Questions & Answers

In addition to killing ticks, will this vector also kill cats?

The only thing I can say about Vectra is that I have experienced it personally. Despite being an indoor cat, mine loves to play with toys The dog is an outdoor guy, and I check his body every night for biting critters. The number of ticks that I have had to pull off of him has decreased over the past year since using Vectra (about a year now). It is possible that six of them will be born In spite of his flea bites, he has remained unharmed Since I started, there has been a decrease in my workload I do not have to chase him off when I give him medicine In virtually all cases, there is There is no better feeling than to be happy with someone!

How similar are the ingredients in dog food and cat food?

Vectra is not to be used by cats. Having used the Vectra for several years now, I have had a very positive experience. Unlike the Vectra for dogs, the Vectra for cats is too powerful. The possibility of them getting sick or even dying is understood.

Is it necessary to have a prescription for this medicine?

The Vectra pesticide is categorized as a general use pesticide, so it is regulated by the FDA, not the EPA. It is not necessary to obtain a prescription for any EPA-regulated products.

The 'Green' version and the other one are different, but what makes them different? Neither of these products has any differences in its active ingredients. Is it better to choose one over the other?

It is for cats weighing at least nine pounds to use the "green" tube. You likely meant the brown tube with the orange handle by "the other one". There are no differences in the ingredients, as you noted. The only difference is the size of the dose. If your cat is larger, you may need to increase the dose. A tube of IV solution contains , while a tube for cats under 9 pounds contains There are 27 tubes in a box.

The effect is temporary, but it makes cats crazy briefly
4/5

It appears that some people complained that their cats acted a little strange after using the product. After reading the reviews for quite a few different flea products for cats, it seems that all of them either cause the cats to act crazy after application, or they don't keep fleas away. It does keep the fleas away (I live in Florida, where there are tons of fleas), which is my main concern since fleas are incredibly hard to get rid of once they get in your home and even I will lose my mind if they get into the house! It took both cats about 10 minutes to run around my apartment meowing The butterflies were a little agitated for 15 minutes after application, but then settled down and were not affected any further. It was not apparent that they were in pain, just that they were hyperdens, so maybe the meds act similarly to caffeine originally. Regardless, I think this is a great product as far as flea products go, in that its negative effects appear to be minimal and its positive effects, such as keeping fleas away, are immense.

Due to the fact that my cat was on a , I had my vet recommend this
4/5

I had a more popular brand of flea treatment but my cat still had fleas and developed a flea allergy, which caused her to lose a major portion of her fur. My vet recommended this to me. Within a few days of the first dose, I noticed the fleas were gone, and by the third month, her hair had grown back. must say that she seems a little more bothered by this treatment than she did by the last one the day I applied it. I treat her for an hour, and she seems worried for a while, but after that she seems to relax and it doesn't seem to bother her anymore. Her old treatment used to leave greasy patches of fur under her fur if I wasn't careful how I applied it. This new treatment goes on simply.

This product is not recommended for cats with large breeds
3/5

The flea bites on my 20 lb male Norwegian Forest Cat (large breed, not obese) aggravate his allergy to fleas. There are plenty of owners of Maine Coons and Norwegian Forest Cats who need this information. I gave this medicine a try (9lbs and up) and it is completely ineffective. Company owners, please be honest and state up to what weight this is effective. 9lbs + 5oz IS NOT what it is.

This is a great product
5/5

This is the only product that works for one of my cats who is hypersensitive to flea bites. In addition to losing her job, Frontline's condition deteriorated. It was given to us by a vet to try and has been used ever Although it takes some patience to get on, Kitty does not like the smell of the product and it seems that there is a great deal more liquid than with other products. Cat fur grows back and hot spots heal after using cat fur moisturizer. It stops itching, kills flea eggs, and kills flea larvae.

After using Revolution for a while (my vet recommended it), I switched to Vectra as my cat had an extremely strong reaction
4/5

However, Vectra only lasts for about three weeks before it starts to lose its effect. The Revolution brand of cat food I had previously used (my Vet recommended it) caused a very strong reaction in my cat, so I switched to Vectra brand- Initially, he had large red sores that looked like burns, then he got welts and tinier pink dots all over the area, and he lost a lot of hair on his neck, shoulder area, and A few days after the incident, he vomited, became lethargic, and did not eat anymore. It was at that time I rushed him to the vet's office. Veterinarians were powerless to help, and this is the first time she had seen such a strong reaction from a patient. The experience was very harrowing. However, the Vectra has proved to be much more reliable. A Maine Coon mix cat, my cat spends a lot of time indoors only. It weighs a little bit Due to the fact that I have an indoor/outdoor dog and a cat, I also treat the two of them. In the dog park, I sometimes find my dog covered in fleas from dogs without flea treatments. In the future I will buy Vectra for my cat again since it works better than Frontline, but I worry that using flea control products could harm him in the long run. It arrived in the mail on the date it was supposed to. Shipping was done with a light weight bubble envelope, and the product was not squished on the way.

For the first week or so, it seemed to work
3/5

For about the first week or two, it seemed to work, but then it diminished. I have an allergic reaction to flea bites on my cat. past, Vectra worked for him because it killed on contact with the bites. This time, the bites scabs disappeared for a week or so, then came back and he has been constantly cleaning and licking (itching) himself again. Two days from now, he is due for his second treatment. It will still have to be seen if it.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm able to tolerate it well
5/5

There is no problem. I have tried to get it at my veterinarian's office, but they don't have it Cats get a little woozy when I walk them outside, so I make sure they stay inside for six hours It takes 8 hours from the time of application. Keeping them in check for any new effects is important, as well as making sure they do not rain3d on any. There are reports that it is not effective in my area anymore. It's wrong to say that. It has never happened that anyone in my family has had a flea problem. Each area has its own level of infestation, I guess. In my opinion, the problem is with the OWNERS. The 90 day products are so expensive and don't last 90 days, and I had to give my pets medication to prevent sickness for 90 days I felt bad giving that one to them it had the worst reaction of any I've tried thus far. My loyalty to Vectra will remain unchanged as long as possible.

Vectra works pretty well right from the start, and its durability seems to hold up well
4/5

In our area at least, the fleas have developed a tolerance to the major players in this field. Therefore, the Vet recommended this product. In general, the Vectra seems to work well in the beginning and last for a reasonable amount of time. It still took a while to comb our cat everyday and a few fleas were left, but the results were 85% better than when we used the other product, and the price is half of some of the other stuff out there that doesn't seem to work. In this case, it may have been due to the fleas' life cycle, eggs hatching, etc. , that prevented the Vectra from getting rid of all Just a few days ago, we administered the second dose to our cat and so far she has tolerated it well.
