Questions & Answers

Is this safe for cats who like to rip up cardboard?

My Petique kitty condo is a different model, but my cats haven't shredded any of the cardboard in it- It appears to be quite powerful. My scratching pad collection is quite extensive.

My cat is completely obsessed with penthouses. He sleeps and spends the majority of the day on his back, weighing 16 pounds. Is it possible for you to design a home with a large roof?

I'm not sure how big your cat is, but this top is a good size for him.

This house comfortably accommodates my 17-pound cat, but I wish you could make it twice as big. Is there a strategy in the works?

My cat, who is 15 years old, This is big enough for someone who weighs 16 pounds. He's been on every level, but he seems to favor the middle.

I'm not sure what this is made of. Is it possible to put it outside on a patio?

Only if your patio is covered, in my opinion. We've had our cat's house for over a year and the cat loves it. This is not an outdoor product; it's made of very heavy duty cardboard. She uses it to sharpen her claws, to sleep on it, and to play on it every now and then. And it still looks brand new. However, it would not be able to survive in the wild unless it was protected by a roof.

Chateau has been approved by Kitty!   This is a very cute playhouse for multi-cat households and is suitable for both large and small cats
5/5

I bought the Chateau model, and putting it together took about 30 minutes. The entire structure is made of thick cardboard, and I've included a video as a visual aid. The base level is the first of five levels. The very top level is a little tight and only fits my 6lb kitty, but the other four levels are suitable for larger cats. The only issue I had was getting the cardboard on the base's sides to snap in place by bending it. To keep the base in place, I'll probably reinforce it. Apart from that, it's a very nice kitty playhouse! br>br>It appears larger in photos than it is in person, but it's still a good-sized playhouse/scratcher. From the bottom to the top, where the roof begins, it stands 33" inches tall. It stands 39" tall when the roof is included. It's 23" wide, and I'll give you an update on how it's holding up in the coming week. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> 2021 It's been a year since I bought this kitty house, and it's still in great condition! The cardboard hasn't shed much, and my three cats use it on a daily basis. My cats prefer to use it as a lounger rather than a scratcher, which helps, but it's held up admirably despite their jumping all over it. They've even climbed to the top of the roof, which has remained firmly in place. For my cats, this was a fantastic purchase:.

I was blown away
5/5

This is a big hit with both of our cats. It's very sturdy, and even our 22-pound cat can jump on it without causing it to move.

DO NOT BUY IT; it is a complete waste of money
3/5

It's a pain to put together, and I believe that a large part of the issue was that more than half of the tabs meant to connect the pieces were already soft and warped, making it difficult to fit together. When it was finally completed, we discovered that the bottom had become loose during the struggle to install the fourth wall. We couldn't find a simple solution, so we removed the bottom piece and allowed the bottom scratcher to sit directly on the floor rather than being raised to be flush with the door. The only reason we are keeping it and awarding it a star rather than returning it is because our cat adores it. I wouldn't have bothered putting it together if we didn't need a house/structure as soon as possible after she puked on the old one. Cardboard warps and softens with use and time, but since I was given a used one, I believe the tabs should have arrived crisp and new, not warped and soft and difficult to fit in the slots as a result. Very disappointed/disgusted that I paid nearly $44 for something that is not of the quality I expected. I thought I was upgrading her, but this thing isn't nearly as well made as the Target Halloween house I bought in September for $16. I'm just hoping it lasts a while because she's not rough; if she was, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't last until Thanksgiving. This POS isn't worth it, so don't waste your money.

It's a big hit with the audience
5/5

There are five cats in our household. We used to get those Target scratchers that were double or triple decker - When you have FIVE cats, you know the cute ones that only last a week. I was tired of repairing the roofs and sidings of those flimsy houses, so I decided to upgrade. Given that the cats already have a massive, ballin' ass tree, I didn't want to spend too much money. It is extremely popular among them. However, with so many Wet Food Fiends in your life, you'll find yourself scrolling through Amazon's cat section and bombarding your partner with links to various scratchers. br>br>At first, I was concerned that this would fall apart. We have a slew of chonks in our midst, and their bloatedness has more than once resulted in a roof collapse. Their taco shack appeared to have been blown apart by a tornado. This baby was up and running after only a few minutes of assembly. I was immediately impressed by the cardboard's quality, which is very thick and durable. There is no need to use any sticky peel-offs. Use tape to connect the sides, just like on those flimsy houses. I'm not sure what kind of science is behind this, but it works, and thank goodness for that. This bad boy can withstand three cats running, jumping, and absolutely zooming at insane speeds all at the same time. Every other week, I'm sick of serving eviction notices and putting together new homes for them. br>br>In addition, I was concerned that this scratcher would be too small. It's just the right size for them to jump on top and scratch the sides whenever they want. It's right next to our place of business. from- The cats can now relax and distract me from working at the same time, thanks to my home desk, which is just below that in terms of height. As shown in one of the attached photos, the interior is surprisingly large, allowing two cats to share a space. **Please note that in order for the two-cat system to work, only one cat can be chunky. There is only one ratio to use. If you have kittens, I'm guessing at least four of them can fit in one cubby comfortably. Finally, it's really cute. Cats and kittens alike can run and do back flips off this baby at 3 a. m. with no problem. br>br>Finally, it's really cute. It's ridiculously cute. Is that a paw print with a heart on it? The sight of your furry little demons snuggled up in their tiny townhouse? When you're trying to take a post-work nap, you hear the sound of nails digging furiously into scratchers. It's far too valuable to be handled with care. Simply add the scratcher to your shopping cart; you will not be disappointed, and your cats will tolerate you a little better than before.

For what you get, it's a bit pricey
3/5

My cat adores it, and she is currently sleeping in it, but I have concerns about the quality and price; as others have mentioned, many of the tabs that hold it together were frayed or split, and some were bent, making construction difficult. It wouldn't look right if it stood alone; it needs to be against a wall. The center piece is my biggest concern; it's made up of two cardboard pieces rather than one, and it's not quite big enough to fill the space; I'm afraid it'll break soon. It's only about a dollar's worth of material, and I suppose I could have made my own with a little more time, but for now it'll suffice.

Kitty has given her approval
5/5

We have seven cats, and they were all over this project as it was being put together. It was very simple to put together. I was worried about the size because there were no measurements, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it adequate for our 17-pound boy. He fits in the bottom section, and the top section is also appropriate for his size and weight. I think the $20 was well spent because they scratched it all over.
