It definitely makes a noise. That's exactly what I got. I was given the gray. 21x17 in. black It makes a loud crinkling noise, similar to a baby. There is something inside the dog toys. I'm not sure how well it will go over with my cats.
It's a heat pad that reflects silver. The kind that look like emergency blankets and are sold in stores and catalogs. It acts as a heat reflector. They are a big hit with my cats.

My neighbor died a few weeks ago, and for the past 15 years, he'd been caring for an outdoor cat who was essentially feral, with our neighbor being the only human contact the cat had. The poor kitty appeared to be depressed, weak, and unhappy. I was making sure he ate every day and had fresh water right after his human died, as well as trying to gain his trust so I could find out if he was neutered and get him a vet checkup with shots and such. (I have indoor cats and don't want to risk their health by bringing in any illnesses or diseases. ) )br>br>Anyway, it's now getting down to 40 degrees Fahrenheit at night, and it'll only get colder from here. We don't have a garage, so he used to sleep in the garage of his human. br>br>I ordered a really nice heavy duty outdoor feral cat insulated house, but it'll take 2 or 3 weeks to arrive, so in the meantime, I got him this self warming blanket pad, which I figured he could use right away and I'll put inside the cat house when it arrives. br>br>It arrived yesterday, and I put it out where he likes to lay on occasion. At 11 a. m. , I peeked out the window. He's all cuddled up on it at 30 p. m. this evening! He hasn't laid on anything else I've given him so far, and I wasn't holding my breath because I assumed he wouldn't like this, and I'd end up giving it to my spoiled indoor cats. Lol. However, it appears that it has been approved by the feral cats! Yay!.
These are a hit with our cats, and they're less expensive and more attractive than the self-contained versions. This is a warm bed that has a lot of positive feedback. I had to get a second because they both wanted the first, and I haven't done any testing on the "self-warming" aspect; the cats do leave a warm spot when they wake up, but I can't tell if it's significantly warmer than regular bedding. I just know they'll choose these over something else because they love them. br>By the way, there is no crinkle sound.

It's designed to reflect the animals' body heat back to them, allowing them to stay warm. And for those who say the cat won't stay on it, I say: Place it in a welcoming environment (not on a cold, hard floor). (It isn't particularly thick. ) The pad should be situated in a relaxing environment. Believe me when I say that the cat will stay as long as the area in which it is placed is comfortable. This is a five star rating. The many users who require education are the product's star.
This has no effect on me. It's where he spends nearly all of his time! My cat is a nervous freak who despises the sound of plastic unless she's playing with candy wrappers. After reading other reviews that said it crinkled a little, I was a little hesitant to order it. br>br>At first, I had to place her on it to make sure she understood it wasn't an obstacle or a "don't sit here" mat (she's a little dim and only has one eye, so her perception of things can be a little off). But after that, she's decided it's her favorite place to sit! It's the long, fluffy texture she enjoys kneading, and the crinkle is only audible when she kneads, not when she walks around. It has the texture of a thick, fluffy blanket. br>br>I've only had it for two days, and she hasn't even touched it. Very warm and thick. Due to our dogs, we are unable to allow a stray into the house. We didn't have any bedding when we bought the house, so this will help keep us warm this winter.
I opened the package, placed it on the table, and my cat jumped on it and hasn't left it since. I was not disappointed because the product was exactly as described.
