It was my cat's first time wearing a flea collar. We had to work together to put it on! Lol! The collar, on the other hand, is quite large. It has a pleasant odor that dissipates quickly. My other cat, who had long hair and couldn't get rid of fleas, was given one as well. It worked perfectly, but I used the same brand of spot tube on her. Because of Amy, I had no choice but to use together. Fleas and long hair are two things that come to mind when I think of the word "flea. " Do not believe anyone who tells you that flea collars only work around your cat's neck. UNTRUE! You won't find a better value for your money than Adams! 👍.
These, I'm sure, are fantastic. I bought them for my cats because one of them had a tick and they were only allowed inside. I believe it was brought in by my dog, and it hopped off after smelling its tick collar (I use a different brand for the dogs). The problem I had was that they have a very strong odor, almost like poison. As a result, every time I picked up my cat, I inhaled a cloud of toxic chemicals. If the need arises again, I will suffer through them, but only for a short time, as I believe that their use should be kept to a bare minimum if I don't want us all to inhale noxious tick collar poisons. But, hey, I'm sure they work; the odor would appear to keep any living creature at bay.
These collars have such a strong odor that it has made all of my cats ill. After a week, I removed them. These were far too costly to be so bad.
My poor cat got a HORRIBLE scalding rash as a result of it! It was thrown away right away! The visit and steroid prescription cost me $75 at the vet's office. When you try to save money, you end up with something like this. I've replaced his collar with a SORESTO, which is well worth the money! I'm not going to make the same mistake twice.
During flea season, I bought this for my long-haired cat. Despite the absence of a strong odor or powder coating, I discovered fleas on him. They do give you a lot of collars that you can trim to fit your cat, but I don't think they were strong enough to keep the fleas away.
I despise giving negative feedback because I don't enjoy receiving it. These were worn for two weeks by my two cats. When I noticed a flea crawling up my collar - I was completely taken aback. My cats didn't react to these at all. Please accept my sincere apologies for the disappointing news.
I put one collar on them in the spring and it lasts until they go inside in the winter.
