Yes, if the barn has electricity, but be cautious about what you use it for. There should be no flammable materials. There isn't enough room for two cats in this small apartment. My older brother refused to share with the kittens.
I lived in the Pacific Northwest for a while and know how cold it can get. It would be preferable to using something that did not get warm, in my opinion. When I lived there, I used a more active heating pad for my cats because this wasn't available at the time. Perhaps putting it in a kitty condo or something similar to provide additional protection would be a good combination. br>br>In the winter in Hawaii, my cat used it in the house (LOL), but she was very old, and oddly enough, once you get used to the warm weather here, it feels cold in the winter.
Because the heating element isn't very durable and is only covered by a thin layer of plastic, an appropriately sized ceramic heat emitting bulb is probably the best option. Please do your research before using any heater; many heaters that the reptile can climb on can cause severe burns, and it is recommended that you only use heat sources that the pet cannot directly access.
It takes a while to heat up, but once it does, it's instantaneous. When I placed my hand on it, I noticed that it began to warm up. On the other hand, I feel compelled to point out that it is extremely sensitive, and you should not leave anything near it or around it that could cause it to warm up. I had a light sweater on one occasion and a small pillow on another, and it was warm when we picked it up. By the way, my cat adores it.

It was a huge hit with my cat, and she spent most of her time there. I noticed she was missing hair on her belly and her skin was all red around 4 months. From the comfort of my bed! It was causing her hair to fall out and irritated her skin! I'm not sure if it's a bug or not, but use it with caution!.
One of my 15-year-old cats has developed joint problems, so I ordered one of these to help him feel better. br>He was in and relaxing in minutes, despite the fact that he isn't usually an "early adopter" of new items in the house. br>It only took one day for his brother to realize how relaxing it was, and they were competing for turns. br>I had to order a second one to avoid any fights (you know, brotherly love!). br>Both of them adore these and spend a significant amount of time in them. The one who has joint problems appears to benefit from the heat therapy, and given their age, I believe they are entitled to it. br>Warm but not too hot, with the option to get up if it gets too hot. br>The heating pad is easily removable, allowing the rest of the item to be washed. br>It's a little pricey, but it's not a bad buy, and if it helps my cats feel more at ease as they get older, it'll be well worth it.
Roscoe (the orange cat in the photos) is the "cat" in question. He's been on chemo for almost two years and is becoming increasingly frail. I know he's cold because he sleeps on our floor heat vents. There were cats in this bed as soon as it hit the floor. I'm glad I went with the larger size because Roscoe prefers to sleep with at least one of the other six cats in the house (though I've seen him have the entire room to himself on occasion). I saw other reviews where people bought multiple beds and lined them up, and I'm thinking about doing the same so Roscoe has plenty of room - Even with three large cats, the large bed isn't big enough. Despite their best efforts, they are unable to make it work. br>I've had no problems with the bed since I first got it (about 6 weeks). Vacuuming is simple to do - Because the faux fur is a little slick, the cat hair easily comes out. br>I'll echo the sentiments of others and say: If you're using a multicat-based system, Purchase several of these beds for your home; your cats will adore them!.
I bought this for my very old cat who is suffering from an unknown illness at this point the vet just makes him comfortable but he gets corks very easily so I thought maybe this would workbr>Well, I was worried he wouldn't use it because he's a very picky old man but I followed the directions I left a pillow on it for about 20 minutes took it off and I put him on it and he immediately plopped down and claimed it as his and now he stays on it My only gripe is that I wish there was a way to avoid the slick bottom. My cat sleeps next to me at night, so I have the bed next to me, and it slides around all the time. Last night, he actually slid off of it, but it seems to work fine once I get it in the right position. I was almost afraid it got too hot (I checked it frequently to make sure) because he'd flip over onto one side and then the other, but then I realized he's warming both sides! Instead of dueling in a ball in the corner, he now lays with his belly up and legs out, just like he did in his you see years! I really wish I had gotten one earlier! For older cats or cats who dislike the cold, this is a must-have! In addition, he puked on it the other night, and I believe it is extremely difficult to become completely clean.
The older cat hasn't tried these beds because she prefers her regular heating pad (which turns off after two hours). The cat who adores the bed adores it to the point of obsession. br>br>What drew me in was the claim that they heat up when they're occupied. which appeared to be an excellent security feature- However, if this bed is plugged in, it will heat up. Always. Unless you put your weight on it, you won't feel the warmth from above. From below, you can sense it! br>br>So, if we're going to be gone for an extended period of time, I don't think I can trust this, so we unplug the beds, disappointing a spoiled kitty.
The letter K stands for H Thermo- Princess Cutie Mouth jumped on board with Kitty Fashion Splash in a flash. In S. , she lives in an attached garage that is well insulated. In Indiana, the weather takes a turn for the worse during the winter months. We've only recently completed this house, so the garage doesn't yet have in-floor heating. br>br>So I went out and bought something warm for her to snuggle with at night. br>br>There's a 60/40 chance she's in bed or wandering through the woods near our house. We want her to have all the cat luxuries since we rescued her from a ditch, half blind from eye infections. That bed is one of her favorites. When she's not in it, it's cool, but when you catch her laying there and slide your hand under her, you're greeted with a warmth you know she enjoys. br>br>The heating pad in this product has two thermostats that detect when your fritter is laying in bed using their body heat. As a result, the heating pad's temperature rises in order to keep her warm. br>br>The full size of the bed is 16", not the 18" listed in the item description, but that's fine with us because her favorite place to sit is on top of it. Our a/v equipment is connected to a cabinet with an 18" subwoofer. br>br>It's a little slick at the bottom. As a result, I used velcro points around the perimeter to keep it in place while still allowing it to be washed. Princess Cutie Mouth is on board. br>br>.
