My previous high-school diploma was replaced by a new one. After more research and an harrowing experience, I've given this a rating. The material is standard cloth/string, and once it begins to wear, it becomes a major hazard for bird feet and talons. My Cockatiel's front teeth were replaced two days ago. Right talon got stuck in some of the material, freaked out, and broke most of the nail clean off, leaving blood all over the place, including on the poor bird. Fortunately, it clotted well enough, but it traumatized her for a few days, so I took it out as soon as I realized what had happened and will not use it again. Her front right claw is broken and a little swollen, but she's doing better now. When your bird is left alone, be wary of materials like this!.
These are lovely, comfortable perches that are good for the birds' feet. Birds value soft, comfortable feet. When birds stand on these perches, they put a lot less pressure on their feet, which keeps callouses at bay. My rescued goffin's cockatoo has callouses on the bottoms of his feet from his previous home. Soft rope perches, as well as a variety of sizes and shapes of perches, are a fantastic way to help heal those feet and prevent it from happening again. They do have a tendency to chew on the larger ones' strings, pulling them out and unraveling them. Also, no matter how tightly I screw them in, my cockatoo can unscrew them, and then he breaks the plastic prongs on the inside; for now, we've covered the ends with duct tape so he can't get to them, because duct tape is difficult to chew off due to the cloth/string inside. For the time being, it appears to be functioning properly. br>br>Rope perches are a favorite of my conure (as shown in the photo). He does, however, enjoy chewing on them, as you can see. So I only let the birds use the rope perches on the outside of their cages, and I'm always watching them because I'm afraid their feet or beaks will get caught in the loose ropes they chew on. It's important to note that this isn't a flaw in the product's manufacturing-- It's all in the mind of the bird! The rope perches are of good quality. The plastic screw holders, on the other hand, are a little different. These tops could be easily snapped by macaws and cockatoos, who have the strongest beaks. I'm not sure if metal ones would be better, but if they were made of metal, they'd have to be the right kind of screw tops. One of them was broken by my cockatoo. br>br>However, these perches are unquestionably my conure's favorites-- He adores them, and I have them scattered around the outside of his cage for him to enjoy. If you get the longer ones, you can twist and curve them and arrange them in a variety of ways for birds to climb and play on. br>br>I'll continue to buy in a variety of sizes and shapes, as well as make a variety of fun toys and perches for my four birds!.
This is fantastic! The branch was much larger around than expected because I ordered the largest size, but my gold cap conure loves it. It took her some time to adjust, but it is now her preferred method of entering and exiting her cage. One end is attached to her play structure on top of her cage, and the other is attached to the inside of her cage so she can easily climb in and out. I like how flexible it is and how it retains some of its shape when posed. After a few weeks of her nails and beak tearing it up, it's starting to show signs of wear and tear, but for $8, I'll gladly replace it if it becomes ratty. I also intend to purchase more once I have some wall perches installed. Making a booda branch trail for her to climb between perches is an excellent idea. br>br>10/10, would recommend to anyone, and I intend to purchase more in the near future.
a small enclosure I ended up purchasing a large cage and required perches to accommodate it. This rope perch is incredible. br>br> You can twist it to create curves and dips in the perch because it's long. With the end caps, it's simple to attach it to the cage. It also works! I was able to make it work with a variety of other natural perches in his cage. br>br>I was pleasantly surprised at how well this rope supported my cockatoo's weight. It simply does not deviate as much from his weight as I had anticipated. br>br>Before I got this perch, I would wake up to find my cockatoo clinging to the cage's side - He didn't appear to have been sleeping on his perches. Every morning since I installed these perches, I've found him in them, contently sitting on these rope perches. br>br>I've had these perches in his cage for four months now, and they're still going strong - He doesn't seem to be interested in chewing them up, so they're easy to clean up. br>br>Highly recommended as a natural perch supplement.
Caps are screwed on and provide a secure fit. I've worked with cotten-wool blends in the past. rope- I've been winding perches for a long time, but my favorites are the KW ones because the winding is nice and tight, and I particularly like the end-cap. Because they provide a secure and stable grip, caps are recommended. My parrot will avoid anything that bounces around a lot, so these non-bouncing toys are perfect for him. rope that is both toxic and stable Perches are her and my favorite places to be;.
THIS WAS NOT CHEWED BY MY BIRD! I've been buying this for a long time, but the quality has degraded. My bird was injured when a cheap glue job caused one side of his cage to collapse. He landed directly in front of me and sat perfectly still. NEVER, EVER, EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER PAY A FEW DOLLAR MORE FOR A PRODUCT THAT IS SAFE. I RECEIVED MY MONEY BACK FROM AMAZON. After his fall, my bird was limping. THIS PRODUCT NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM AMAZON RIGHT NOW.
Make sure you order the correct size for your bird; if you have a macaw, get the jumbo size! These can be broken if bitten hard enough, and my birds did so within a month of receiving them. It's a pain to keep clean, but it's a nice perch nonetheless.
A bird must chew the things that a bird must chew. This applies to their perches as well. This is a fantastic perch. br> Flexible, beautiful, and tough are three words that come to mind when thinking about this item. It took my Macaw several years to get through this first perch. She has now begun work on her next project.
