Out of desperation and after a quick internet search, we purchased this PetAg Kitten Milk Replacer, powdered formula! br>br>Our kitty (now known as Pumpkin) - He was only a few days old at the time, and his umbilical cord was still attached. He was immediately at ease with the KMR. We took him to the vet for a checkup and to ensure that we were following the proper procedures. He was a four-pounder. At a few days old, the baby weighed 3 oz. He weighed 8 pounds after about a week. He now weighs 11 pounds and 5 ounces after two weeks. 8 oz. br>br>He is in good health and is developing normally. Yes, he eats every three hours all day, but his eyes are now open and clear, and his fur is soft. His pads, mouth, and overall health are all in good shape. The color of the nose is a bright pink. br>br>This formula appears to work best when made fresh each time, though we do keep some in the fridge for overnight use (I'm still recovering from major surgery). His feces are soft but well-formed, and he urinates frequently during each feeding. He appears to be in good health, according to all indications. br>br>We tried the liquid version of this KMR, and while Pumpkin tolerated it well, it did cause his stools to loosen significantly. I use a small whisk and a stainless steel bowl, and I don't have any lumps. I'm not sure whether the stainless bowl makes a difference - Perhaps a whisk and a glass bowl would suffice. Ren, who was severely dehydrated, was discovered by our trash cans a month ago in 105°F weather. She weighed a little more than 10 ounces and was about 5 weeks old. I gave her this milk a few times a day even though she could eat wet food, and she loves it so much that she still gets it at 9 weeks old. We rescued two kittens from a CL owner who had no idea how demanding kittens could be. Nairobi and Cortez were underweight and malnourished when we arrived. They had been taken away from their mother far too soon. Fortunately, KMR was just what they needed! Both kitties are now doing well and are more mischievous than you could ever imagine, especially when it's time for some kitty milk.

They were on it for three days before I came across the kitten lady on YouTube, who gave me some great advice and recommended this feed. br>On the fourth day, they received the KMR and transformed into shark-eating monsters, devouring this stuff at a rate of about one per day. I mix and remix any leftovers from the previous feeding in the new batch with a fork, then shack the bottle mix before feeding. br>By soaking the bottle in a cup of hot water, it quickly warms up. br>Rinse the mix cup as soon as possible because the solids cling and harden quickly. br>If you don't clean up the kittens right after feeding with a warm damp cloth, the KMR will cake up on them like paper mash, and you'll have to soak and wash them to get it off because soaking once dry re-hydrates the kittens. When you wet it, it becomes gummy. br>Kittens will eat one ounce of food at a time. br>KMR is pricey, but it does the job and produces no waste; depending on how often you feed and how many kittens you have, you'll go through the 28 oz in a week or sooner. br>Now we're supplementing with kitten cat wet food. br>Enjoy the adventure!.
