Avoid! My dog was healthy and active before she ate half of a can and became very sick. She might not make it, according to the vet. She was playing and running right before she ate this product, which should be taken off the market. IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR DOG HEALTHY, DO NOT BUY THIS!.
We use Victor kibble, but my pit bull is spoiled and requires something to be added to his food because he gets bored with the same food. I was hesitant to try Beneful because I had heard negative things about it, but I figured it was a wet food, not the kibble everyone was talking about, and my dogs love it. Kane will find enough variety to keep things interesting, and the price is reasonable!.
My 14-pound mutt has a strong stomach but is a picky eater. We purchased wet food for him to mix in with his kibbles in the hopes of getting him to eat more. Within the first one-half hour, He developed terrifying symptoms, including uncontrollable blood diarrhea and bloody vomit, after only two meals. We had to rush him to the emergency veterinarian at 3 a. m. for dehydration treatment. Now, the food may or may not be the cause of his symptoms, but the link means we don't want to take a chance (and he won't touch it again).
This option was chosen because I wanted more to last for a longer period of time, and three. I buy this for the dogs because it contains real meat and vegetables, as opposed to the more processed dog foods that look like spam. They don't seem to get as excited about it as we do, but that could just be because they aren't hungry. On the other hand, they do eat it right away sometimes, so I guess they eat when they are hungry. I believe the meat in this is of higher quality and contains more vitamins, but who am I to say? You wouldn't argue if you served this to a human and told them it was stew. So this is something I'd like for my dogs. Also, the portions are larger, so I can feed two dogs on one of these instead of two of the other kind we buy, and you get more product for the same money.
My dog, a large husky mix, kept a safe distance from it - She wouldn't touch it (and she eats garbage from the street). We decided to leave it outside for the racoons because we didn't want it to go to waste. AND IT WASN'T TOUCHED BY THEM! When we noticed a stench coming from the cabinet where we keep the pet food, we realized that the foil seals on two of the plastic containers had apparently come loose during shipping, and the food had started to rot. It was a terrible experience all around and a complete waste of money!.
We have small dogs, and they all adore these, to the point where they clean up the bowl in a matter of seconds, regardless of which flavor we serve. The expiration date (best by date) was more than a year away, so they're a good item to stock up on if you want to give your dogs some food security. I will definitely purchase again because the delivery was excellent and there were no damaged items.
