I initially believed it would, but my wife made an excellent case for why it would not. She speculated that a lovebird's feet might be too small, causing sores, because the lovebird's feet would be completely flat on the perch itself, which makes sense. So, as my wife suggested, I'd go with the small. For a more accurate picture, see my review photos. I hope this has been of assistance.
Yes, for a lovebird, the regular size is sufficient.

My parakeets and finches do not have their nails clipped, so I can't say for sure. They might work to a certain extent.

This perch has proven to be beneficial to my parakeet. It improved the nails and beak in just two weeks. Every few days, I let her out to fly, and she occasionally lands on my carpet. She became tangled in the carpet before obtaining this perch. She adores chasing after my bare feet, but she couldn't even walk across the floor to reach me. What a double whammy of annoyance for her! She's back on track now that she's used this perch! Yay! This perch has done wonders for her tootsies, and I'm very impressed. It is strongly advised. Her beak has also improved. I really like the end result!.
My parakeet's toenails had grown quite long after I failed to notice that her old perch no longer had the rough sanding covering that it had when I first bought it, so I bought this for her. Her nails have already improved dramatically after a month of sleeping and hanging out on this perch. She doesn't mind sitting on the perch all the time and, because she's set in her ways, won't go anywhere else in the cage. This was a great spot for her.
This perch turned out to be satisfactory. With the type of bars I have, it had trouble staying in place because the sandpaper or fibers came off so easily that my parakeet kept eating them and didn't have to work hard to get the little pebbles to come off. It does hold her up, but I haven't noticed any difference in the way her toe nails are trimmed or buffed as a result of it, which was one of the reasons I bought it in the first place.
I ordered a small for my parakeet because it was recommended as the best size for parakeets, but it is too narrow in circumference to reach her nails. Next time, I'll go up two sizes, or larger than the circumference of a highlighter, so her feet are spread wide enough for the nail tips to touch the perch and be filed down. And, despite the fact that it was advertised as green, I received a yellow one, which I did not want to see. So this isn't the color you're supposed to get. As a result, I was unable to put this to use.
I bought the larger size of this perch at a pet store, and it smelled a little, so I aired it out before putting it in the cage, and everything worked out fine. It's one of her favorites, so I got a smaller one, and it stinks like hell. I've had it out for over a month and it still smells like chemicals and death when I sniff it, so hopefully in ten years I'll be able to use it without fear of poisoning my bird:.
Fits into any cage, no matter how big or small it is. It doesn't matter if you're in a cage or not. Perch is fantastic. Fits into any cage, no matter how big or small it is. It doesn't matter if you're in a cage or not. br>While perching on it, birds' nails are filed. br>It's great for new babies because it's easy to cling to while they learn to perch from the nest box.
Finches, budgies, and parakeets will love perching on these. Grit keeps their tiny nails trimmed, and I mix mine with wood perches to give them variety. This is a fantastic addition.
The screw is made of plastic, and the "nut" side is either stripped or never fitted properly. It won't keep the cage wires in place. I'll pay a little more for a better one.
