The only problem is I was planning to order this when I was getting a parrotlet, but now I am getting a lovebird. Is it okay for them to ?

This seems to be a no-brainer to me. Even so, Google diet for lovebirds may be of interest to you. It seems they like fresh fruit because I had a hard time getting my Parrotlets to eat fruit. Aside from that, I've owned two of these adorable On our first date, we had been together A second one was lost in July by the same team after five It is hard to live without them both The birds have always been a part of my life. I'm not ready for another yet, but no doubt we'll find one.

This product contains an artificial color that is Please pay attention to the section that lists the questions regarding the ingredients in the question and answer
3/5

It is alleged that the seller who listed the ingredients omitted the words "FD&B" In their answer, they used "C Orange #6. ". Volkman sources this single ingredient with an artificial color, so I don't see why they would do so. As reported in wikipedia in 2008, the FDA of the UK called upon food manufacturers to stop the use of artificial colors in food. The EU came into force in 2010 with a regulation requiring foods that contain this color to be labeled The effects of caffeine on children's attention and activity may be adverse. The chemicals in food should not be present, and food manufacturing should not exist. I was misled by bad information.

The yellow pellets are too large for my Parrotlet, although the food is great overall
5/5

Food like this is really great in general. As a parrotlet, I particularly appreciate the fact that it is made specifically for their dietary needs As far as I can tell, the ingredients are very basic (I can read the ingredients easily and can pinpoint their names without looking them Only thing I don't like about it is that the yellow pellet is too large Clumpy things, like clumps, are not suitable for my bird They are the only part that she consistently refuses to eat, and I am concerned that she is not getting the nutrients she needs. Several of the clumps of hay were soaked in water today, and a few were crushed. I did this to see if she was really fond of them, but could not eat them or if she As she ate both the soaked and crushed, I figure she probably won't eat them whole due to a physical limitation. Volkman has only one part that needs to be fixed before I give them full five stars.

Bird seed is a breeding ground for insects
3/5

bugs are living in the bird food (larvae) that hatch. I noticed bugs flying in the bird cage and didn't make the connection until I checked a website that identified these flying insects as being associated with bird seed. It is very annoying to see these insects at night when there is little light. Take a sip of coffee or another beverage to wind up.

These seeds are a favorite with picky eaters! It is difficult to feed my parrotlet as it is picky about what it eats
5/5

It seems that he won't eat a lot of fresh fruits that other parrotlets seem to go crazy Although I had been feeding him some expensive pellets recommended by the breeder where I got him, he did not eat much of it and would rather eat treats. Concerned that he wasn't getting the nutrition he needs, I tried to find out what was going on. The bird food I bought was the only option available to me in stores, so I couldn't find any bird food specialized for parrotlets. His chirps are very loud when he eats this food and I am glad to see him so happy about it. He looks very healthy and vibrant since I've been feeding him this food for awhile. My brand will continue to be his for the foreseeable future.

It must be said that it is one of the few mixes available specifically for parrotlets, which makes it the best but not perfect
4/5

Considering that parrotlets can be picky and wasteful eaters, this kind of venture into husbandry could be costly for such a small amount of food [4 lbs]. Veterinary discussion and avicultural observation have found that feeding pellets to color mutations of the popular Pacific parrotlet may be extremely harmful. So far, no hookbill form has been found to be more likely to cause color mutations than parrotlets. In order for a parrot to be healthy, this mix must be fed with fresh vegetables and fruit provided since the very small amount of dried vegetables in it cannot be ideal. It is common for birds to skip fresh food for seeds like the ones in this diet. Those who are seed addicts are known as In the case of an animal showing such behavior, it may be necessary to leave safe fruits or vegetables in the dish before they spoil so your bird can have its seed mix in the morning before they spoil. For the bird to become accustomed to and accept of fresh foods, it could take up to a year for them to eat fresh foods in addition to the seed mix. Do this daily for several weeks and months until the bird becomes used to it. A further tip is to soak some of these (undamaged, whole) seeds overnight in a plastic bag with moist paper towels Germination indicates that the seeds are fresh, mold's free, and have been stored properly It is safe to wash free sprouts in cold water, soak them, and feed them as a natural dietary supplement to birds. The package indicates a daily serving size of one tablespoon for small birds and one eighth of a cup for small parrots, which I support. Parrotlets eat seed by husking it and discard the husks in the dish, covering the uneaten seed. When the bowl is filled with a small amount of food it is less likely that the parrotlet will lose food in the husks and there will be less food wasted if the parrotlet is By eating fewer seeds and only seeds with the highest fat content in this diet, the birds will also avoid becoming overweight, which is harmful to organ health if they consume too much seed. As stated on the package, it is recommended to refrigerate the diet after opening it to preserve its quality. There wouldn't be any need to add any more high fat foods like sunflower seeds to this diet. Here is the list of ingredients as provided on the package sunflower seed, carrot dice, dehydrated green peas, red bell pepper flakes, spinach flakes, soybean oil, orange oil (an antioxidant). In addition to lacking an indication of where the ingredients are sourced or whether they were organically and responsibly grown, the product also has a few disadvantages. It is ideal to get organic food to provide birds with the best health benefits. Fresh foods are beneficial to birds' bodies. Parrotlets are not expected to break these foods into smaller pieces and are often unable to do so, so peanuts need to be cut down in size as well as cracked corn - both of which are difficult to break apart.

Just make sure this is Volkman's recipe, or the parrotlets won't be too happy
5/5

Although my parrotlet doesn't eat everything, parrotlets can be picky eaters. He likes this brand a lot. Can you please explain why 3 stars is not enough? Since some ingredients are not listed in the product description, on the bag, or on the Amazon website. While I haven't found anything harmful, I am concerned about feeding my pet something when the manufacturer either doesn't know everything in their recipe or their negligence caused them to miss some certain A brief update I previously gave this product three stars, but I really don't think it deserves to be rated so low. Even my budgie will come over and steal their food as my parrotlets love it so much. I haven't found anything better, so since it's the best of the best (that's what my birds say), I have to change my rating to 5 stars.

I like the blend a lot
5/5

It is a parrotlet and it leaves the white kernels after eating the seeds. In his big cage, he lives with two other finch brothers and is fed a small bird pellet and seed mixture now because he was doing badly on this diet. He previously was eating only the australian blend of fruits and nuts. It wasn't that he was moulting, he just wasn't getting the nutrition he needed from this particular blend. I started giving him half of this blend and half of premium parakeet mixture and he came right down and kept inspecting his cups. It was a breeder who provided the cockatiel food to him. Although I gradually shifted to using this, it has not been successful.
