In the end, I left the two beds in different locations, and eventually curiosity won out, so now there is always a cat in each bed. Despite moving them to the top of the coach, I needed to move them. The three cats that I've seen in the 30x24 room are quite happy and content. I uploaded a picture of calico (see picture) in a hot air mattress that fits a single cat comfortably. There seems to be less warmth when a cat is in the larger bed when it is closer to the surface of the mat.
In the past year, I bought four of these beds (2 on Jan 22, 2018) 2 on Dec 9, 2017. I find these beds to be so cheaply made that I am shocked. YES, what you pay for is what you get! a bad bed when my dog had green cushion filler and foil covered string all over her kennel, after having it for less than a week, from a tear (the tear was caused by trying to get the bed in a comfortable position for her). It was also fine for the other dog, and it scratched at its bed to get it into a comfortable position, but NO tears were seen. got the FINAL TWO I WILL EVER BUY FROM THIS SELLER on January 24th, 2018, and once again it has been destroyed. Once again, in more than one place. It seems very thin, and I am not sure what the foil covered string inside with the green cushion filler is all about, but none the less, it is a very cheaply made product, and after spending $80 on 4 of them, I am glad I found out!.
In the past, I have found that soft, strong woven surfaces on the exterior and interior of bags are best. I believe there should be something similarly strong and durable on the sides. As I mentioned one month after my initial review, I have added pictures. Having flattened the bed into a thick pad, the bed is now thick. Except for the side that is against the back of the sofa, the sides are completely flattened. I've found that the "Sherpas" lining of my 8-pound senior citizen Chihuahua's bed are almost totally matted. He likes to trample the "snakes" out of the bed while pawing at them. If I were to buy it again, I would not buy it.
A replacement cover will not be available for this bed. Not polyurethane foam, but polyester batting is used in the construction. While it is a washable bed, (and anyone who throws it in the dryer anyway, take note) it has a metal foil insert that may melt the polyester fill, or make a fire in a hot tumble dryer if left on for a long period of time. For this reason, the manufacturer says you must "fluff dry" the pillow. A product description on Amazon was inaccurate. I wrote Amazon about it. A week later, there has been no change. Customers of Amazon should beware. I am returning the product I purchased.
For my cat, I ordered a rectangular bed 20" x 24" in size, and she is extremely happy with It's not uncommon for my kitty to stretch out while sleep sometimes because she is a bit choky at 15 lbs. She had been sleeping in a 16" or 18" round bed for a long time, but recently has started lying on her back An in and a half It was a waste of time. So I ordered a larger bed for her. I knew that this was her way of telling me that she would like a larger bed. She loves it and it will probably last a long time since it looks well made. I paid $18 for it, which is a great value because it looks good and is made well. There is a lot of polyfil in the bottom and around the bolsters, which makes it very fluffy and soft. It has a nice synthetic fluffy sheep's wool type of texture on the sleeping surfaces as well. Furthermore, I like that this is machine washable, and that it's a good size for cats to lay down on. Be sure to measure your cat first when they are lying down to ensure that you get the right size. Having a rectangle and a size of 20" x 24" is ideal for her because she can sleep in a variety of positions, while in a smaller circle she might be confined to just curled around in a circle all the time, regardless of what she wanted. She asked me if I could get just a flat bed without bolsters to give her more options when it comes to sleeping positions. However, this bed is big enough that the bolsters will not interfere with her comfort no matter how she sleeps. In any case, I think this is the best pet bed you will find for the price. Save yourself some time reading reviews of all the other beds out there by getting this one as opposed to reading about each one separately.
Apollo loves this bed. He can spread out and stretch out without getting too hot. Originally, I wasn't sure his height would allow him to fit, but he does with plenty of room. The little round bed he was outside of was this rudimentary one that he tried to use, but ended up hanging out of it. Upon putting out the new bed, I left the old bed in the hallway since my son thought he liked curling up in a ball in it. After just one visit, he never again got into the old bed. It is only a downside that he prefers to lie on his bed over my lap and I can't sleep during the night It's time for me to go to bed. When he slept in his old bed, that was never the case. The amount of time he spends on my lap has declined significantly, and he rarely makes it to bed with me. It is not surprising that he loves to sleep on his bed. That's great that he likes it so much.
