Questions & Answers
It'll be a waste of time. I used flea soap to bathe both dogs (one weighing 10 pounds and the other 45 pounds) before attaching the collars. The collars did nothing to keep the fleas away. Choose a better brand! I understand that these are less expensive than Advantage or Seresto or the brands you see on TV commercials, but they are less expensive because THEY DO NOT WORK!
That is an excellent question and an excellent suggestion. If you have a specific question, you should contact Hartz directly, but first do some research to see if anyone is currently producing them. If they aren't, you might want to consider filing a patent for the idea first, then contacting some flea collar manufacturers to see if they'd be interested in doing the research and development. You might be able to make a lot of money with this.
In general, topical drops have a best by date of 3 to 4 years from the date of manufacture. I can't give you an exact timeline because I don't know what product you're using.
Not sure. Can recall whether an expiration date was present or not.

I used a topical flea/tick treatment, but my dogs continued to scratch. When I put these collars on, the scratching stopped after the second day. These were significantly less expensive than those sold in stores, arrived on time, and work perfectly.
It's just like the drops, but it's a lot less expensive! br>br>This has been on my dog for six months and he is still flea-free. free. I take him to the dog park every day, so he is constantly exposed to fleas. br>br>He has shown no signs of irritation or other obvious illness. effects. (On the other hand, he despises the drops, and rightly so. ) ) There was a noticeable odor for the first couple of weeks, but it wasn't too bad. I take it off for baths, but he's gotten it wet several times and it's still working. br>br>I honestly can't think of any drawbacks.
I have two little angels, and their reactions to the same collars are very different. One of them became ill as a result of this, while the other benefited from it. In the Pacific Northwest, it's difficult to defeat fleas, and I'm not interested in using poison pills on my dogs because they're older. Because the drops on the back had no effect on either, I use this on one of them and spray the other with clove oil-based sprays, which I adore. It's cheap and effective, and I've noticed that the majority of complaints are about tick protection. This makes a difference because my problem is fleas. It does not, however, remove all of them. I can keep them almost flea-free by using a combination of the vet's best spray and spectricide indoor bug spray. That, in my opinion, is a win.
Two of these cost me about four dollars. My chihuahuas kept getting fleas and ticks no matter what we did because my neighbor's dog had them. We tried tweezers and flea and tick shampoos to get rid of them, but nothing worked in the long run. The dogs have been wearing the necklaces for about a week now, and there are definitely fewer fleas on them. The necklace appears to release a powder that covers their coat, which isn't ideal (you can't see it but you CAN feel it), but they appear to be healthy and there has been no irritation thus far. I followed the instructions and the directions on the packaging, and I didn't use any other products before putting on the necklaces. I also left the necklaces loose enough to prevent them from falling off, and everything has worked out so far!.
My puppy has never had a flea or tick, and I'm sure there are ticks in the yard because my other dog had one crawling on him. Having said that, I do not take my puppy on hikes or through thickets of grass and brush. While one dog is a hiker who manages to brush up against every piece of foliage in the forest and has easy grasp fur for all the ticks, the other dog is a dog who stays in our large yard. My hiking dog will be wearing a seresto collar. Ticks are still clinging to my clothing, but I've never seen one attached. I put the hartz collar on my puppy because she doesn't go out much (and because she's in the middle of the small and large collar sizes, so I don't want to get her an expensive collar until she's closer to adult size). I've never found a flea or tick on her, but she isn't as exposed to them as my other dog. I'm not sure I'll use it again in the future, not because it's cheap or effective, but because when my two dogs play, my older dog likes to mouth her neck and collar a lot, and I'm not comfortable with him chewing on a poisonous collar. Most likely, I'll resort to spot treatment.
I paid twice as much for some natural flea collars that didn't work at all. br>Since these started, neither of my two dogs, who spend hours a day outside on runs, have picked up any ticks. br>With the last brand I tried, I was pulling full-grown ticks out of my collar. When compared to a dog's odor, this one is pleasant. br>I only bother with them in the summer (Massachusetts) and estimate that they last about two months. Replace any live ticks you find after the odor has gone away. Collars are much more appealing to me than drops. They are more effective and last longer, in my experience.
This happened about a year ago, and the collar was discarded since then. I recently decided to buy another to help me keep track of everything. This time, it's causing an allergic reaction in my dog's skin. My dog's neck has developed a rash as a result of it. I'm not sure if the collar is the source of the problem. I read the reviews for this product and discovered another person in a similar situation. So I'm having second thoughts about this product now?.
This is something I would not recommend purchasing. I had a severe allergic reaction to the smell and became very sick and vomited, which caused me to become very dizzy and intoxicated. I dug deeper into some of the one-star reviews and discovered that this was a common occurrence. My dog was behaving strangely as well, and began walking in a strange manner. As a result, I quickly removed it from her. As a result, do not purchase this.
