitant to order this product again because it's possible that you'll receive old or defective glue. However, the last thing I want is for this glue to be defective in some way and harm my cat.
