I bought the 36" length because it was the right length for my cage (I was replacing an older rope perch). The length was appropriate, and the quality was satisfactory - The rope was nice and tight, but the diameter was too large for my Meyers parrot, who is smaller. She resembles a conjure in size. This rope perch can accommodate a larger parrot. WindyCityParrots had a smaller diameter Booda rope perch that was 3/4" in diameter. com. My parrot adores rope perches, but I couldn't find the exact diameter that I needed on Amazon.
This product is made of cotton rope, and it is a fantastic product!
It is up to you to decide how you want to arrange it in the cage. It may droop, but it is unlikely to bother your parrot if it does. The ones in both of my parrots' cages are a little droopy, but the parrots don't seem to mind. The Comfy Perches can be bent into various shapes and placed in various locations throughout the cage.
It measures 28 inches in length.

For my Amazon with a blue front, this is the perfect size. When she's in her cage, it's where she prefers to sleep. Connections that are both sturdy and simple. It's also a good length, longer than my armpit to the tips of my fingers! br>Would be appropriate for the majority of pet birds. Greys, Amazons, and Eclectus prefer large and comfortable parakeets. Cockatoos and Macaws might find it a little thin, but it's perfect for getting their toes moving.
I have a 40-year-old amazon, and over the years, I've purchased a number of rope perches. They wear out, the ends break, or they become unsightly, so you have to replace them. My bird, on the other hand, chewed through this one in less than two weeks. The fibers appeared to be different from others I've purchased in the past; it appears to be all synthetic vs. natural. Others that contain some cotton or natural fibers. I'm sure chewing was enjoyable, but I hope it wasn't harmful.
While I can't comment on how much my bird enjoys or dislikes the product at this time (she's still weaning), I can comment on the product itself. br>br>The rope is tightly wound, providing a great deal of support, and the two connectors were well-designed to fit my 3/4" bar. cage was perfectly spaced The 28" Large perch is just long enough to make a nice loop in my cage and thick enough for an African Grey to comfortably sit on. Although the packaging suggests Macaws, I think it's too small for their feet, and it might buckle under their weight. br>br>In any case, it's well-made and well-designed in terms of cage attachment. I believe this will add some fun and exciting new perch designs to a cage, allowing our birds to climb and enjoy the different texture (assuming they don't mistake it for a chew toy).
Previous perches did not attach securely because the washer provided was not wide enough to overlap the cage bars; however, this one does not have that issue. My cockatoo adores his perch, so I placed an order for a replacement within 48 hours.
It's simple to put together, can flex in different directions for a different perch, and my bird gives it four out of five toes!.
My parakeets congregate in groups on this perch, where I keep them. When you bend it, it maintains its shape fairly well, but it's also very easy to bend, which is nice. Given that I only ordered a bird product and have no dogs, I thought it was strange that the company sent me a free dog treat along with dog food coupons. Overall, it's a great perch; my birds use it frequently and have discovered that it's an excellent place to rub their heads when they have pin feathers.
They'll last a lot longer with a less destructive bird because they're softer than wood perches and give the birds a place to rest their feet.
I sometimes re-tie the ends around the cage bars to give them a little more life. In any case, they're good foot exercise and a comfortable grip for his birdie toes. I also have other types of perches in the cage, but he prefers the Booda ropes because I can twist and reconfigure them.
