It has the consistency of gravy, bisque, or a creamy soup. broth that is not clear- My cat, for example, adores them.

Is this to be served on its own or to be poured over dry food?

It's good on its own as a treat for my cat, but it'd probably be good poured over dry food as well. If that's how you want to use it, it's worth a shot. It's essentially a "soup," but it also contains small meat chunks. However, it would not be a good meal substitute.

Picky eaters who enjoy "gravy" will enjoy this dish
5/5

My cat, on the other hand, is ridiculously pampered. I tell him on a regular basis that he's a jerk and that there are hungry cats who would eat pate, but he doesn't seem to mind. He's almost ten, and lately he's only been eating the gravy/liquid from his wet foods. Friskies gravy sensations were a hit with me, but I had to give them away. Fancy Feast gravy fans and Fancy Feast broths are in the same boat. He'd look at me with disgust, as if I'd offended him by bringing the bowl near him, and then ignore the food until I threw it out. He'd lick the top a few times and then discard the "meat" shreds. He eats these "soups" like a Hoover vacuum cleaner. He can eat one in less than a minute, according to my timer. The vet says he's fine and that he's just a pig. We've had him since he was six weeks old, and he's never been in a food fight. br>br>Cat tax is included in the price. I'd post a picture of the food, but I can't open it without being inundated with cat screams. They resemble gritty cream sauce (ew) and have a vaguely fishy odor, similar to canned cat food.

These are a huge hit with my cats
5/5

I purchased these for one of my female cats, who is 19 years old and has lost a significant amount of weight in the last few months. She doesn't seem to have any problems eating dry food, and they all get wet food several times a week, which she sometimes ignores depending on the flavor, so I'm chalking up the weight loss to simply being an elderly fur-child. lady. I was hesitant to spend so much money on a whole pack of these (they're not available in any of my local stores, so I couldn't just buy one to try) in case she didn't like it, but I'm glad I did. br>br>I'm pleased to report that not a single drop of water was squandered. She can't get enough of them, and they come in a variety of flavors. I've been supplementing her diet with one or two of these per day for the past few weeks, and I've noticed she's already less bony. The other 19-year-old (plump) year- the elderly and the (well-being-oriented-oriented-oriented-oriented-oriented-oriented- size) 4- year- My sneaky treatment of the old fussy eater has caught on, and she now gets one on a regular basis. br>br>They aren't cheap, but our cats are family, and I'm willing to pay for something that will help me care for someone I adore.

Design of the package is poor
4/5

These are a big hit with my cats. Unfortunately, most pet gravies come in foil pouches, which is a poor design choice. This is a set of small plastic bowls with a foil lid. I spilled at least half of it on my clothes the first time I opened one. I've learned to keep the package flat on the counter while slowly pulling back the foil and lowering the bowl to the floor.

For older cats, this is ideal
5/5

I have an older adult cat who has lost a few teeth and has difficulty eating dry food, so we started feeding him canned food a few years ago. Friskies sent us a free sample, which he devoured. We ordered three flavors the following week, and he is much more energetic and enjoys them. They're a buck each, but they're well worth it for my little buddy. It will improve his quality of life as he approaches retirement.

These are a big hit with my cats

My cats adore the gravy, but they never eat the protein pieces. You might be able to cut it up into smaller pieces. br>The cost is exorbitant given the size of the package.

To a cat, it's ICE CREAM
5/5

My cats are extremely picky about what they eat. I've tried all kinds of stews and soups, including some that were quite pricey. I was hesitant to purchase this because I didn't want to waste any more money by donating more unwanted cat food to neighbors, etc. However, when I break one of these open, they immediately perk up and lick the bowl clean. They lick their jaws and paws for a long time after that, and they enjoy all of the different flavors. Not only do I know exactly what they want for dinner, but I also know what they want for lunch. time to eat They've had their appetizers and now it's time for their dessert.

Amazon is not a good place to buy these
3/5

I bought a few of these at my neighborhood Walmart to see if my cat would like them. She devoured them in a flash and looked to me for more. She was obviously doomed. br>br>So, because individual containers are quite expensive, I went to Amazon to see if they had any kind of variety box or other pack, and after some research, I decided on this particular pack. They arrived on a very hot day, around 90°F, the day before yesterday. When I opened the box and the variety pack, each individual container was extremely warm, indicating that it had spent the majority of the day on the truck and had been left in the sun on my porch for a few hours. I decided to hold off on feeding them to my cat until they felt like they had been microwaved for about 30 seconds. br>br>I opened a container to feed my cat this morning, and the odor was revolting. It was like a bolt of lightning. The odor was rotten. Despite this, I rationalized that it was fish, and fish stinks. So I gave it to my cat to see what would happen. She snorted one wiff and turned around. Not wanting to give up, I tried another container, but this time with a different flavor, because the whole place was starting to smell like the stuff. Same. Thing. Clearly, being on the hot truck all day and then left in the sun spoiled these Lil Soups. Imagine taking a bottle of cream or even milk that had little fish bits floating in it and leaving it outside all day on the hottest day of the year in direct sunlight, then deciding to open it when the sun went down. That's pretty much how these smelled. br>br>After contacting customer service, I was told, "Too bad, call the manufacturer. " They were adamant that nothing be done because this item is non-returnable. I had no problem with CS assisting me when I was sent dried out and crushed Greenies pill pockets. I'm unable to obtain a replacement, which I'm not sure I want because I'm afraid the same thing will occur again. So, unless you live in a very temperate or cooler climate all year, I would not recommend purchasing these from Amazon. Because the Lil Soups are essentially a cream-based fish soup, they will spoil if left in a UPS truck with no air conditioning for an extended period of time. Even the preservatives in these weren't enough to keep them alive.
