I put this perch in their cage yesterday, and I've seen them all take turns sitting on it since then. It was being nibbled on. At all times, one of my birds is perched on it. I got the small, which is about the same size as a Mickey D's cheeseburger. It's a good size perch for your cage because it doesn't take up much room. I'm going to order three more of these so that they don't have to share! ) I believe that this perch would be an excellent addition to any bird's cage! Our feathered friends spend the majority of their lives on their feet. It is my responsibility as their mother to make them as comfortable as possible by providing a variety of perches from which to choose!.
The large ones are missing from my life. These were previously available on another website that was acquired by Petco, and they were available in three sizes. I'm glad I came across them. Timothy, my goffin cockatoo, is a big fan. For the past three days, he's been on and off with this pink one. If he keeps going at this pace, it'll be gone in a day or two. He can't get enough of chewing them up. br>br>At first, I purchased a large one, which he took a year to get used to. He's reduced to being a shell destructor. br>br>They come in a variety of pastel tie dye colors; honestly, the only thing that matters in terms of color is that the white birds get stained different colors from time to time, but it's like chalk and washes right off. br>br>I used to be puzzled as to why he was turning blue until I caught him chewing on a pink shell and rubbing it against a blue one I had nearby.
It's something I wouldn't touch. I, on the other hand, encouraged her and showed her; and then, out of nowhere, she was sitting on it! She was ecstatic and chirping loudly to show me she was on it, and she was so proud of herself for being brave enough to do so. She now adores it, particularly since she discovered she could not only sit on it but also eat from it! It's become one of her favorite vantage points. I also like how it doesn't take up a lot of room in her cage and still allows her to fly when she wants. It's also more adorable than a regular perch.
I like how it can keep his nails filed and his beak in good shape while also providing a tasty calcium snack! Color (and perhaps flavor?) are two things that come to mind when thinking about color. I'm not sure, I didn't lick it) differs, if that matters (which it shouldn't). A good size for a green cheek conure, perhaps up to the size of a sun or similar-- Because it isn't very deep, it sits very close to the cage wall. Larger birds might be able to sit on it or chew it if it were on the outside of the cage, giving them more room. This is fantastic!.
She sits on the lowest perch in her cage and literally hangs out there, which contradicts everything I've read about birds perching on the highest perch. This is her favorite playzone, and I have it in the front of the cage, so she enjoys chatting with everyone while she's there. It's a pain to clean because it's a double for nourishment, so I'm never sure if my cleaning is effective, but once you get the mess off, it looks brand new. This is the second time we've bought this item in the last six months. As a result, I'll be going for a third in the near future.
By no means is this a "minor" matter. It's colossal in size and weight. I have a fairly sturdy cage, and when I first tried this, I didn't like how much it felt like it was "hanging" due to the weight. Mine was also broken on one side and had a sickly salmon color to it. Right now, it's in my "back-up" folder. I'm not going to put it up" bin, but if/when I do, it won't be in a very visible location because I don't want to look at it!.
It's about 5 inches wide and a little less than 2 inches thick, with a 5 to 6 inch projection when installed. br>br>The surface is rough enough to keep beaks and claws clean, but not too rough to stand on. My conure likes to wipe her beak on it when it's near her food dish, and she hops on it as she flies around her cage, but she doesn't use it as a long-term perch. Per se, it's a time perch. Definitely of good quality and worth having in your cage. br>br>.
