Questions & Answers
Yes. I own a Ragdoll, and this brush is fantastic on him. His coat is extremely soft, and he enjoys having his coat brushed.
This abrasive, sharp brush would not be used by a human (or an animal with short hair, for that matter). It was a hit with my dog, so I tried it on myself; it's painful!
Yes 100% I have a German shepherd and we love it and it works so well on her during shedding seasons and it works so well on her during shedding seasons and it works
Slicker brushes, on the other hand, are intended for use with medium-sized brushes. breeds with long coats Because there is no fur to pull through the bristles, this would irritate the skin of a short-coated dog. For a Dobie coat (and to remove and reduce dander), a rubber curry brush or a Kong Zoom Groom would be best.

Notice of disclaimer: Because I'm a veterinarian, I know a lot about different brushes and grooming tools. br>br>I've had a love-hate relationship with food since I was a child. Slicker brushes and I don't get along. I like them because they're effective and comfortable, but I despise them because they're a pain to clean, especially without damaging the thin bristles or bending them in an uncomfortable way. br>br>Now, I have a longhaired senior cat who has had to be anesthetized twice to have massive hairballs removed. His Internal Medicine specialist gave him an Rx for a haircut the last time, so we've been on an intensive hair management program - He, on the other hand, despises being brushed. As a result, I'm always switching out brushes and combs. My go- The Furminator is another option, but my main complaints are that it is uncomfortable for the cat (pulls his skin excessively at times) and that its blades, even on the long-term model, are sharp. It's easy to clean, but it's difficult to keep cleaning the blade out when I'm holding a squirming, irritated cat in one hand. This brush is 10x more comfortable for my cat while still pulling a decent amount of shed hair with each swipe. br>br>This brush is 10x more comfortable for my cat while still pulling a decent amount of shed hair with each swipe. It's so much fun to clean - Simply press the button, pull the hair pad off, and it will not fill up until nearly an entire brushing session has passed. Although it does not remove as much hair as the Furminator, the fact that he does not become irritated as quickly means I can brush for longer and give him a more positive experience.
I brushed away enough cat hair to justify getting a second cat. If you want to brush your fur babies bald, I recommend this brush. It won't actually happen, but it's so satisfying to see the fur pile up next to you as you brush your cat or dog for 30 minutes. Porkins' fur never seems to end, so I'm starting to believe she doesn't have any skin at all. She's passed out from all the brushing, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The bristles can be retracted with a push of a button, making cleanup a breeze! Totally worth every penny, and I'm sure Porkins would agree if she understood the basic concept of monetary values. br>br>UPDATE // It's been three years since I bought and reviewed this product, and after extensive use, the brush has developed a flaw. I'm not sure if it's the brush itself, or if it's the constant pushing of the button to clear the fur that couldn't keep up with me, but the push button has now evolved into the most intense thumb workout ever. The resistance provided by the button has added a new feature to this brush that not only requires the strength of ten teenagers combined (9 of whom are looking at their phones, and the remaining one whose phone has sadly died), but has also forced me to recognize my own weakness by testing my thumb strength. Some days, I have to use BOTH thumbs to push down until I hear that satisfying click as it locks into place (quitters never win and winners never quit). On other days, my thumbs are so tired that I don't bother retracting the bristles and instead opt for the time-honored method of manually cleaning the bristles (but those who never win AND never quit are disappointed). Despite the fact that easy fur removal is hindered, I still use this brush after 3 years, and it may be obsolete. This brush is still recommended because it reaches your fur overlords' undercoat when they demand daily brushing therapy.
I've had a number of dog brushes with these wires in the past. When you're not using it, the wires actually go back into the brush. It makes it simple to clean so you don't bend the wires trying to get the hair out, and it also prevents the wires from becoming bent when they're just sitting in your basket, drawer, or wherever you keep your dog's brushes. Because the wires are protected by going back inside, they will not scratch your dog when you need to use it. Excellent product that I would strongly recommend to anyone who has pets, particularly those who require regular brushing!.
NOTHING! br>br>If I had the option, I would give it zero stars. After the first one never stayed in the open (brush) position, I made the mistake of purchasing another. I was looking for a way to speed up the daily brushing because I have two German Shepherds. The first one went out, followed by the second. I had intended to write a review at the time, but I neglected to do so. I found them in a storage bin in my yard and was furious that I had wasted over $30 on two of them just by looking at them. Spend your money on a regular slicker brush instead. It will cost a third of the price of this piece of garbage and will last indefinitely.
I've tried other brushes and they don't seem to get very much hair. Now, I KNOW this cat sheds because there's a puff of hair in the air whenever I go to pet him. I was browsing Amazon when I came across this one and decided to give it a shot, and I'm so glad I did! 2- I give him a brush I use the brush three times per day and always find a good amount on it. I didn't think I'd care about the self-cleaning feature, but it's by far the best feature of this brush. So easy! He enjoys the way it feels, and I enjoy the way it functions. My other cat doesn't like it, but she's picky about everything, so it's not a big deal. Haha! Owners of cats, give it a shot!.
The bristles are retracted and remain that way. While brushing the dog, you press a button to keep them out. Because I don't have a lot of hand strength, I can't keep this button pressed while brushing my Great Pyrenees (who has a lot of hair). I purchased this brush with the expectation that I would press the button only when it was time to remove the hair and not throughout the brushing process.
