Kaytee Oat Groats Treat Jar for Pet Birds

This treat is enjoyed by all of my birds, including my dove. Oats and Groats were always a huge hit for our budgies when I was a child, and I remember mom buying them regularly. It was only when I had a bird who always pleaded with me for millet that I remembered this little gem! The birds I care for eat mostly pellets, and I don't give them any seed treats very often (I have had bad experiences with sick birds who ate seed As a result, I was trying to come up with an alternative to Millet as the bird I have is unwilling to eat fruits or vegetables, regardless of how often I offer them. As such, I happened to see Oats and Groats online and remembered how much they loved them in the past. As soon as I bought this can, I immediately put my current birds in it. These are quickly devoured by all my birds once they get over their initial trepidation. In some cases, my picky bird can now leave the millet in the cupboard and eat Oats and Groats. The seed and packaging appeared in good condition, and there was no dust or mold to be found. This is a good size container with a lot of treats in it so I expect it to last me a while. I got this to provide my budgie with more variety in his treats and It's pretty scary for him to try something new. The first time he tried these, he was afraid, but he became accustomed to them after multiple attempts. Now he loves them. Whenever he gets a chance, he's likely to work the oat out of the seed hull and then play with the empty shell until I give him another one. When I want to reward myself with something that is a little less messy than spray millet, this is a good reward. Empty oat hulls do not scatter everywhere, as they do with millet. For my budgie, these are also great for keeping him occupied while they forage.
