Tiara, please accept my thank you for your inquiry. Imported dog treats from overseas have been found to contain a variety of problems. As for your concerns, we are aware of them. China is where we import the majority of our dried meal worms from. While it would be lovely to get all of our dried mealworms from the USA, we are just unable to do that. Our ability to supply dried mealworms at a low enough cost is not enough to keep up with demand. * If you would like to feel safe knowing all of our dried mealworms are FDA and USDA approved, let me know. When it comes to importing dried mealworms into the United States, there are very strict regulations in place. We only work with FDA-registered suppliers, and we provide our customers with original certificates of origin and veterinary health certificates prior to releasing goods. In order to obtain our import permit, this documentation must match its requirements. The shipment will not be allowed into the country if this condition is not met. In addition to the physical inspections and checks that are conducted regularly by the FDA, US CBP, and USDA, all documentation is checked and verified by the organizations. We make sure that our product is 100% natural, high quality, and safe by doing all of these inspections. Our company is trying its best to locate suppliers in the United States, but until that happens, you can trust that we are committed to bringing you the best dried meal worms on the market, at the most affordable price. It was disappointing to find the bag infested with little brown beetle-like bugs with wings and the ability to fly that I bought those for our hedgehog! Since they had managed to get free of the bag, I discovered them flying in the house and all over the cage. They were all over the bag when I looked in it! Having to dispose of the bag was not an option. A very disappointed person. In the past, I have never experienced this problem after buying different brands. Because there is no kind of bug like this around here, I know for sure it came from a **UPDATE 4/2/2019 ** The company sent me another gigantic bag of meal worms. It's unclear why they read my review, though they must have read it since I never spoke to them about it. The new sack is bug-free and seems to be a hit with my hedgehog! I changed my rating of this company from 1 star to 5 stars because the customer service is excellent!.
You don't have to worry about another critter coming to your yard and feeder because there is no mess. In the beginning, place the flies on a plate. There was a delay of a few days before the Robins discovered It was an instant hit after that. A Starling took over the roost until they moved in. We have started scattering dried mealworms all over the yard and have a lot of fun watching birds forage for them. It seems like the starlings still hang out together and gang up It's not easy to push away a Robin here and there, but they're not getting all of them any more. Dry mealworms have been added to our wildlife feeding program, and we are very satisfied with the results.
The last three times I purchased from this company (since 2017), my hens had a lot of fun with my first bag! The 30 oz was the right size for me as I knew it would last me for a while (I only have three chickens) and it was at the right price. When I went out to feed my girls today, the worms were all rotten! I ordered my 4th bag on 4/11 and found them for the first time today! A glass jar with a tight fitting lid is what I use to store them. Earlier, I had thought it might be because I had left it outside, next to the coup, but I have been keeping it in the jar for such a long time that I have never experienced the problem before. The rest of the original bag was still there in the original bag so I took it to our storage cabinet (located inside our house) and found it to be moldy as well. My heart is really hoping that this is just a bad batch of worms. I have always kept the worms in the same area and storage area and I have never noticed a problem. I am deeply saddened by this situation, since my girls love their worms and I have to throw away more than half of the bag.
