Questions & Answers

What if I give this to a parakeet?

My parakeet has been receiving products (for years now) to assist with molting and conditioning. I ordered this particular product in May (2016) for under $3, but it was crushed, so I had to throw it out. I think it was an issue with the We received the remainder of our seed products without issue.

Do you know how long the product lasts on the shelf?

Based on the expiration date on the container, you are most likely to go by the expiration date. I mixed it with special keet food to make it more palatable to my parakeets. They didn't like the powder consistency so I did not use it it alone.

When I feed my finches this, how much should I feed them each day? The grains are given to them in the form of four soup spoons and last When I mix this in their food, how much should I use?

There is a parakeet in my house If you add 1 soup spoon or less to the grain, based on what you currently give your finches, you shouldn't go beyond that. Alternatively, you could place a separate treat cup or container in the container.

The powder in here is good, and it tastes really good as well! A few people have commented or complained about the fact that this condition food contains powder
4/5

As far as I'm concerned, this is a feature and not a defect. My experience with Kaytee molting food includes both the powdered version as well as the powderless version. When there is no powder in the one I am giving my parakeet, he won't touch it, but he loves this one with My question is what the powder is made of (maybe it's preferred by the bird. A lot of my bird's body parts molt during the molting process, so I try to feed him condition food as often as I can. Because the amount of powder in this product is not consistent, I am only giving it four out of five stars. At times it is very rich in powder, and sometimes it contains only a quarter to a fifth of it. There are some customers who seem to have received liquid bottles that are mainly powder and others who received liquid bottles that are predominantly (or entirely) The quality control issues Kaytee has are certainly a concern, but this is still.

The purpose of breeding is not to reproduce! There was a death of two chicks
3/5

You should see some powder when you look at the seeds When my pair of Gouldian finches were going through their molt, I got them this as a treat. They ate it enthusiastically and became colored and happy shortly after this was introduced It was readily available at my local pet store, so I bought a bunch of it for The food is definitely cheaper and more convenient to buy than the food I usually use for breeding (Miracle Meal), which I can only order online. So I thought, if they pick it up, I'd be okay with that. In the breeding season when they began breeding I fed them this. It only took my female hen four eggs to hatch, although they were laid at longer intervals (which is strange), but they were all fertile. Since the eggs were laid several days apart, one chick hatched about a week before the other, and two more after that. In the few days after chick number two hatched (but before chicks number three and four hatched), chick number one A second chick passed away the next day. My experience of grieving for the loss of a chick was shocking and very sad for me, as I'd never lost a chick before. There were no signs of injury, mites, or deformity, so I could only conclude they had been eating something that wasn't nutritious. had so much anxiety about the fate of the last two (who hatched the following day), that I placed an order for Miracle Meal and had it delivered within a few hours. As a result, the parents are eating the Miracle Meal ferociously, and the remaining 2 chicks have now survived longer than their siblings did (and, judging from their chirps, it looks like they are, too!). There is a description that states it can be used for breeding, but PLEASE use it only.

I like it
5/5

It was bought for my bird since this is his first molt with me, so I bought this for him - As well as an off-road vehicle At the very least, it is the first season! I add the bigger pieces as well as his seed and pellet mix, and the powdery part to his veggies and eggs (I've had him for 8 months now). The bigger pieces of powder he picks off before eating the veggies, he loves this brand! I'll update when I remember to do so, but so far he seems to be a bit patchy. Since he's not done, I assume he's still working on it. In spite of this, his feathers are looking a little bit brighter Please wish Peeps luck! (He goes by Peeps. ).

It is important for me to be certain that the products I am purchasing Last week, I received my order, and yesterday I looked at this product (Kaytee Molting &ampampamp amp ampampampamp The air conditioning)
3/5

I believe the dust is leftover at the end of the product, which should not be used. I see 4 bottles filled with the dust. Small birds (like parakeets) are at risk of choking if this happens. As a pet owner, I would never buy something like this from a pet store. We would like these 4 bottles replaced, but we only want it to be if the products do not have dust inside. I appreciate that you sell a lot of products, but unless you know the difference between animals and birds, your staff probably doesn't recognize them. There is no doubt that this is a very important issue and makes a huge.

Food for the birds that is healthy
5/5

Birds have found this to be a good source of food. This has been on my order list for a long time. There is only one thing that I don't like, and I wish that the manufacturers would be reading this I wish that the weight should be per pound, not only per ounce. Birds like it because it feeds them.

It's a big hit with the bird
5/5

This product helped my molting bird by reducing excessive preening on his chest. I added it to his food while he is molting. The game is a big hit with him, and it appears to be helping.

Assisted in stopping - This is the time of year when my canary molts
5/5

There's no red in my blood During the molting process, our factor canary started falling 'The season' began six months after the full molting (after a full season of molting). His molting stopped and he is singing and happy now that I have added some of this to his diet. Before and during the normal molt, I will give it to him again.

This is a great product for all bird species! Adding this to our 6 birds (finch, parakeet, lovebird and our pet parakeet) is a good idea
5/5

In addition to giving them great nutrition, they are able to get rid of their old feathers and make room for new ones. These are the foods I add to their daily diet. Each time they receive it, it's only given once in a while.
