Yes, they require some bending, but they are perfectly suited to the perch! They are extremely popular among my sons.

Prevue SPF0610 flight cages (the ones that measure 30" x 18" x 18") are home to my finches. The cage's perches have a diameter of about half an inch. These covers wrap just over halfway around the perch before popping off (frightening the finches to death, and possibly dangerous for all I know). br>br>I believe you're supposed to just slip them on skinny perches, but I need to partially unroll them, which I can't do without causing some damage and losing the roundness that allows them to grip the perch. Furthermore, they quickly lose their shape (especially when knocked to the ground and pooped on), making them unusable. br>br>In addition, Walmart sells the same pack for less than $2.
To sand down my zebra finch nails, I purchased this item. It's working fine, though the covers are slipping a little and need to be replaced on a regular basis because they're such active birds. You can't clean them; you'll have to replace them, and you'll have to do so sooner than you think because they sand their nails. They are effective.
My two small parakeets haven't taken to having them perched on their perches so far. The first doesn't seem to mind, but the second despises it. It was really only for one of them because their nails get caught on cloth items far too easily when they are long. After seeing how they feel now that the product has been in their home for a longer period of time, I may do an updated review.
The old sanding perches, of which I am unsure of the brand, were loose and slipping around, and the scratch part had been removed because it was time to replace them. Birds appear to be unconcerned about them so far. No birds have picked at it, and the cover hasn't slid down the perches.
My bird enjoys chewing on these, and while they last longer than the previous brand I purchased, they will all need to be replaced soon. So who has a chance to clean them, but if you do, they don't clean very well.
The price is excellent for an adjustable grit paper for perches 3/8-inch thick. 1/2 inch in thickness It is used by Parakeet, who stands on it with his feet and head like Socrates. It's simple to clean and dispose of once it's no longer useful. It takes approximately three months to wear it down.
This is the worst parakeet perch cover I've ever used; they wear out quickly, and my birds have no trouble going through them; in fact, I'll see the remains at the bottom of the cage, which other brands do not do. In fact, Petco sells higher-quality perch covers, but my local store didn't have any, so I figured why risk it with this guy? Buy them only if your bird's beaks are weak.
