Yes, if you mean that the bars are 1 inch apart. No, if the bars are one inch in diameter. I hope this information is helpful.
The dye is non-toxic, which is a good thing. Just be aware that if your bird chews on them and they become frayed, you should discard them to prevent them from choking.
1 inch is stated in the description.
If you want it to go straight across the cage, you'll need one that's 21 inches long. If you have the financial means, I recommend upgrading to a cage that is at least 25 inches long.

This product is, in my opinion, one of the best simple-to-use products available. The pet bird industry has never had a better invention. It fits in any cage, can be made into any shape, and most importantly, my three parakeets adore it. When I put it in their cage, they all jumped on it in under a minute (which is unusual for them), and it has since become their favorite perch. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it. They appear to find the size and material to be very comfortable. Outside of their cage, I had a few other nice perches installed, and they loved coming out and sitting on them. They hardly leave the house since I gave them this new perch. Even if you have three small birds, I'd say the perch is stable enough for them to stay on it all the time. It's not easy to clean because my birds have never pooped on it, but that's not an issue for me.
My lovebird enjoyed the smaller one I had for him, so when I upgraded to a larger cage, I also got him this 32" one. He uses them all of the time, and because they're wired on the inside, you can bend them into any shape you want for added functionality. This is also the only perch that my bird will grip tightly and flap his wings to exercise his wings (he is a little on the elderly side). Even upside down, he clings to it. I'm taking his approval as a recommendation, so I can confidently recommend this product. br>br>UPDATE: One of the rope's ends pulled right out of its plastic attachment to the cage's side this week. As a result, I've reduced the rating from 5 to 4 stars because I had to purchase gel superglue to reattach the rope to the plastic fastener. I wasn't happy about it because it's still fairly new, and a lovebird isn't particularly heavy, and this one isn't a chewer. Workmanship appears to be a little shoddy. I still recommend it, but you might need to reassemble it like I did. br>br>In order to further my crusade to improve bird nutrition and health, I'd like to include here a recipe for a fresh diet that a breeder I greatly respect gave me (thank you Angela) simply to offer some advice on how to keep our pet birds healthier - It has nothing to do with the product I'm reviewing here, but it might give you some great ideas for getting fresh fruits and vegetables into your bird. br>br>All domestic birds, especially parrots, lovebirds, parrotlets, parakeets, canaries, finches, conures, and other birds, should have fresh fruits and vegetables, but getting them to eat them can be difficult. Give this recipe a try: This is a recipe that I make, and it took some time for my lovebirds and parrotlets to get used to it, but now they both eat it when it's available. I give it in the morning and take away any food that hasn't been eaten by the evening. br>br>1 apple, cored and choppedbr>1/2 cup chopped raw broccolibr>1 chopped bell pepper seed includedbr>2 shredded carrotsbr>1/2 cup chopped greens (bok choy, mustard greens, kale, and/or chard)br>1/4 cup frozen corn All of my birds LOVE it and I have 100% success getting them to eat it)
1/4 Cup frozen peas
1/2 Cup cooked rice (brown or GABA brown% Fill an ice cube tray halfway with the ingredients and freeze. Remove the frozen cubes from the freezer and place them in freezer-safe plastic bags. After that, you'll be able to take out the ideal portion on a daily basis. They say one cube per bird, but you might find that one cube is enough for a pair of birds, or even more if you have smaller birds. Instead of using an ice cube tray, I use slider freezer bags that I press flat after filling with enough of the mixture, making freezer storage simple and allowing me to easily break off appropriate-sized pieces. This recipe is adaptable, so you can substitute or add/delete ingredients based on what you have on hand or what you know your birds like. br>br>This recipe is meant to be used in addition to their regular pellet and seed diet, not as a replacement.
By the way, we got our cage from Amazon as well ("Best Choice Products New Large Play Top Bird Cage Parrot Finch Macaw Cockatoo Birdcages"), and it's pretty cool! The rope's width is ideal for conure feet, but I'm sure it would also work for smaller birds or even medium-sized parrots. If you're looking for a soft and versatile perch, this is a great option. It can be bent or straight, as desired, and our birds seem to enjoy it.
I like the length, but as another reviewer stated, it is not as moldable as other brands. Because it won't hold its shape if you bend it to make shapes, I simply connected one side to the bottom of the cage and the other to the side to make an arch. It was also difficult to tighten one of the plastic screwed-on ends. It threaded unevenly and became stuck, so I had to loosen it with pliers and try again. br>br>It's adequate for the price, but if you're looking for something of higher quality and moldability, this isn't it.
I reasoned that, given the low price, one of them (I ordered two 32") would most likely be defective. One of each of the perches was missing one of the caps that held it to the cage when I opened the box. It was a real letdown. I put two caps on one perch, reducing the number of working perches to just one. On the other, I'll have to come up with a way to secure it to the cage. br>Apart from that disappointment, it's a hit with my birds! It's quite stiff, which is good because it ensures that it stays horizontal. It's the ideal width for their feet (budgies and greencheek conures), and the ability to bend it to your desired shape is fantastic. It's important to have a variety of perch widths, and the perch's flexibility makes it ideal for foot exercise. br>Overall, the perch is excellent; stars are only deducted for missing components.
br> However, they adore spending time on this lovely, colorful, soft, curvy addition to the palace's decor. br>I have a parakeet with special needs who has'splayed' legs, and this perch keeps him from developing pressure points on his 'good' foot. br> I placed a second order. The money was well spent.
Because Bourke parakeets are larger than cockatiels, I was undecided about whether to get the small or medium. I ordered two lengths of small diameter and one length of medium diameter. For small parrots and below, I believe small is the best option. The medium already appears to be quite large, but it may provide them with a wider range of grip sizes in the cage/outside; however, I don't think wearing the medium all day would be comfortable due to its thicccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc Birds of prey!.
