Questions & Answers

I'm trying to keep stray cats warm on cold nights, but I don't have any electricity to plug anything in. Will this be possible?

I look after a feral cat colony and have built them shelters out of old kitchen cabinets and large Sterlight-style light fixtures. Containers of various types Straw appears to be the preferred food of my cats. Straw is a good insulator and does not retain moisture. You should not use hay because it will attract rodents. Strays may still be socialized enough to use a pad like this, but I believe the crinkly noise it makes would frighten them if they were feral. Plus, the fiber fill shifted and became lumpy after I washed this pad. I haven't used it in a long time. Visit www.cathelp.org for suggestions on how to assist your feline friends. alleycat. org. Above all, please capture them and have them neutered or spayed! Finally, thank you for being concerned about the cats in your neighborhood!

Is it possible to clean it, and if so, how would you go about doing so?

I'm not sure if it's even possible to clean it. I should also update my rating because, now that I've had them for a while, I can say that cats don't use them as much as a regular pad with a spongy type filling. I have two outside shelters, so I put this in one and just a regular little pad I bought with a spongy filling in the other, and they use that one instead of this one. This one isn't used by any of my indoor cats. I'm not sure why; it's nice and soft, but they prefer the other.

Is it supposed to crinkle when you touch it? Both of mine make a slight crinkle noise when you touch them. ?

Mine makes a crinkly sound as well. I'm assuming that's what they're supposed to do. My cats enjoy playing with crinkle noise toys, and one of their favorites is one that sounds like plastic bags. I believe it draws the cats in because they enjoy the sound.

Where did this come from?

The name of the company is the only tag on the mats. On the mat, there is no other information about their origin.

Warm kitty, contented kitty These were purchased for my 18-year-old Jezebel, who recently underwent radioactive iodine treatment for her hyperthyroidism
5/5

Her metabolism has slowed as a result of the treatment, so she's been seeking out warm places and curling up as tightly as she can. So I went out and bought her something warm. br>br>She was enamored with me within minutes of opening the package. She seems to enjoy the crinkly sounds that the Mylar interior produces, and she now purrs nonstop while relaxing in her new warm beds. She's not curling up as much, and she's not stealing the warm spot where we were just sitting, and she's less stiff when she wakes up after a long nap.

Slip- Away from you
3/5

To begin, let me state that my cats have a plethora of cat trees, beds, etc. , that they can climb on or drape themselves over any piece of furniture that appeals to them, that some sleep in our bed, and that some sleep next to or on top of me. Why did I buy a set of "thermal self-heating" shoes? The purpose of the "heated beds" (pads) was to use them in the cat carriers when I had to transport them outside during the winter. Something like that would be ideal for use in the carrier, not only because it would help kitty generate their own heat and stay warmer, but also because it has a "Rubberized underside so they stay where you put them, and won't be a slipping danger if someone steps on them," according to the description. As a result, the pad should theoretically stay put in the carrier and not slide around. NOTbr>On the "rubberized" underside, there are tiny two-millimeter dots nearly flush with slippery material that I don't believe are rubber. I placed the mat on my hardwood floor and stepped on it, causing the mat to slide across the floor. I put it in the carrier, but the mat slid up and over her head as I tried to get my hesitant cat into it. So much for being able to avoid slipping. It's also "Super comfy," according to the description. On top, there's a velvety cover, which is padded with thick, soft, hypoallergenic foam that stays springy for years" - It's only 3/4" thick at most. br>As for whether it reflects my pet's body heat and is "super comfy," etc. , none of my six cats have laid down on it, so I can't even guess. In my opinion, the cost is not justified. br>If you're buying this for your cat at home, make sure it's not in a place where you'll trip over it. It's possible that you'll get hurt.

Outdoor kitty has given it his stamp of approval
5/5

When we moved about 4 years ago, our two cats decided they wanted to live outside our house, so I bought this for them because it's getting chilly at night and they don't seem to like the cat house we have. I planned to spray this with cat nip before putting it outside, but I decided to give it a go without it and was pleasantly surprised when they both curled up on it almost immediately. The large one can fit two cats, but I'll probably get another so I can have one in the backyard as well.

It was purchased with the intention of being given to the cat
3/5

The size of one of the pads was larger than the other. It was purchased with the intention of being given to the cat. I placed one pad on the floor for my old labs because it was larger than I expected. My 11-year-old lab quickly claimed it and has been playing with it for the past two hours, despite the fact that I only opened the package two hours ago. br>The first half of this review was written shortly after I purchased it in late August 2016. I gave it a four-star rating at the time. It's been about a month since I washed it. disaster. Thousands of tiny black things (must have been the thermal parts) exploded all over the dryer. It appears that you should be able to wash your pet bed every now and then.

Excellent value for money
5/5

My 11-year-old Jack Russell has been suffering from arthritis in her shoulders, which has caused her a lot of discomfort. She was rescued from a puppy mill, has a pacemaker, and miraculously overcame protein-losing nephropathy. She is Wonder Woman, after all! Her arthritis is treated with Adequan, Cosequin, and gabapentin, but she still suffers from pain. All she wants to do is play, and it's heartbreaking to watch her struggle to do so, as well as navigate stairs and other obstacles. The use of heating pads is fantastic. The "crinkle" doesn't bother her, and she seems to like it. We "tricked" her into using them by placing them under a light blanket she likes or settling her in one next to us, as she is very picky. They do provide a nice, gentle heat, and once she's settled in, she falls asleep almost immediately! Excellent value for money- I like that there are large and small pads. as well as excellent quality These are fantastic for aching dogs and cats, puppies and kittens, extra padding and warmth in crates and carriers, and so on!.

WASH WITH YOUR HANDS- THERE IS NO WASHER! I was about to order a third set of these mats because I liked them so much, but I double-checked the 1-year warranty
4/5

star reviews and discovered that these could not be washed- The back's black dots come off in the washer, are difficult to remove, and show up on subsequent loads of laundry. As a result, I'm not going to purchase a third set. However, because both cats enjoy and gravitate toward these mats, placing multiple pads in various spots where they like to sit has kept their hair confined to these mats rather than all over other surfaces. I'll be on the lookout for similar mats that can be washed without causing problems in the washer, as cat-friendly mats have proven to be effective in reducing and controlling cat hair. Brushing cat hair off a few mats is much easier than removing it from dozens of fabric surfaces throughout the house!.

These mats are a huge hit with all three of my cats
5/5

These mats are a huge hit with all three of my cats. I bought them for my 17-year-old because she gets cold more easily than she used to, but I'm afraid I'll have to buy another pair because my other two cats are attempting to steal the larger one from her. The small one fits perfectly in one of their beds, which is convenient. I highly recommend these because they don't require any electricity and keep cats toasty warm!.

It's a good product that works well
5/5

It was well worth the money. This was purchased for my cat because we are having our house exterminated and I need to leave him in the sunroom on a particularly cold day. My sister recommended this self-heating blanket because I can't leave a space heater on unattended. He adores it. br>br> And after about 5 minutes of laying on the blanket, I picked him up and he was very warm. The blankets are well-made and appear to perform admirably. I'm very pleased with this product and recommend it to cats who prefer colder rooms or places where an electric source of heat is not available.
