Questions & Answers

What is the actual length from slot to slot if you include the plastic ends with caps on? I want to use a feeder door to cover a 24" space. ?

The lengths listed for each of the different perches are the total length of the perch "including" both end caps. The length of each individual plastic end cap is slightly more than 2 inches. Each end cap has a one-inch deep slot. Because these perches bend and retain their shape, it's best to get one that's a little longer than you'll need. To adapt the rope to the space, simply twist and bend it. HINT: Make an "S" or a "C" out of it. NET: To determine the actual length of the exposed rope section, subtract 4" from the advertised measurement. Subtract 2 inches from the advertised measurement to get the length of the perch from slot to slot. (EXAMPLE: The physical section of exposed rope will be 24" if a 28" perch is minus 4 inches (2 inches for each end cap). With the same 28" perch minus 2 inches, the distance between slots will be approximately 26 inches.

Could you tell me how long this perch is? According to the reviews, this is not the 36-inch model that the description claims. ?

I got the medium length, which is 21" long and comes with white end caps. They come in three sizes: small, medium, and large.

Does anyone know how big the 21" size is? In the 21" length, Booda makes two. ?

Mine is about the size of a nickle in diameter. I'm not sure if that helps, but it's the best I can come up with. Sorry

I went with the longer one, which was 21 inches in length. It claims that it is safe for parakeets to use. Is there anyone who has a parakeet this size?

Yes, it is extremely effective. It was purchased for my canary, which is about the same size as a parakeet.

I needed a 36-inch perch for my large cage, but the written description stated large 36-inch, which was misleading
3/5

This item measures 21 inches in length. I received a refund from Amazon, but I still need a large one, and it's difficult to tell what size these are when you're looking for them, so; My large one will be purchased from the previous vendor from whom I purchased one.

Also great for rats! Recently, I purchased a used car
5/5

I needed to get creative and order bird-related items on Amazon to make do with a hand cage for my rat that was missing almost all of its ramps and ladders. This is fantastic, and my rat enjoys running up and down it. It bends easily, but is extremely strong and holds its shape even when subjected to the weight and stress of a rat running over it multiple times per day. It's a fantastic product that I strongly suggest. Thank you very much!.

These are a favorite of my Goffin's
5/5

For my small animal, I have two cages. One is located in the front of the house, while the other is located in the back. I purchased two of these for one cage, and Yelliott Mess adores them, so I purchased another for his other "house. " He chews on them, to be sure, but I've also seen him destroy solid wood perches. br>br>Because they're so easy to install and come at such a low price, I'll be replacing them as needed. Anyone who complains about how these are destroyed must not have owned a medium to large parrot for a long time. By their very nature, parrots are ruthless. (Oh, and they're extremely loud, and if they don't like someone, they'll bite them hard. ) Plus, they'll outlive you and your children.

The standard of quality has vanished
3/5

I'm not sure what happened to the Booda Comfy Perch, but I believe the company has cut corners on manufacturing it. I've bought these perches for years and haven't had to buy them often because they used to be extremely durable, but this current batch is (1) not as strong as previous batches and actually droop under the weight of my little bird, and (2) frays incredibly quickly now. My bird has managed to turn a new one into one of my really, really old ones in about a month (and she's not a particularly strong chewer), and the kicker (3) is that not one, but TWO of the plastic threaded ends have broken (making it useless), and it's probably been screwed and unscrewed maybe four times. I despise it when a company creates a fantastic product and then tries to smuggle in a subpar version right under our noses. I'm not going to buy any more of these.

In my house, this is the preferred perch
5/5

Even though I provide my birds with a variety of perches of various sizes and textures, they prefer Booda Comfy Perches over all others. With each new cage configuration, I make sure to use one of these as the "sleeping perch. " You can do a lot with them in almost any size cage because they come in so many different sizes and lengths. Because these perches are made of rope, be sure to check for wear and tear and trim any loose strings. It's easy for a bird to get a toe caught, and if you don't take proper care of it, you could be in for a nasty surprise when you return home. Except for the occasional spot where she wiped her beak recently, one of my birds never tears up the perch at all, and hers all look brand new. Her perches are frequently trimmed and replaced because the other enjoys shredding them. The only disadvantage of these perches is that they are more difficult to clean than stone or plastic perches. I usually wash mine without detergent in the sink or dishwasher. The sanitize cycle in the washing machine (again, no detergent) will suffice, but you'll probably want to add some towels to help with the noise.

These perches are a big hit with my birds
5/5

I got a shorter length so my 20-year-old African Grey and 16-year-old Orange Winged Amazon could have a comfortable extra perch. These perches are popular with both of them, and they're simple to remove and clean when necessary. They're firm, but softer and warmer for the birds' feet than a wooden perch.

My sun conure enjoys it because it's flexible and sturdy
5/5

Hard perches irritate my sun conure, especially after she has her nails trimmed. She, on the other hand, adores the rope perches. They're extremely adaptable, so you can easily change the length and height of them. She likes to chew on them as well. br>br> "JW Comfy Perch for Birds" is the only toy she wants to chew on, no matter what we give her. However, because these perches are so well constructed, it takes her months to chew through one. They've never even come close to collapsing since then. To me, this appears to be a great deal!.
