Questions & Answers

How long will the collar last if it is still sealed in its original packaging?

Because I've had my collar on my cats for two years, I'm sure it will last a long time. a similar one- No fleas this summer, assuming they're still effective. This item is well worth the investment. I've been using them for the past four years.

Is it true that Amazon gets its seressto collars straight from Bayer? I have lost faith in any third-party seller of counterfeit goods. ?

Despite Bayer's claim that if Amazon sells it directly, the products should be genuine, we received counterfeit from this listing.

What does it mean to have a shelf? Just in case I need to replenish my supplies?

So, the official answer is 5 years, and if you get one, it should have an "expiration date" on the tin. But! Here's a fact about collars that you probably didn't know: The collars work by sensing your pet's body heat, so even if you only use it for four months and then store it in a sealed container or baggie, you'll get four more months of use out of it!

Is it safe to use a cat collar on my 10 pound dog?

What makes you think you'd do something like that? They also make a collar for small dogs (at the same price). Before ordering a dog a cat collar, I'd contact Bayer Animal Services.

Allergic reactions were observed in cats
3/5

My sister advised me not to buy these collars from Amazon because they were a rip-off. offs. I went against her advice and bought the three pack on Amazon because the price was reasonable. They didn't look anything like the ones she showed me on her cats (which she'd gotten directly from the veterinarian) when they arrived. These collars appeared to be identical to those worn by dogs, and the dog version would, of course, be too powerful for a cat. One of our cats developed a bleeding rash and lost all of the hair beneath the collar after a week. The other two cats were at various stages of developing a rash and losing their hair beneath the collar. This product is not for me, and my sister is correct--it is not for her. Getting the real deal from the veterinarian, rather than this cheap rip-off, is worth the money. off. The cats, unfortunately, were the ones who suffered.

They work, so get rid of the 'nibs' 1st-update signs; these may have been fakes: These are a bit pricey at first, but I've tried a lot of other flea treatments
3/5

This one is the most effective; however, when the investment is spread out over at least six months, it is not so expensive. I find that after about 6 months, they lose some of their control, even though I leave them on for longer. One tip: when unwinding them after opening the package, look for the little 'nibs' that were connected to the collar when coiled up and are pointing inward towards the cat. Make sure you get rid of them because they can irritate the cat's skin. to elicit a negative response It happened to me once, and I didn't realize it until I read about it. I discovered the source of the issue. Even on the same cat, it didn't happen again. br>br>Update: I've had them on my three cats for four months and they're still going strong. They were flawless in their performance. However, the itching hasn't been as bad as it had been in the previous week. It started licking. I discovered some fleas as well as evidence of flea dirt where they had been lying. It's a good product; however, it doesn't last as long as the manufacturer claims. I'm putting off buying new ones until later. sigh.

There haven't been any fleas found so far
5/5

I've previously used frontline drops on my cats. Killing the fleas seemed to take an eternity – However, it is a process that also entails taking care of the home. br>br>Because I'm a sucker for bad press - I saw some disturbing images of this product practically dissolving the skin of a cat. My best guess is that someone used the liquid drops in the midst of a flea battle frenzy, then gave up and put this collar on immediately after, assuming the drops had no effect and it wouldn't matter. If you're fighting fleas - Before you put these collars on, wait for the other medicine to wear off. br>br>However, they aren't greasy at all. They also have reflectors in case your cats venture outside. I'm content with myself. It's been a month since I've seen any fleas or had any flea-related symptoms.

It's been ten months
4/5

We have three cats: one who spends most of her time indoors with the exception of a brief visit to the patio to lounge, and two who spend the day outside. We put these collars on them in November 2018, and I just noticed one of the cats has fleas. To put it mildly, I'm a frugal person, so spending this much money irritates me at first, but when I add up the cost of the monthly drops, the cost of occasional fast acting meds like Capstar, the cost of any kind of sprays or foggers, and the cost of my time running flea combs through three cats, these collars come out way ahead. These seem to last about ten months for us. This works out to about $5 per cat on a monthly basis. It's not bad at all. br>However, I'm not sure I'd give it five stars. To begin with, the reflective doodads are ineffective. In the first month, they will either not lock on or fall off. I haven't bothered with them in a long time. We've been using these collars for our three cats for about three years now, and one of them always refuses to stay on. Because we can usually find it somewhere near the cat, I end up switching that one to the mostly indoor cat. Last but not least, I'm pretty sure we got some fakes. There's no way to know where these come from because they're supplied and shipped by Amazon. The labels weren't centered correctly, the paper insert was missing, the pouch was a very thin and soft/flexible plastic, similar to a sandwich bag, and the gray of the collars was much lighter in that batch. I assumed it was just a coincidence because it had been so long since I'd ordered them, but all three cats had fleas within two months. The packaging was long gone by that point, and the return window had closed, so we had no choice but to put up with it. br>I'll buy these again, but I'll be more careful about the packaging. These are much more effective than other methods, and they don't bother our elderly cat, who is sensitive to drops. I have three small children who enjoy petting and snuggling with the cats, so the collars don't bother me as much as topical treatments. The Amazon price is slightly less than the vet's, and it saves me the 45-minute drive (plus the exam fee). I give it four out of five stars!.

My cat became ill due to it
3/5

Seresto has never caused any problems for my three cats. This particular batch My oldest cat, on the other hand, became very ill as a result of it. So far, a $300 vet bill has been incurred, and she still refuses to eat. The other two had itchy, raw areas on their necks that were constantly itching. I will never use these collars on my cats again. I'm not sure if I received a bad batch or if they're counterfeit. I'm furious.

This is not an area where you should cut corners
5/5

This method is effective. When it comes to flea collars, don't skimp. It is expensive for a reason, and that reason is that it is effective. I have two main coons in the house and one outside. For the past two years, this has kept the cats flea-free. br>br>The reflectors are hidden in the fur of the cat. Coon fur and domestic short hair are the most common. br>br>Eggs and all are killed by this. Fleas that have already been present can be treated with this method. Allow three days for the process to complete.
